I would really like to know how you get a S1 to 150GH using only 150 Watt!!

There is a thread with a lot of info on how to undervolt and underclock an s-1.  Right now diff and power do not call for the mod.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=526060.0

this thread describes a how to  that achieved  140gh and 160 watts.

If you have a look at the specs of the BM chip you will see that thoose numbers does not add up, @140GH it will use +180W! I have one running 0.86V 250M, it gives 128GH and 164W at the wall.

Yeah I thought the same - is there a pecil mod to get these babies using MORE power and hashing faster not slower?

Anyone managed to push theirs past 225?
Every time I 250, it jumps up to 1275W in, but beeps constantly and eventually drops back down in 5-10 seconds.

Edit: At 225M I get 1153GH/s using 1148W using an EVGA 1300W G2 on 115V. It will probably be a little better on 240V, but I don't have per-outlet metering on my PDU and I wanted to get power measurements using my KillAWatt.

How did you get the clock edit to stick at 225

I tried 200 and on reboot it goes back to the original settings....what method did you use to get it to stick the clock?

Thanks

What would be a good fan replacement for the S2 that would reduce the sound significantly? The S2 has been great, but the noise is quite loud.

No such thing. "Quiet" fans just move less air, for situations when you don't need that much cooling. That does not apply to a 1 KW miner in a relatively small box. You can reduce the sound a little or change the frequency of the sound with different fans, but probably not worth the cost.

You could try opening the box and running it with a large room fan blowing on it instead of the case fans. Some chance that will work, but YMMV. I was able to do that with a bunch of ASICMiner blades back in the day. It was still somewhat loud.

BTW, what's the deal with the bitmain web site being down? Back up now.

Don't do this!  I can already tell by the way things work now that it would not be effective, you need fans blowing through the blades. The one nearest the power supply runs several degrees hotter because of less airflow, already.

I don't know what CMFs the fans currently in the case are moving so I don't know if these are an option but Silenx makes some pretty awesome fans, really quiet.  They do a great job at getting the heat out of my PC, but I'm kinda doubtful that they would keep up with the heat in the S2, possibly.  I know they have one that does around 90CFM for less than 20 dBA (I think 16 or 18).  I am sure there are other options... find out how much air these fans move and then go from there.

I feel bitmain one is better quality if you can wait but if you want ready  1 th/s dragonminer is not bad choice (since there is no other choice) to order  go lketc.com and skype that girl. Or you can buy 5 antminer s1 overclock to 200 if eletricity not concern you.

is there any evidence of B2 having shipped already?

+1

I e-mailed bitmain today about the shipment and shipping date, wanted to know when they will start shipping for batch 2, but unfortunately I didn't get any answer, still waiting. From tomorrow i am gonna email them a lot, until I get an answer, it is a good reliable company but their communication with customer is horrible and it should be addressed and improved.

Secretely hoping to get my miners on friday or monday.  Undecided

I emailed Bitmain last night (about 12 hours ago) asking to change the shipping address and see if it could mail out ASAP since I will be away all next week.
and received a response roughly 8 hours ago that they would be shipping them 'tomorrow' (and also to confirm that they will change the shipping address)

Looks like they will ship ON the 10th, not before it. slightly dissapointed by that, but in no way is it the end of the world. It just means I have to get everything in place (power cord, LAN cable, clear instructions for setup and pool info) so that I can have someone else do the setup for me.

If noone is doing proper overclocking by the 21st - I will be pulling out the boards one-by-one to pencil mod them, throwing in an extra 800W supply, and seeing what can be done to improve the airflow (small chip-seated heatsinks that are a tedius process to apply, or more fans?)

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

You call it compensation, I call it you just got played!

It's actually called "you got what you PAID!". Customers paid for a 3TH with Q2 as delivery deadline and they will get what they paid for in June. It doesn't cross the deadline so i don't see the problem. As for scammers i don't see who or how they scammed people, but yeah this forum needs more tard shill accounts!

Do you really want to waste time feeding a troll?

I mean just read his damn post :

Did I mention greedy fucking pricks???
For those reasons alone I hope btc dies! Let alone how this whole site is criminally run!

Call it what you will… But the shenanigans that are going on in the hardware world are down right criminal .. The vendors are using the customer product in their data centers up until the point where the product is at end of life cycle and then passing it on to the customer with little to no chance for ROE … You can say what you want, but we all know its happening ..
