When will all the coins be mined? what happens after that?

The same thing that will happen with Bitcoin: miners' reward will be based on the fee. The rest will stay the same.

How can different payment systems coexist in the future? Check out our latest post: Cryptocurrency: A New Branch in The Evolution of Payment Systems

The discussion is available on the Bytecoin forum.

Quote
In 1886, Karl Benz presented the first car. This car could speed up to 10 mph and had less than 1 hp. However, despite such low parameters, this three wheeler was the first car to be mass-produced.

Only well fixed people could afford it, and it was not until twenty years later when Henry Ford started producing the famous Ford T, a car that was available for middle class. It became better, too: the car had 20 hp and could drive at 40-45 mph.

22 years passed since creation of a car until mass adoption. Today, such period seems half-eternal. Today, we are accustomed to the fact that new technologies appear almost every day, and the old ones die just as fast.

It took cars 62 years to become used by 50 000 000 people. Bank cards only required 28 years, the Internet reached this level in 7 and Twitter conquered this summit in 2 years.

However, some technologies develop slower, and their adoption requires even more time.

It would take much longer than bitcoin for bytecoin's reward to reach near 0.

When will all the coins be mined? what happens after that?

A few years before 2140, all the coins will be mined. After that, miners will rely on transaction fees to help them make profit. With more transactions at the time, mining should continue.

I am also mining BCN right now and I do not know where to trade or sell them.  I am currently building a small supply in my wallet, but they are doing nothing but sitting there building up.  Can anyone tell me where I can trade them or use them to purchase something.  Any advise would be helpful.

Quite a late response, but you've got two exchanges to trade Bytecoin:

On December 9th Bytecoin Team have released a new version of the RPC Wallet, introducing a user-friendly API, developed specifically for the needs of online business. New API  allows a businessman to connect his online business to the Bytecoin Platform and utilize its complete functionality to improve the efficiency of his enterprise. RPC Wallet is also useful for the services that provide complex financial services for the users and use Bytecoin as an underlying platform.

Key features:
  • An option for backup or transferring RPC Wallet keys to another server. Using the 'getSpendKeys' and 'getViewKey' functions, you can get every private key managed by the Wallet. Later you can save them in a secure storage or install on another server using the 'reset' and 'createAddress' functions.
  • Delayed transactions. This tool allows you to validate transaction parameters, lock the outputs for a transaction, calculate a hash etc. before sending the transaction into the network. We have introduced the concept of delayed transactions in order to make sure that a transaction passes all checks before being sent.
  • The new API allows for operating with the blockchain directly. For instance, there are functions now that allow a developer to get the list of hashes of the last blocks or transactions. It is also possible to get data on certain Payment ID or certain address managed by RPC Wallet from a range of blocks.

Details on RPC Wallet API functions and the list of those functions can be found in Bytecoin Wiki.

Also, Bytecoin Wallet was upgraded to 1.0.9., now displaying transaction data in more accurate and detailed manner.

So the update is fully on RPC Wallet API? Well, that is important, but I guess it raises a couple of questions:

1. It seems to be not the first time you're changing RPC Wallet API. How stable is the current version? Is it backward compatible?
2. What are you up to now? When is the next large update?
3. You didn't update the roadmap and v.1.0.9 doesn't correspond with the actual release. When is it going to be updated?

Also, can you elaborate on what happened to transactions list tab? The transactions are now expandable... but why? Some of my previous transactions have weird small transfers inside.

We are working on new XDN RPC API too. Your implementation seems very interesting and we will spend some time to research it.
API is a key for services.

Everybody should see Bytecoin for it's purpose and not only as a "trader"/miner.
