In the upcoming fixtures, the two clubs who are now top of the standings with the only difference from goal productivity will have a more difficult match. Real Madrid will visit Villarreal, and Barcelona will also have their away match against Atletico Madrid. Villareal and Atletico Madrid are difficult clubs to beat, this will be a threat for these two teams.
In my opinion now it is Barcelona who are not benefiting more than Real madrid this week, because Atletico Madrid is one of the clubs that usually puts pressure on them in the top 3, regardless of the decline they are experiencing now, but still this will be a very serious threat for Barcelona.

Even though Atletico Madrid are not very trustworthy these days their odd is still not too far away from Barcelona. I would have expected an odd less than 2.00 for Barcelona win truthfully. I first thought that it might be due to Barcelona's unexpected point loss last week. However I assume I know why. Atletico Madrid have a good home-match history against Barcelona. Of course there were times Barcelona won but Atletico Madrid were able to keep them away from a win mostly in the recent years. I don't know if they can do this with the current effort level though. It is true that Barcelona did have a very good chance of staying ahead of Real Madrid in terms of points after the game. However, they have not been able to accomplish that. At this point, I am very doubtful as to whether Barcelona will actually be able to hold on to the top spot at the end of the season.

My biggest problem with Barcelona is that they have lost a match that should not have been lost in the first place. I am almost certain that Barcelona is going to get down to the second position once again in the near future. Furthermore, I am very doubtful as to whether Barcelona will be able to win their next match or not.

I don't understand how you draw conclusions, but in Barcelona's last match against Espanyol, actually Barcelona really tried to perform optimally. Indeed, Barcelona should not have dropped points in that match, but playing with 10 players after Alba's red card was clearly more difficult to create goal chance. On the other hand, the match was played with high intensity considering it was a derby match for both teams. Lahoz did not hesitate to issue cards and even sent out two players during the match, and that is the record for a game that has the most number of cards.

After all Barcelona didn't lose, it was only a draw because Espanyol only had one chance to score and that was a penalty. The rest of Barcelona did something like they should have done, but the tightness of Espanyol's defense prevented Barcelona from scoring more than 1 goal.

The lost of Barcelona in the last match was unexpected to me. Even if Barcelona needs to lose it should be against Real Madrid or ATM.

at the top of the standings is very interesting and exciting because it has the same points between real madrid and barcelona, of course this will be a tough competition between the two to be the greatest in the spanish league cup this season, i am not a supporter of both but i believe the greatest will be the winner win in this season

The both has played marvelously well, but Barcelona has the best defensive record and the highest GF. Barcelona still has a higher chance of winning the league title based on their GD. All they just need to do is get a substitute for Lewandowski because he is over relied upon because there is no other center-forward and many Spanish teams have noticed it, and they are using it against them by hiding him.

If Barcelona must maintain their 4-3-3 formation then something has to be done with all three forwards so their game because less predictive. Because the more they channel their game towards the center-forward where Lewa plays, the more exposed their tactics become and the less productive they become.

I agree if there is a change in formation at Barcelona considering they use the 4-3-3 formation too often in several matches. Maybe in my opinion if they use a different formation they might get a win. But in my opinion the most suitable formation is 4 -1- 4- 1 so rely on one DMF Sergio Bosquest and the remaining four can be filled by players like Pedri, Gavi, Raphina and Dembele, while Lewandowski continues to play as a target man on the front lines because of this very suitable if changing to a fast counterattack playing style. I just found out that Espanyol have challenged the derby against Barcelona for Lewandowski's unlawful alignment.

I don't quite understand it, as Barcelona had the precautionary suspension of the sanction, so I don't think the challenge will be successful.

And on the other hand, what would be the consequence? Replay the match? They could lose it if it is replayed.

Espanyol are wasting their time with this appeal, everything was official and Lewandowski was cleared before the derby game, i don't know the reason for this appeal now. Lewandowski received his red card against Osasuna before the world cup, and he was supposed to be suspended for the game against Espanyol, but i believe barcelona are appealing the red card decision and that is why the La Liga authorities cleared him to play until there is a final decision about the red card he received before the world cup and how many games he will miss. Espanyol should forget about this and focus on their next match.

The odds are quite interesting for Barcelona now, maybe in this case they are the underdog but on the other hand there are several considerations such as them playing away in this match and the poor results shown in the first game.
It's definitely a bit difficult in my opinion regardless of what Atletico are a pretty big team even though they haven't played very well in the last 2 seasons.

I think this is not as heavy as Barcelona, especially after Emery left now. Villarreal is a little different and Villarreal, which is now being cared for by Setien, is still in the process of adaptation.

Sevilla's next game is going to be against Getafe home. This must be their time to win a game finally. Getafe's condition in the standings might seem better maybe but Sevilla have a really strong psychological advantage against them at the same time. They won their last 6 head-to-head games for example. This would be a big motivation for them to concentrate more.

That will be very disappointed if barcelona will not win any trophy for this year. Those money who have been spent last year meant nothing and xavi will become the main thing that shall get so many blames. His worst achievement with barcelona shall not continue for another year. I meant look at what already done by xavi and that's enough for barcelona to use him as a coach. Madrid itself will be buying some players which will make the team even more stronger and consistence.
