The point difference between Barcelona and Girona in the league table is just two points in favor of Barcelona. If Girona were in form, they could have put pressure on Barcelona for the second position in the league table. Joao Felix's performance did not improve because the Atletico Madrid team's style of play did not suit him and this was all the fault of Atletico management when they chose to recruit Joao Felix at a high price even though the team could see whether the player's characteristics suited the team or not.

What kills a team is favoritism and it's one factor that should be worked on. Yes, it's true that Bilbao can really take advantage of the momentum when Atletico Madrid and Girona haven't played well in their last few matches, this is an opportunity for Bilbao to be in the best position, even though there is still a one point difference with Atletico Madrid, they should be able to maintain that. difference in points to at least remain in the top four, if Girona continues to suffer defeats it will be in Bilbao's favor to overtake them if Girona does not recover from their downturn, so far Bilbao has appeared very impressive.

If we consider about the one point gap, at least it is still a close points gap and it is still possible for Atletico to overtake Bilbao. But, if we consider about their recent performance then yes, at least we will assume that eventhough they only have a onepoint gap, it will still be difficult for Atletico to overtake Bilbao. Atletico Madrid still has a chance to finish in the top four of La Liga, but with the caveat that ATM must sweep all its matches with a win. yeah, La Liga leaves 8 matches for Atletico for them to complete and finish in the top 4 of this competition. the point is, Diego Simeone's squad must win match after match. including against Girona, Bilbao and Real Sociedad. these 3 teams are the toughest in the remaining 8 matches. so, if Atletico is able to win game after game, at least they can finish in 4th place. or, it could be possible to finish in 3rd place if Girona experiences a slump. so, before this competition ends, like it or not, Diego Simeone has to get his team back on track.

I would assume that he probably won't. I mean technically speaking he will, but in theory I think he will not play for them, the moment he "returns", he will just be sold or loaned out again and just not be there.

You can't make a player play in a club he doesn't want to. He is famously in love with Barcelona, which drops his value because you can't get the maximum amount from a player who already wants to agree, or he will walk for free when his contract ends and not play for you, which is what happened this year and how he moved to Barcelona on loan.
