Today's match is very important for Afghanistan and Sri Lanka as the team that wins today's match will win the series. However, early on Sri Lankan bowlers put a lot of pressure on the Afghan batting line which is enough for Sri Lanka to win today's match.

Don't worry!  Afghanistan most probably would lose the final match. They have already lost 4 wickets before even reaching 100 runs in the power play. Rashid Khan is yet to bat and at the moment Nabi is playing. Most probably they will give a target of 250 runs to a max. This was suppose to happen when you are playing against Srilanka on thier home ground. BTW, Afghanistan VS India bilateral series has been postponed UFN. The Indian team after the WTC would get a whole month to rest.

Sri Lanka and Afghanistan square off against each other in the third and final ODI match to clinch the series. As Sri Lanka won the toss and batted in the second ODI match, Afghanistan followed the same pattern in the third ODI match  they won the toss and decided to bat first. But their batting decision after winning the toss against Sri Lanka was not right as they had already lost 5 wickets for 77 runs.
With the way they lost wickets early on, Afghanistan could probably muster 170 to 190 runs in the first innings. 170 to 190 runs can never be a safe score to win in ODI cricket.

This happens with all of the inexperienced teams. Afghanistan had a big win in their first match. They started so well. But then they lost the second ODI and now they are going to lose their third ODI as well. There is no excuse to their performance, although supporters might claim that their performance is rusty since they were not playing international cricket for so long. But then, at least half a dozen Afghan players were part of the recently concluded IPL season. Many of them performed exceptionally well and it is ironic that the same players are underperforming now.

And I am pretty sure that Srilanka will win the match.

West Indies set a target of 307 runs to the United Arab Emirates.This is undoubtedly a big target for the UAE though as they have many, many talented players. But not as experienced as West Indies players. Ali Naseer and Basil Hameed both scored fairly well against West Indies. I did not understand whether he played T20 or ODI against Afghanistan. 10 batsmen could not play 25 overs in a 50 over game. T20s don't usually score as low as Afghanistan did in the ODI against Sri Lanka when they were bowled out for just 116 runs. There is no pressure for Sri Lanka to win if they score two runs per over they can win. There is no fun watching such a match. The way the Afghanistan batsmen came and went on the wicket looked like they had a lot of stars and the sooner they could finish this game the better for them. I did not see any player batting with responsibility in the moment of pressure.

Sri Lanka won the series against Afghanistan by winning the last two matches by a big margin. Sri Lanka only had to play 16 overs to cross Afghanistan's target. Sri Lanka lost just one wicket and secured a huge 9 wicket win in this match. The question may come to our mind that the bowling line-up is stronger than the batting line-up of Afghanistan so why they were defeated by 9 wickets. 

Although Afghanistan's bowling line-up was strong, they had nothing to do in this match as the runs were very short and Sri Lanka did not bat with any pressure on this target as a result of which the Sri Lankan batsmen did not play any wrong shots. As the Sri Lankan batsmen did not play any wrong shots, the Afghanistan bowlers could not make any impact on the Sri Lankan batsmen in this short target.

Though they have a good reputation in the T20 format, but the team's condition in ODIs is drastically bad. If Afghanistan can't improve their game then the journey of world cricket will not be good. In the 3rd match of this series, Afghanistan lost all wickets for 116 but Sri Lanka easily won by just 9 wickets.

LOL! 116 all out  , what were Afganistan batters thinking? They forgot it is an ODI game and not T20. Hasiranga and Chameera did not give Afghan batters to go after their bowling. As expected it is not that easy to defeat Srilank on their home ground. If the Asia cup happens in Srilanka then most probably they would win it this time. The pitch is made according to the needs of Srilankan team. With this win they won the series. I personally never thought that Afganistan would play so badly in the last match. I expected them to be more competitive. I did expect a thrilling final match. None of that sort happened today.

Srilanka won comfortably in the end with 9 wickets. I did not expect a one-sided match where they only had to chase 116 runs in the final ODI match.  Pathum Nissanka and Dimuth Karunaratne easily chased down this score by making 50+ runs both of them. The opener from Sri Lanka single-handedly chased this score as they lost their first wicket at 84 runs.

Afghanistan did win the first ODI match but after that the next two matches, the Sri Lankan team won by a big margin. They won the 2nd ODI by 132 runs and this last ODI with 9 wickets.
