The defensive strategy came about because Barcelona played the same tiki taka scheme and the opposition in this case Girona knew that if they tried to hold up in the middle or in Barcelona's defensive area it would not be beneficial for them so they just had to wait for Barcelona to lose the ball and counter attack quickly.
It proved to be worth it and in this match we can see how Barcelona losing the ball or their chances not going well can be maximised more for Girona.

I was very surprised by the performance of the Girona goalkeeper who was able to save 9 chances for Barcelona's 9 goals in that match. It was a fantastic performance and it clearly saved Girona from defeat. Barcelona performed well in that match, but all the players were very stressed because it was difficult to score goals. It was a match that never lived up to Barcelona's expectations. They dominated but they lost, but of course there are important lessons from this defeat and Xavi must really be able to improve it in future matches. While Rayo Vallecano is in 11th place in the table with 19 points, Celta Vigo is at the bottom of the points table.  But with Celta's recent record against Rayo and their strong defensive performance, they could potentially get a narrow win. I think Celta Vigo can beat Rayo Vallecano 2-1.

I think tonight match will be difficult for Rayo or Celta get full points, but Rayo who will play at home in my opinion, will probably be ahead. Considering that previously in the last home match this team was quite strong, because they can hold draw Barcelona.
Also, their position in the standings is better than Celta, so the possibility of Rayo losing in tonight match is quite small. Although on the other side, Celta performance is quite good based on head to head in the last five matches vs Rayo, but so far this season Celta is also having difficulty to collecting points.

Their being able to maintain their presence in this competition makes me thrilled. However I'm curious about whether they will be able to keep the same level in the second half of the season as well. If they do so I can't imagine how amazing it would be for them to even win the league title.

They should not be too happy and comfortable, the great journey has just begun. I bet to differ here as I thought that Girona does very well have a chance against a Barcelona that is not in great shape to say the least. Ter Stegen is gone and Lewandowski is not as good of a striker as he used to be. He is far from being the genius he was when he still played for Bayern Munich. Gavi is out for a while, too. Overall results are relatively bad and they have shown weakness in the Champions League when they lost against Shakhtar.

Girona is literally flying these days. They are hyped, motivated and they are extremely efficient in scoring goals. Half the number of attempts, double the number of goals and they have no Lewandowski. Barcelona in my opinion is out of the competition for the title. I don't think they can step up their game. I know it is early, but I think this will be Girona vs. Real Madrid for the title.

To me the home side lost that focus of getting everything done right from the first half, they some how underrated Girona. The way Barcelona played was like they have already secured all 3 point but when the visitors scored, that alone made them to sit up before Lewandowski got the equalizer. In accordance with my predictions, Barcelona will experience defeat against , because from a mental and enthusiastic perspective in building attacks it is very clear that Girona dominates the game, Barcelona's crushing defeat is due to Barcelona's weak defense to the point that they are busy attacking and Girona's results able to rely on deadly counter attacks from several goals scored during the match.

Certainly Simeone will not be happy enough with the win and maybe they have to learn from this match so that later the visiting team cannot pressure them with better opportunities. I wasn't expected Barcelona would win the match before it started, because Girona has been playing better than Barcelona this season. In the weekend matches, only Real Madrid as big club able to draw against their opponents, because most of the other leagues big clubs lost to small clubs. Yesterday, Girona played like they were playing at their own home, and Araujo was unable to hold Girona attackers. The way Xavi's players played, I don't think it will lead Barcelona to anywhere, even in Champions League.

I noticed these guys are just fearless, the morale is high as they face any club regardless of their status, that's the spirit. Besides, I just added myself as their fan of late, I can't just stop loving them for obvious reasons. They also did not disappoint my predictions, and despite the tough analysis between them and Barcelona, I still had my predictions right, although I wasn't straight with my preference yet I mentioned multiple times that Girona has all it takes to beat Barcelona and that I saw the two teams scoring at the same time.

Voila, these predictions are now true and I can't but wish Girona more fortunes and good luck this season. They've displaced Real Madrid lower as expected with just two points leading them, but still, I believe they would hold the top position for a longer duration of time, and I hope they will not douse this fire in them for any reason. You know what, as you can see, that match was a very lovely one for me ever since I saw across the betting boards the huge odds given to Girona if they won the match.
