As of now, they have fixed the error, so anyone shouldn't see the phishing warning again.[1] I wonder how could Roobet was added in the first place? I don't know whether it was erroneously added or because of manual reporting.

The reason you don't see the warning is that it has been fixed now.

Was this a mistake at the metamask end? If so, they should be dealt with it seriously because it created a lot of misunderstanding among the Roobet users.

I could not find any evidence of the roobet.com domain ever being listed in any public phishing or abuse databases. It is possible that someone intentionally reported the domain to harm Roobet's reputation or to get revenge on Roobet. It is surprising that MetaMask did not put more control over things like this. I expected them to have a protocol in place to do that kind of threat assessment and only add sites that they are 100% certain about. Based on this, anyone with a little effort can damage any business and may potentially cause millions of dollars in loss.

Most probably someone report Roobet as a scam site either the competitor or this is just a pure mistake.
Its good that its already fixed because many will surely panic if this will not be remove. Well, there’s no success scam accusation with Roobet after all and all the legit problems solve already by their support and this site has been doing great since then, Roobet is one of the best site today to gamble.

I expected them to have a protocol in place to do that kind of threat assessment and only add sites that they are 100% certain about. Based on this, anyone with a little effort can damage any business and may potentially cause millions of dollars in loss.

I don't know how they maintain the scam list, as per that PR, there is a number in the first post that I don't understand. Maybe Roobet just got false flagged.

Anyway, maintaining a scam list is hard, there is a reason why this forum doesn't moderate scams. And if you read that repository issues, there is a lot of other site that complain about a legitimate site being blacklisted other than Roobet.

Those type of error or warning messages happen all the time when the place is not in contact with metamask and metamask doesn't know the website. Doesn't mean that the website is bad, mostly it is bad places and you should always be careful, so it is normal to be worried about it. But, know the difference between "known bad places" vs "unknown places", this here is basically "we don't know this website, we can't guarantee your safety" type of warning and that’s understandable.

Roobet could contact metamask team, and get this sorted, it would definitely be a lot better for them to do that because it would be bad for business for customers to keep seeing this.

If you had read a couple of posts before yours, you would know they have already done so, and the issue is already resolved.

Maybe this forum needs to start checking out scams here and there as well considering how many times people got scammed here. But, at the same time I get it, because in the end we could had these type of situations where we know roobet is not a scam, it was never a scam, there isn't even a single legit accusation against them and yet we are seeing metamask considering them as a scam website for some reason.

The reason why a scam isn't being moderated here is clear enough. And your reasoning of only because a lot of people getting scammed, I think it's not decisive enough. If you have another solution or are able to afford a better explanation about it, feel free to post your concern on Meta.

Hi @rondorkerin - I have removed the two domains I don't have confirmation on ownership in commit 4ea914a - I am talking to Roobet on Twitter. I'll add them back in a separate PR if they claim ownership of those domains. This PR (with my commit on your branch) will fix the immediate problem.

I think this issue should be fixed with a browser update because the roobet site was blacklisted on this pull:

But then there was a request to fix that:

And it's already closed... If we take a look at the config.json we will see roobet in the whitelist.

I don't think the phishing lists are built-in into Metamask Extension. Their last update was 7 days ago and the false-flagged merge was happening 6 days ago. As of now, accessing Roobet site doesn't show the Metamask phishing page. And also, Roobet got whitelisted a few days after Metamask's last update.

So, upgrading the extension won't do anything since the phishing lists are fetched directly from their phishing list repository. This also suggests of how the detection works:

As usual Darkelf's art is always been so good but i do still have that feeling that Maus would be still getting the top spot as always.Its really good to look at that Roobet do really make out some active

side promotions like this which they have done this for a while or in every holiday or special events which do really make them different among the rest.
