Actually, Frankfurt players did really well because they did their homework and they knew what they had to do to win this match. we can see absolutely different approaches from both the teams in that match because Barcelona played in their classic Tika Taka style and tried to keep possession of the ball.

This is a common statistic when one of the teams plays ball control (which by the way is an extremely defensive tactic if you think globally) and the second is waiting for its chance and disposes of the ball effectively. I would say it is not always the same though. I mean premier league teams could be getting more money, but they are also being asked more money as well. Same level of player getting paid maybe like 3 million euro in France, asks for 10 million euro in UK because he knows that they can afford it.

Yep both were an underdog team, it's very surprising. Lyon wasn't a easy team to beat, they have a good striker, but West Ham can play defensive very well. In this era, money is not always a guarantee for success, there have been many cases where mediocre teams beat their favorite teams.
