phil do you not like server psus?

they are good but not with the onda boards.  the odna need  atx to feed the built in pcie slots

this one below uses server psu's well

https://weyimold.en.alibaba.com/product/60743476945-807760477/In_stock_bitcoin_mining_motherboard_HM65_with_8_PCIE_slot_no_need_riser_card.html?spm=a2700.shop_oth.41413.21.270759eaUK5T8L

I have a clone of this one below

https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/ZA-WKJ1800-DDR3L-onda-motherboard-Onda_60759603861.html?spm=a2700.galleryofferlist.normal_offer.d_title.cc6c15fe9IEuYc

it wants atx.

my super good deal is got on the odna motherboards is sold out  maybe late feb I can order them again

Edit:
ETH is now paying 13.01 cents a mh

don't know how long it will do this but

this is about

AMD
$6.50 for a 5700 or 5700 xt
$5.20 for a 5600 or 5600 xt
$3.36 for a 5500 or 5500 xt

Nvidia
$14.82 for a 3090
$12.35 for a 3080
$ 7.80  for a 3070
$ 7.80  for a 3060ti

those are good numbers

once again it could crash and burn, but any of the above at MSRP just buy them.

The worst card at msrp is the 3090 at free power it is about 135 days to break even 135 x 14.82 = $2000.7

Nice!  You have great luck with the shuffle.  I think Newegg hates me.  Hopefully they get some 3060 ti's and 3080's in the shuffle and reverse my luck.

Nice Phil.  It always seems like the shuffle is the 3070 card and not the 3060ti or 3080 with an occasional 6800 in there.  I got picked for the 5800x which I decided to pass on.  I wonder if that messed up my chances of getting the other stuff.  Does anybody know if you can get picked for more than one item?

First time I was picked for an evga 3090 3987 and a PNY 3090.  It was before I got all the money from the Doge So I just purchased the evga 3987

It was Jan 27 2021 my birthday
Doge took off on
Jan 28 2021.

I won 6 times

1 time  I grabbed the evga 3090
1 time I grabbed the evga 3070 with capture card. combo
1 time I grabbed the msi 3070 with ram combo

1 time they cheated me out of a white gigabyte 3070 with a psu Combo
1 time they gave me a shot for a ryzen 5800x I passed
1 time they  gave me a shot for a 1200 amd card I passed

I lost 2 times.

So far I spent about 3900 with them

I also found a 3090 for 1950

so I spent 5850 since my birthday.

I am running     180 mh   3090 + 3070
I am waiting on 180 mh   3090 + 3070

I think I am done for now.

360mh earns about  43 usd a day

so 150 days  = 6450 should cover everything.

It is an ask for eth to carry on. Beyond 150 days.

Managed to get my hands on a few 3090FE only to realise the cooling, while interesting looking, is not as good as the cheapest aib i have.
So i decided to mod it  Cheesy
https://i.imgur.com/fq0TNAK.jpg

dropped temps from 110C to 84C. I'm now able to drop fan speed to 50% and removed the fan on the backplate. The heatsink still gets burning hot, so i might need to create a shroud on the rear fan and channel it through the heatsink.

fwiw, heatsink used is an led/amplifier aluminium heatsink, 200mmx86x22. I used cheap arctic 1.5mm thermal pads to clear the hump on the backplate

Eh, just missed the window.

I have no direct experience but I have heard they don't mine as well as 3000. The new cache helped a lot with many
applications but hurt massively multi-threaded applications like CPU mining algorithms that are sensitive to cache performance.
That and the price increases make the 5000 series less attractive, IMO.

I haven't seen a lot of discussion about them, possibly because they are hard to get or maybe people are consumed by Eth
at the moment.

This deal goes live on 2-11 and seems to be a pretty good price for a pre-built with a 3070 for those looking for one.  Probably will sell out instantly lol.

For the record, you were right, sold out instantly. lol

They make boards that convert server psus to ATX.  They are honestly a godsend.  https://www.parallelminer.com/product/zsx-breakout-board-16-ports-pico-24pin-atx-fan-hubs-100-gpu-mining-a-game-changer/

Those adapters are good for riser mobos. as you do not pull power in the moboslots.

then odna are slotted boards you need to feed the slots with minimum of 3 separate cables from an atx psu.

I have gone multiple ways building:

8 and 13 card riser builds
2 card gamer/miner builds
6 slot boards
8 slot boards

My preferred board is an 8 slot board that just takes 6 pin pcie cables.  But I can't get it. It runs very well with bitmain apw3+ psu.  I have lots of apw3+ psu's

I am waiting on newegg shuffle I should get results soon.
Based on what people are telling me I am either super lucky or someone is looking out for me at newegg.

I have a source for a 3070 full pc almost as cheap as the Alienware  that sold out.

If I miss this shuffle I will get 1 or 2 of them.

These pico psu are powered by server power supplies. So they can be use for riserless motherboards.

not so they simply can't provide enough power for a lot of slots

My boards use 6 cables for the slots 3 sata and 3 four pin molex

The pico can power 1 of the six slots. maybe 2.

I have built a few hundred mobos and melted more than one pico when trying to run riserless boards.

Unless i have misunderstood you, and that the board powers a couple of slots off of the atx connector, you just plug in cables from your server psu. You dont use the pico to power any pcie. Infact it doesnt have a pcie output. The one in the pic is for 12v input - not an output.

My fault not yours that you don't understand the odna boards.

they have six inputs for the six slots on the board.

3 are molex and 3 are sata

you need to feed those inputs with sata and molex cables

Just want to share something here phil

I was using windows 10 for mining, since ever, only tried mining os for a few times, but always got back to windows
But last week my system started to crash without any reason, it was working 24/7 without any issue

Rig with: 5600xt, 5700, 5700xt, 3070 and 1660super
I made everything i recommend to people  Cheesy - drivers, card position on mobo, risers, cables etc

But now I decided to gave a chance to HiveOS, put on an SSD, configured on website and voila, my system are now stable for some days, without any issue, it's just hard to undestand the overclock on linux coming from windows, but it's really good to have everything stable again

Maybe I'll try simplemining on my secondary rig

I suspect windows 10 updates messed with my miners, and this is annoying because I blocked everything, but windows always find his ways to update  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
