It was sad to see them falling behind Real Madrid and Barcelona because Míchel and his players have put in lots of effort. This is the problem with clubs like this because they have a low budget and few quality players. They will be easily affected by injuries and suspension because they don't have a quality bench like top clubs to replace players in the squad. But we are seeing something different in the Bundesliga where Xabi Alonso is performing miracles with relatively unknown players.

Girona's next game with Atlético Madrid is an important match for both clubs. It will determine who will end the season in third position. Since the season started we have been surprised by Girona's ability to overcome every resistance of their opponents in the league, but unfortunately when Girona managed to stay long enough at the top of the La Liga table actually the defeat by Madrid became the way of their destruction in the league, I think girona's journey in La Liga this season is like Leverkusen in the Bundesliga which is able to destroy the dominance of big teams,  But the difference is that Girona does not have the consistency and mentality that Leverkusen have this season, Regardless of, their failure to maintain the top of the table from Madrid, of course Girona achievements deserve us to lift our hats, especially next season they have the opportunity to play in the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.

Admittedly or not but at the moment Atletico Madrid are starting on the right track, and I think they just need consistency in facing the rest of the season to be stay in the top 4 at the end of the season, next week match between Atletico Madrid and Girona is certainly a difficult match to predict because the performance of both teams is quite good at the moment,  But I think Atletico Madrid might be able to win the game to be able to strengthen their current position while staying away from Atletico Bilbao who are still pressing them.

The la Liga this season is really competitive and the form of various teams in all of these has really been such that they have been in more competition to get to the top and those who couldn't get on in the fight has in one way or the other fallen below the positions expected of them at every point, don't really believe in other teams who are below the top five position on the table as i see them as just average teams.

I think the top 6 this season have already been determined and they are Real Madrid, Barcelona, Girona, Athletic Bilbao, Atletico Madrid, and Real Sociedad. Although Valencia won their last match, I don't think it would help them getting in the top 6 position that much. And that win against Granada was quite expected. I mean Granada is sure to be relegated this season at this point.

What is more exciting is the relegation battle happening at the 18th position right now. Celta Vigo and Cadiz are in the range of becoming the 18th team in this season. On the other hand, the 4th position fight has suddenly started after Atletico Madrid had suddenly lost 2 games in a row and Athletic Bilbao were on a winning spree.
