For more than ten years, Ballon d'Or has been dominated by Messi and Ronaldo. We saw Modric winning the prize four years ago which was the only time a different player winning it in this time period. However considering the previous season, I think the most deserving players are Lewandowski and Benzema. I'm a little indecisive between them but I assume that I will vote for Benzema in this.    Because it was a great season he had with Real Madrid. They became even the champions in the Champions League too and Benzema played a huge role in this as well.

It's true that this dominance has lasted since 2008 and only Ronaldo and Messi have always been the decorations for the Ballon d'Or winner, except in 2018 when Modric managed to transform into a player who could stop domination even if it was only for 1 season.
It would be very nice if there were other names there, but most likely it will be like that especially now that Messi and Ronaldo are actually under in terms of performance, although they are still giving good performances, they are still below Benzema or Lewandowski.

I think it's still within the normal limits of what Bale does when he plays and it seems selfish. As a player he also has the instinct to score goals, and it is not uncommon for him to make assists for his team-mates. Shouldn't forget something extraordinary just because a little "mistake" that he did.

For Lewandowski and Ronaldo maybe still can but I still feel that Messi right now shouldn't be that much of a favourite. His performances can be said to be ordinary in the League and it is very biased if he can return to competing in a top position and a strong candidate.
At the moment I still feel that the strong rival is Lewandowski but maybe for the Ballon d'Or there will be more drama like last season.

What drama happened last season, did I miss something? Was it because Messi was the favorite last season that people can't accept that he doesn't perform optimally and felt Lewandowski deserved more? Or because Jorginho was named one of the favorite players to win the Ballon d'or last season?

It is important how productive this year has been for Ballon D'or.  Lewandowski had a very good season.  Likewise, he had a very good season with Benzema.  But Benzema often saved Real Madrid at the last moment.  Benzema is one of the players who have the biggest share in becoming champions of the Champions League.  That's why I think Benzema will win over Lewandowski.

You seem to be left out of information now that Bale has officially left Madrid and moved to Los Angeles FC on a one-year contract there.

I don't understand what can be discussed here. As far as I've seen, even all the potential-competitors admit that Benzema should get the Ballon d'Or this season. I haven't checked but if the bookmakers are already giving quotes for this event then Benzema should be quoted as 1.01. If there are more generous odds, I will gladly place a bet and take this easy money.

It is actually a little weird to think that once Gareth Bale was a defender, he is a great player and he has given Real Madrid a lot. But the problem is he has been through a lot of injuries and that has not been ideal at all for him and also for Real Madrid.

So while he was injured Real Madrid found someone else to fill his place, but through the passing of time, both Real Madrid and Gareth Bale had to move on. Right now Real Madrid does not need a player like him. and him staying on the Real Madrid bench is also not going to do him any good especially when he is getting older. But right now it also feels like he is not interested in top tier football anymore. and it is true that he has left a very big mark on the club.

It is actually sad to see the farewell that he got in Real Madrid. they had arranged some great farewells for players like Marcelo. and for Gareth Bale, there was nothing substantial to speak of. for a player who came in and made headlines Day After day, it is sad to see him leave like that. and yes the fans are not going to be very sympathetic because he has not been performing well for a long time and Real Madrid was basically giving him free money which obviously hurt the economy.

I agree with your views because it is very good decision by Gareth Bale to leave Real Madrid for LAFC for one season surely this can bring some positive changes for his future and game plane right now Real Madrid is not having chance for him and other good clubs are also not looking for him so leaving Europe for one season can bring some positive or negative both impacts but for me as age factor is also going with this good player he can do better in future if he has some solid performance in this season at LAFC, so some good European club will try to bring him back here may be it is Tottenham or some other in Spain as well.

CR7 and Lionel Messi had a poor season. I believe this is Benzema time. He has put in enough work in recent seasons. His performances have been great and exceeding expectations and his contribution has also been excellent. I think Benzema should be the player above everyone else. he was on fire in the last season. Robert Lewandowski also played well but he has a better team and he also does not face so much petition as Real Madrid does in the La Liga. and Benzema also saved Real Madrid multiple Times in the Champions League as well. Cristiano Ronaldo has played well but Manchester United did not do well as a team. And to be honest  Lionel Messi did not do much in PSG.
So Benzema should be the deserving one in my opinion.

His career is not ending, there are other goals that must be carved out by him, joining LAFC actually to strengthen his fitness to be ready for the world cup. If he can show all his talents at this event, possible that he will be offered by a top European club. Bale is a player also can be concluded is not too old for a career, July 16 he will be 33 years old. While we can see there are still many older players above him having a career at big clubs.
