Vallecano really made it to the victory somehow. We watched two comebacks in total. It is really not easy to make a comeback against Real Madrid while you are the losing side. It is valid especially if we are talking about a much smaller team. But Vallecano found a way to do this and won by 3-2.

This is the second time in a row that Real Madrid are losing points against such teams. They lost 5 points in the recent 2 weeks and this helped Barcelona take the lead from them. I don't know what has started to be wrong about Real Madrid lately. They have important defensive issues now.

Not only did they lose three points at Rayo headquarters, Real Madrid also received a very disappointing prize, namely their first defeat in La Liga this season as well as losing their position at the top of the standings. I didn't watch Rayo Vallecano vs Real Madrid match, but it is so surprising to see the results in this way, this results is just the opposite of how many people thought about today's game. Rayo Vallecano really tried to win Real Madrid that many expected to win the match.

I think, the challenge there was their defense and midfield, because they failed to work together in this match that made vallecano to achieved early goals that made them to have hope of winning the match in the first half. I believe, Real Madrid coach will not allow such thing to happen again in their next match than to use everything within his power to ensure he bring them victory at the end of the match. Real Madrid strikers really performed well to equalized the goals in the first half but vallecano found a pure opportunity that made them to defeated Real Madrid 3-2 for the favour of vallecano.

It's clear that after Madrid's loss yesterday at Rayo, things are getting interesting and giving Barcelona some breathing space. Actually Real Madrid played quite well against Vallecano, Statistically Madrid is superior to Vallecano. Real Madrid fault for not being able to take advantage of opportunities well in this match, during the match Ancelotti's men recorded 12 shots, two of which were on goal. Another mistake made by Ancelotti in this match was lowering a formation that was not much different when Madrid were held to a draw at Girona last week which made Ancelotti tactics very easy to read Andoni Iraola.

Real Madrid strikers do not play an active role in scoring goals, Real Madrid two goals came from Luka Modric and Eder Militao whose position was not as a striker. Barcelona will remain at the top of the table till after the World Cup. In my last post I said that sometimes it feels like the top players from the top teams don't give their 110% anymore right before huge tournaments like a World Cup because of injury risk and that is the time when the smaller teams can win games due to their intensity and fighting spirit. It kinds of went this way in this game. Rayo Vallecano was very aggressive and played with maximum physical intensity while Real Madrid didn't go at their max. I believe that it might have to do with my aforementioned hypothesis. Anyway now we have a new leader in La Liga, which is good for the competition.
