I have heard before that Chelsea would be likely to let Marcos Alonso go also. If this is real now then things can be easier for Barcelona. Despite their current financial condition they wouldn't have big difficulties in signing him as his value is not that much (around 12 million euros). They have quite many left-backs in the team actually but they might want to add another experienced one.

Barcelona has a lot of talented defenders. But the performance of the Barcelona defenders last season was not good. Barcelona's defense was weak. I heard this news but actually it's still uncertain about whether he will stay or not but indeed if he is ready to extend his contract then indeed he must be willing to have his salary cut.

They must have been in close contact not looking at the delay in the switch.

Trough financial problem faced by Barcelona not have option for Dembele cut off his salary if want keep stay with Barcelona, still not announcement from Dembele will agree or not about cut off his salary.
