Like it or not, that's the end result. Manchester United will no longer be well developed. So it's difficult for anyone to bet for Manchester United with their condition becoming increasingly unclear. Benfica played much better in the second half.  They are currently tied 2-2 against Ajax.  To tell the truth, I expected Ajax to play a game with plenty of goals in this match.  However, this game of Benfica completely changed my thinking.  Now there is an open match for every score.  In the second leg, Benfica can pass.

Benfica really chased the goal in the second half and attacked heavily. Its insane how much fast players Benfica has,didnt see so many fast players in one team. Too bad Ajax didnt win the match. Also Man Utd was able to score a goal and get that draw that is for them really huge.

I've seen Manchester United play the ball more and pass more.  However, it was Atletico Madrid that went on to attack more.  The goal they found towards the last minutes gave them a breath of fresh air.  Now they will try to finish the job in the rematch.  Benfica has really fast players.  They played the best they could.  Ajax finished their group with a 6/6 win.  I think a draw with such a team will give them an advantage.

Yep, the new regulation related to the away goal is implemented. There is nos special away goal anymore.
So, both clubs must do their best in the second leg, to score higher than the other. So, they will win the game.
In this case, MU should have better motivation to play at home in the second leg.
But, we know that sometimes, this club also cannot utilize this to win the game and moreover probably will be the opposite. BUt we also know that Atletico Madrid also often plays unsatisfied during this season. Both clubs so far often dissatisfy the result with their unpredictable games (bad).

You're right, maybe more than one game will go to overtime, but the really unexpected results were perhaps the best part of this round.  They drew with Salzburg-Munich, Villarreal with Juventus.  Now they have to prepare very well for the rematch.  This includes the game at Old Trafford.

I won't say Atletico Madrid messed up there chances of bagging all 3 points but the Manchester United goal was way too cheap for Jan Oblak not to have made a good save of it. Anthony Elanga wasn't even properly positioned to take that shot bit he did anyway and somehow, with the laxity of Oblak, it found its way into the net and earned Manchester United the draw they so much desired. Its unto the next game though, I can't say Manchester United impressed me tonight. Just 2 shots on target in all the games meanwhile, Atletico Madrid had so many missed chances.

I don't think this is purely Oblak's fault even though he was too forward but on the other hand there was a wrong movement of some of their defenders that made this happen and indeed the assists given were quite difficult for me.
This is a good thing for United because when they lock up but can't do much then fishing out is the solution and the strategy they implement is quite good I think

Indeed Atletico Madrid playing against a team that has Ronaldo in it they(ATM is not always lucky I think they need to find a way to break that curses. ATM dominated the game, created a lot of opportunities but they failed to utilize their chances. I think United getting a draw in this game tonight means a lot to the team and fans and I believe united will beat ATM in the second leg of the match in Old Trafford in front of their fans.

I agree with you on this one Benfica players were ready for this game they kept fighting with very high energy they never gave up even when they were losing 1:2 to their opponents Ajax they increased the tempo of the game, their players became faster with the ball until they got the equalizing goal that secured them the draw. Before the start of the match Ajax was a huge favorite with the bookmakers to win, I have seen average odds around 1.70 on various betting sites. Thought that was a bit on the low side. Ajax is better, but tonight it was close together and Benfica also had enough opportunities to even win. Ajax missed some chances on the 1-3 and then the 2-2 fell on the other side of course. Probably Ajax will finish this at home with the support of the home crowd. Nice to see that Benfica was now almost completely full.

Ajax is currently in a better phase than Benfica. Yet that now seems broken by Benfica, they needed this small success. I certainly consider Benfica opportunities, but playing at home in Lisbon or away in Amsterdam, yes that is quite a difference for these teams. I also read something about a new rule with home and away goals that this would no longer apply, that would be especially disadvantageous for Ajax and United if the duels ended in 0-0 and 1-1 respectively, for example.

I'm not sure Man united loses at home, Champions League matches are different from local matches everything will be done as we saw in today's game, when we thought Man united lost today but it didn't.

Honestly speaking it was a boring Wednesday UEFA champions league, although I was not expecting a very exciting match but this was below my expectations, Manchester United and ATM are two teams just finding there footings so a draw between them is a very fair results, now it's hard to predict who would win this challenge I would go for ATM and that's like 70% they have a more solid defense than Manchester United.

Sure. Draw doesn't guarantee Man United 100% safe to win in the 2nd Leg. Or no guarantee Man United is qualified to the next round already. I cannot guess whether Man United to be more difficult facing Atletico Madrid in the next Leg. But playing at home should be more comfortable for Man United players. They also must have bigger motivation to win because they don't want to make their loyal fans be unsatisfied at home. Also, Man United players will have a better preparation if they play at home only. For me, Man United has a bigger chance to be qualified for the next round.

I just found out about this, this means if it's a draw again at old Trafford, there will be extra time and a Penalty kick. I think it's good, even though drawing in Villareal's home, MU gives a bit of resistance for the host. And again, a substitution player saves MU from defeat, several days ago, Elanga also creates a goal as a substitution and increase the goal after Fred also. Does this mean Rangnick has to think to put him to squad early or is he just good as a substitution?.

Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool played successful first leg matches.  However, Manchester United failed to deliver what was expected.  It doesn't surprise me anymore to see 4 English teams in the last 16 of the champions league.  They are truly in the best places in world football.  Let's see what Manchester United will do in the return match.  If they are successful, the 4 teams that are probably among the last 8 teams will be English teams.

But Manchester United's luck was bigger than Atletico's so this final result could happen. I think Diego Simeone has been frustrated again by the team that made up Cristiano Ronaldo. Several times he met, and that many times he had bad luck.

For now the new rule that takes out the away goal its not seem really enjoyable to the spectator also for bettings , because you dont know what its gonna do the away team, and also the home team.
Lets see in a few years but for me its a no sense cut that rule in terms of spectacle.

But I am very optimistic that Manchester is able to be in the quarter-finals, because Manchester's chances are better than ATM, because in the second leg Manchester will play at home, of course they will play more confidently, in the first half Manchester played less aggressively, so fellixs able to break into de Gea's goal in the 7th minute, but in the second half Manchester was able to rise and be able to control the match, they also managed to equalize in the 80th minute, I am very sure 4 representatives from England are able to qualify for the last 8 of the champions league..
