These teams will give some unexpected performance and the same could be troublesome for the big teams. Look at the ODI World Cup qualifier, none could've expected a win from the team Netherlands after a mammoth score from West Indies. Another match against Scotland, where it needs to complete the match within specific overs to get qualified based on net runrate. The match result was completely unexpected and the team took momentum and changed the match situation in 10 overs. The team might stand as a reason for the elimination of teams at the important moment.

What the World Cup qualifier tournament has shown is that associates such as Scotland and Netherlands have improved the quality of their game. This was evident during the last T20I World Cup as well. Sri Lanka was obviously a level above the rest of the teams, but associate sides were very competitive against other test members such as West Indies, Zimbabwe and Ireland. The final match, where Netherlands lost by a big margin was a disappointment, but that doesn't take away their good performance till then. The very fact that they managed to qualify despite all the attempts by the ICC to get rid of them is a proof of the gap getting narrowed.

After winning toss and having target like 234 was surely demanded some good effort from them but Sri Lankan bowlers which were dominating in this event not allowed them to have anything positive from this final and bowled out them very cheaply with having good win for their team their Hero Wanindu Hasaranga takes 22 wickets and steal the show for the Sri Lanka now they need to stay at this level for the Asia Cup and ODI World cup.
