Atletico Madrid are following the Real Madrid - Barcelona duo behind for now. They have really made a big progress in the league on the recent weeks. They didn't lose for five weeks and won four of those games.

Actually they didn't make a good start at first. It was like this season would be even worse for Atletico Madrid. But Simeone has started to make up for that bad start by the recent results. However I still doubt them about being capable of getting points from teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid. Because those two teams are at another level compared to the rest of the teams in the league. They aren't unbeatable of course but it is still hard to do so considering their forms.

Simeone is being in ATM for almost 11 years and everything seems fine for the club owners and their fans. He made a lot of progress with them and ATM is playing for the first 4 spots and participating in Champions League. They aren't that great to challenge for the first rank but doing enough to staying as close as possible.

Under the direction of Diego Simeone, Atletico Madrid were able to close every season by being in the top 4 and one of the most impressive achievements was when they were able to close the 2013/2014 & 2020/2021 seasons as Laliga champions, and twice qualified for the champions league final. This season Atletico Madrid have the opportunity to disrupt the concentration of the two teams above them Barcelona and Real Madrid in the title race this season. However, it is not an easy matter considering the strength of Real Madrid which is quite impressive this season by successfully maintaining the trend of winning streaks this season. The only gap that Atletico Madrid can use to infiltrate the top rankings is the consistent loss of the team above them and that seems quite difficult to happen.

I read about that several times and I wouldn't argue with statistics but Xavi made a good work by rebuilding the team. Before him Barcelona was doing horrible football, before Messi departure and just after it under Koeman management. Xavi back then was like the saviour and Barcelona moved forward with him. The situation isn't very good for now but Barcelona kept hovering in the first spots. As far as I remember, Barcelona was like in the 15th spot in the previous year?
