Isn't there some sort of fusion transaction feature in the Bytecoin GUI that is supposed to combine those sorts of small amounts together without a fee (which would then make them easier to spend)?

I'm not familiar with it since I've never used it but I did see that discussed in the release announcements.

Thanks @smooth

This is my very first time to send some coins from wallet to exchange....I see "Status 38/confirmed" but I can't see my coin on Poloniex.  How much confirmations they need?

Unfortunately I am stunned and I almost lost my temper...

Besides all the problems listed above, the same thing happened to me as well, all transactions sent over the last 2 days have not arrived at Poloniex.

Gentlemen, your BCN  wallet has very serious problems to be solved. I am aware that it's running on my second PC that is quite dated and with only 2 GB of ram ... but considering it on the same PC I have running several other wallets that have no running problem... I'm very puzzled... If you want to push and evaluate a coin the first thing to do is implement a wallet that works well!!!

Problems:

- Transactions over 10,000 BCN does not accept... In many cases even those from 2,000 BCN. I also tried to set the fee at 1,000 BCN on a transaction of 20,000 BCN but nothing changes!

- Each time I enter a transaction, a large part of the balance is moved to the "Locked Amount" and is no longer available for several hours.

- Transactions require only 6 confirmations (if I remember correctly) but employ 3/8 hours before being processed... If processed correctly!

- The portfolio, today (after that in this days I made the first transactions) took 2/3 hours to open. Of which 2 times as crashed.

- The synchronization, with 8 nodes, is very very slow.

- Other minor problems that don't list.

Ultimately... after shortly times that mine this coin I'm exhausted... I am very sorry to say this, because I rate with good potential... but if dev don't solve the problems of the wallet, abandon everything and continue with other altcoin less stressful.

I had no problems with the wallet (may be yet). Have you tried to reset and resync your wallet? I know it's kinda strange but sometimes it solves a problem...

Each time I enter a transaction, a large part of the balance is moved to the "Locked Amount" and is no longer available for several hours.

The wallet picks random outputs until it gets enough money to send transaction. It doesn't mean it picks as less as possible amount, the difference between needed amount and amount of picked outputs moved to locked amount (this is your change).

I hope the developers will fix these problems soon...

Hi everyone.

It's been a while since my last visit here, as well as since the last Bytecoin update, so I do understand that now there are many questions regarding the proper functioning of our software and our overall plans for the future.

I'd like to assure everyone that we have been working hard lately on the upcoming release, which will fix the most of the known issues.

Both the release and the updated roadmap are planned to be out this month.

Also, I highly encourage everyone to use https://bytecointalk.org/ to ask their questions and report issues, since we hardly support this thread.

You can also contact us via support(at)bytecoin.org at any time.

Cheers!

I love Bytecoin and I have never had any problems with the system.

I am running a busy BCN faucet and I mine the coin at eobot.

Long Live Bytecoin Smiley

Does anyone have anymore information about what's actually going wrong here? I've been mining this with 1kh/s for about 3 days on minergate, and using their exchange service I've easily converted this to BTC
I don't understand the issues everyone's having, but I'm not transferring across exchanges, if there's issues with this coin would I be better moving to another coin?

Mar 18, 2016 Bytecoin team has updated the development roadmap. It is covered in details on Bytecoin's website.

Expected releases:

Bytecoin 1.1.0

HDD Blockchain and Indexes Storage
This solution will make it possible to store vast part of the Blockchain in HDD instead of RAM. The memory consumption will be reduced up to dozen times. Moreover, it will be possible to start a node on cheaper hardware.

Bytecoin RPC Wallet: API Update
Extension of RPC Wallet API with a number of new methods and functions, such as:

  • getEvents method, which will simplify the process of obtaining the latest changes in the network by implementing notifications;
  • Save function, which will allow to save wallet data to HDD.

Core Refactoring

The third and the last of the planned waves of the Bytecoin Core refactoring which completely replaces the 2012-version of the Bytecoin code. New Core will become much more comprehensible and easier to maintain.

Bytecoin Wallet: Dashboard
New Dashboard will now display additional information, including:

  • Mining info (miner's and network's hashrate and difficulty). Also, It will be possible to start/stop mining from the Dashboard.
  • Information from external sources in the Bytecoin Wallet, namely Devs Blog and Twitter.
  • Latest info from Transaction Pool.

Stand Alone Miner
Tiny high-performanced program for Bytecoin Solo Mining. The interface of the miner will be convenient for testing private testnets (in particular, it will be able to generate some amount of blocks instantly). Also, it will be possible to run the miner remotely.

Bytecoin 1.1.1

On-Blockchain Aliases
This feature provides an ability to associate Bytecoin address with human-comprehended string.
