I don't know, but Volkanovski kind of proved that Islam's strengths can be neutralised. He lost by decision but it was a close fight. I don't see Charles being able to copy Volk's tactic or do it better though. There's always a chance of winning by a lucky punch, or an injury. I have a gut feeling that Oliveira can pull a big surprise, but, at the same time, I can't imagine how can he actually win it. He will probably focus on keeping his distance and surviving the first few rounds, to not get finished early as the last time.

What Volkanovski did is very difficult for other fighters to imitate. Volk once weighed comparable to a heavyweight when he was a Rugby player. So you can imagine how dense Volk's body is. If you look closely, it looks like Volk doesn't have a neck because it's so short. And that makes it very difficult for wrestlers to attempt submissions. In my opinion, Volk can compete with Islam because he is indeed The Great.

Tom Aspinall has a great come and for me, he vs Jon Jones must come to Fruition for sure I think that Tom Aspinall proved himself when he fought Marcin Tybura for sure but for sure he will be having a hard time with Sergei Pavlovich in my opinion, the power and accuracy is there so there could be a hard time for him to defeat such opponent but this is just my though and I am also wrong about this,

100% agree. Aspinall Vs Jones is an absolute must. Aspinall will probably have to score at least one more high-profile win, as he's not yet hyped up enough to pull out a proper big-money PPV fight. No offense to Stipe, but I think Tom is much better fighter, he's definitely hungrier. If Jon Jones wants to retire as a GOAT in full glory, he will have to face Aspinall, otherwise it will look like he's running away from the real challenge.

Easier said than done. As soon as Oliveira commits to a punch, Islam will shoot for the legs. Probably he mix some jabs and front kicks, but keeping safe distance for 5 rounds at this level is impossible to pull off.

Fiziev is still 30. He will comeback after all UFC will handle health care for him. Dana will spend more for him so he can comeback. Spinal made a comeback win after his knee recovery. Can't name someone who hasn't tried coming back for another try after an injury.

This kind of injury though needs a constant check up.  Fiziev's career will be short lived though. Probably 5 fight contract when he comes back and maybe UFC will not renew him. Dana will not risk his money for another injury treatment.

Well, back on Rafael Fiziev sure he will return again because Dana White is hands-on with his recovery so he will surely recover but I wish him a fast recovery for sure,

I believe everything is going to depend on how he comes back from his injury. He definitely has time. But obviously the question is, Whether Dana White is going to give him a chance or not. I also think that Dana White is not going to risk his money to give him another chance. Unless he looks in really good physical condition. I believe he is going to get a chance if his physical condition is really good when he comes back from injury. Which I think is probably not very realistic to think about to be honest. But obviously there is a chance.

Easier said than done. As soon as Oliveira commits to a punch, Islam will shoot for the legs. Probably he mix some jabs and front kicks, but keeping safe distance for 5 rounds at this level is impossible to pull off.

All Charles needs is to get to Islam with jabs from a distance. Once he sees he hurt Islam, he can then make more combos to end up on Islam's back. Front kicks are hard to catch yes that also can be mixed with his jabs. He just needs one good shot to hurt Islam before going for combos, 5 rounds will be enough to find that shot.

If he gets impatient and carelessly risks again, he'll be submitted. Islam is prepared in all ways, he can even duck a jab, throw a counter from under, and end up lifting Charles.
The odds will probably be Charles 2.00 and Islam 1.40

I think right now, John Jones is the Money fight. So they are going to put him against another fighter who can also generate a good amount of buzz. And I personally think that Aspinall can do that right now. So I personally think that they are going to give him the fight against John Jones. I also agree that John Jones is not going to stay for a long time in the UFC. This time I think he is here for the money. And he is trying to get as much money as he can, actually, I should say, making as much money as he can, while he is still in decent shape.

I don't know if the ranking is going to matter much in this. They are probably going to go with the fight that is going to make them more money.

Aspinall fighting Jones seems a predictable result. Aspinall may like it of course getting a title shot will flatter him but that doesn't mean it's not a mismatch fight.

If Dana really wants a big fight, they should book Jones vs. Ngannou for a cross promotion to make this fight possible. There is nothing more to wait for than this one. HW use to be an exciting class but Dana not making it happen makes the division suck.

To play referee's advocate, the fight was in the last second of the final round, he literally stopped it in the last second. It was a clear mistake but I kind of understand his hesitancy.

I haven't seen a full fight, so no idea why has it ended with a technical decision, defined as:
“If an accidental foul causes an injury severe enough for the referee to stop the bout after ½ of the scheduled rounds, plus one (1) second of the fight has been completed, the bout will result in a TECHNICAL DECISION awarded to the fighter who is ahead on the scorecards at the time the bout is stopped.”
Those elbows looked legal, so I'm clueless on the reason for that ruling.

That is the Spirit! I know most of us here can surely Appreciate a fighting kitten even though some only have a few, a couple even 1 fitting kitten is enough and a great pick as Karolina Kowalkiewicz is something that has a perfect figure for sure, and from her 5 consecutive losses but her determination never stop there as she got back up and won 3 consecutive wins and her last win was with Vanessa Demopoulos, and even though it was a decision it was but for sure Diana Belbita has a Zebra kind of stats and Karolina Kowalkiewicz could win this fight,

Green has 30 wins and that's a nice record, but is important to mention that he has 14 losses, so, if we compare that with the 20 wins from Dawson and only one loss, that makes Dawson the huge favorite. And as we can see in the casinos, the odds are x1.24 vs x4.

And i agree, it will be hard to see a win by KO, I think the winning method will be by Decision because at the weight of 70kg is hard to see a powerful KO.

Adding up the ages of both fighters sure that there will be different odds for this fight aswell, and adding their age sure Bobby Green is a crucial fighter and his age might become a hindrance in the future well in this match a younger opponent can likely win in the fight but Bobby Green with his 37 years of age might also not become a hindrance against Grant Dawson,

For sure he has tried his best not to offend Alexander Volkanovski, but Volk surely doesn't have a small neck at least that is what I see, or maybe because his body build was like that because he is a rugby player but you are right when Volk can read this, this might crack him good because when I was reading this I almost spit what I am drinking,

Assuming Oliveira loses, there isn't too many options for his next fight. He could fight either Poirier, Gamrot, or Tsarukyan (if he beats Dariush). He already fought Poirier and Gamrot won against Tsarukyan, so Gamrot is probably the most likely one to get that fight. He knows this, that's why he called out Oliveira after defeating Fiziev.
Of course there's also Chandler, but he'll be patiently waiting for McGregor and he also already got defeated by Oliveira, and UFC can't keep re-running the same fights over and over again, they need to let some fresh blood in the top 5.

I am seeing Charles Oliveira being defeated again in this fight with Islam Makhachev, for me the level of wrestling for Islam Makhachev is that huge for Charles Oliveira to understand but I could also be wrong here as it was a dominant fight that he showcased against Beneil Dariush, but for me If Charles Oliveira got an upgrade with his initial striking, power, and ground game for sure Islam Makhachev will be on a different level as well, but for sure I am still be going with the Dagestan Fighter Islam Makhachev for sure,

The main event is intruiging as before seeing Dawson win vs Ismagulov, I'd say Bobby Green gets the W.  But after Ismagulov, a couple of questions...  Did Dawson really improve a whole bunch after leaving James Krause or was Ismagulov just declining as a fighter..?  :/  I guess we'll see it next weekend.  Lol.

I'm also looking at a couple of underdogs.  Will watch some of their past matches in MMACore and see how I feel about it after.  Could be value.

For me, the Main Event is really juicy but for sure but I enjoy the events that don't have any juicy line-ups as long as there are Fighting Kittens on that card I am pretty much excited about the weight-ins and the whole fight for certain fighting kittens and in this event, Karolina Kowalkiewicz and Diana Belbiţă in the preliminary Card is what I think the jam pack card for a kitten fight, expecting a great card for sure,

I think the additional weapon Charles needs for this matchup is TD Defense. I'm not sure someone will reach a high level of wrestling in a few months time but for surviving takedown attempts I think it's a more viable option to consider.

Well, Montana Dela Rosa Beauty is surely a killer sorry I totally forgot about her, but sure I will be betting only for the Karolina Kowalkiewicz VS Diana Belbiţă  fight on this card well I can not make my bets on all of the fights for sure, well, the Montana De La Rosa fight with Stephanie Egger was canceled and was changed to JJ Aldrich for me JJ Aldrich is much dangerous than with Stephanie Egger in my opinion,

Thankfully he got a quick rematch against Islam Makachev despite his knockout loss because usually when something like that happens and when the fighters undoubtedly lose the fight like what happened to him, they often move to another weight division and try their luck there and forget about the past but this time since there is no one out there who can fight both of them, they need to see against each other inside the cage again and settle the rivalry once again. I doubt Charles can train that fast to match and counter Islam's wrestling skills but after Islam has shown his weakness in his fight against Volkanovski, I'm sure Charles has learned a lot on how to beat him from that.

But isnt one of refs tasks to save a fighter? Whether it is 1 second left or 4 more rounds to go. Imho, after a second elbow, I would have stopped it. The opponent stopped defending. Imho it looked stupid to stop at the last second. Why not let land more 2-3 elbows then and hear the siren?

There are fights when a fighter was winning, but got KOed on the last seconds (like Volkov vs Lewis, KOed when there were 11 seconds left). Why not let one guy continue hitting the other ? He will get 10-8 or even 10-7 for that round, but could lose the whole fight in the end.

Recently the UFC has not been making too much noise. At least in my personal opinion, I have seen that UFC do better. So they should try to make those fights which will generate more noise/popularity for themselves instead of thinking about which is too accurate.

That is actually going to be a great idea. John Jones versus Francis Ngannou. A lot of people are definitely going to turn up to see that fight. And even though I know that previously, Dana White and Francis Ngannou had their differences, Dana White is not going to mind when he is going to earn a lot of money.
