Anyone watching the XFL? Yesterday I was trying to find something to watch and I found out the XFL already started, I only watched a few minutes so it was difficult to form an opinion about it, but the football withdrawal symptoms are so strong I am really tempted to watch a full game to see what is like.

Watched all games as I browsed the intertubes, it had some good moments but it doesn't compare when you don't really know the players yet.

The bookmaker I use (mybookie.ag) turned scammer halfway through the season apparently :/ there are tons of shitty reviews for them everywhere. They performed one cashout for me once, but it was so long ago, may have been 2021.

After I tried to do a withdrawal they said they didn't like my BTC address as I hadn't used it before. They locked me out of my account and gave me a non-working customer service number to call. I opened a support ticket and got a generic response telling me to call the same (invalid) number.

Sorry about the experience. It's definitely my first time hearing about the casino (would you mind sharing its link?)

There is nothing much members here can do to help recover your money especially if you deposited in crypto.

https://mybcasino.ag/

I was surprised by the title of this thread as MyBookie is a pretty bigtime operation; of course their URL is different:

https://mybookie.ag/

Turns out the casino is owned by MyBookie, at least according to this review.

They advertise on a few podcasts I listen to... they spend a lot of money on advertising, too bad the hosts don't know they have such an awful reputation.

Oh the irony... if only I had read my own comment before making a deposit there.  Roll Eyes

That sucks and honestly unless the book has provided constant cash outs for other people I don't know how they get business.  Too many stories of people getting locked out of their accounts under the premise of the "company" not trusting the deposit lol.  Wierd how they continually operate and nothing ends up happens to them.

Yeah this is why I don't leave too much money / bitcoin in my casino accounts, you just never know.  Duelbits the company we have a campaign for (wheelz, talking to you on this one) seem to be very legit, run ads at pro soccer stadiums over in Europe etc (I know I know, so did FTX smh) so companies like that seem to be a much safter bet and ones that should be used.  I use Bovada mainly (duelbits doesn't allow for US citizens) and they actually won't let you use the same btc address more than once to cash out, so just the opposite of "we don't recognize this address" which is total nonsense.

I watched a little XFL this weekend. Mostly highlights.  I saw Josh Gordan is playing for a team and had a nice TD.  I'll prob try and get in to it a little more.

Sponsoring a sport or a professional teams is not a good way to measure whether a sportsbook is legit or scam.  I don't know if 1xBet is still sponsoring any soccer clubs, but not long ago they sponsored one of the big Spanish teams.  Now they're considered one of the bigger scammers in the industry, and also have been linked to 1xBit, which has many well documented scam accusations.

The best course of action is to never keep much (if any) bitcoin in any custodial wallet, sportsbook, casino, or even legit exchanges like Binance or CoinBase.

I had a XFL game on yesterday while I was cleaning the kitchen, and it was pretty entertaining.  It's obvious the players are "average" in NFL terms, but hell it's football in late February.  Beggars can't be choosers.  Cheesy

I might sit down and watch a game this coming weekend, just to get my head wrapped around the different rules.

Yeah, the kickoff is interesting and I like the extra point options. also I like how they split screen with the guy in the booth doing the replay and explaining what he is seeing even though I disagreed with his call on what I thought was a clear interception in the end zone and not a TD as he ruled it. And saying he "didn't see enough to overturn" is just a cop out imo.

In fact I could watch the second half of the St. Louis and San Antonio game and while the play of both teams was pretty low, it had an interesting ending thanks to the rules of the XFL regarding extra points and the rule which allows teams to keep possession of the ball if they are down and the game has reached the last quarter, this benefits the offense too heavily but if they want to generate interest on the XFL those special rules seem like the way to do it.

I love sending my British friends I've met on the forum memes on the 4th of July, normally stuff about how their tea is shit and what not lol.  I love that, San Francisco Sixty-Niners...much better name if you ask me.

In regards to the XFL and some of the differences between how they play it and the NFL, I agree they are doing some pretty cool/fun things.  The XFL will actually be sort of a test market for the NFL in this way.

Looking forward to watching some of the games this wknd.

I watched some of the games last weekend and I just can't get I to it.  It's good football but I have never been able to get into any of these xfl, arena league, usfl, etc type leagues.  I think the tie to the teams I watch when i was a kid has rooted what leagues I can and can't watch.  Hockey is a great sport to watch but I didn't watch it when I was a kid so I have no ties to it amd can't get into anything more than a game before I lose interest.

I tried watching it last again and I hear you, I just can’t get in to it. The lack of talent comparatively to the NFL is of course very sizable. I’m sure even most of the best college football teams would be beating these guys. So, that’s what makes it so hard to watch for me.  I’m kind of the same way when it comes being interested in sports. I’ve always watched /loved baseball , basketball and football. Same thing w/hockey, I didn’t watch as a kid and I just can’t get in to it now.

Also the majority of the names of the teams are terrible, with the exception of Vegas Vipers which I like the rest of the names range from uninspired to outright awful, which means that even if the XFL succeeds and there is a new season next year they will have to change the names of some of those teams, reducing the support the fans may have for those teams.

I also do not like their schedule seems to be all over the place, I wanted to watch an XFL game and I could only catch the last half of the fourth quarter of DC vs Vegas, so I went to check the schedule and there are weeks with games on 3 different days and the hours change all the time, one of the nice things about the NFL is that I can wake up on Sunday knowing I could watch up to three games if I want and I know when they start, but with the XFL I have to actually know in advance when a game is supposed to be played in order to watch it and this is a problem.

Does the Falcons have the money to give Lamar a contract for 5 years that is fully guaranteed very much similar to Massage Watson's contract with the Browns?

Also, the article mentioned that it will also open a window for the superbowl for the Falcons if they can trade for Lamar? Is this real? I am shaking my head. The Dolphins might have a bigger window for the superbowl with Lamar, I reckon.

The Falcons would probably sell the farm for Lamar Jackson

While Falcons owner Arthur Blank has hyped up quarterback Desmond Ridder’s leadership abilities and liked his four-game sample, don’t kid yourself. If Jackson is available for trade, the Falcons will probably move heaven and Earth to make that happen. Blank has been a mostly reliable owner throughout his tenure (the Deshaun Watson saga notwithstanding), but he’s never gotten his team the Lombardi. Sure, they came close, but horseshoes and hand grenades, etc.

The prevailing wisdom around the situation is that the Falcons surely wouldn’t give up a mountain of draft picks and sacrifice the cap for even a player of Jackson’s talent given the recent issues.

But, c’mon, of course they would.

Jackson is quite literally everything a franchise like Atlanta covets: a marquee player at the game’s most important position who will open a Super Bowl window, sell a ridiculous amount of jerseys, fill the empty seats that have plagued Mercedes-Benz Stadium for years and get people actually talking about the Falcons again.

I am not so sure Lamar will be available as the Ravens can always put the exclusive franchise tag on him and if the negotiations fail he will still have to play for the Ravens, however if Lamar wants out he could follow the formula that Kirk Cousins used to get out from the Commanders and receive the tag on consecutive years and by the third year the tag becomes so expensive the Ravens will have to let him go and only receive compensatory picks instead of actually trading for him.

This is the only way I see Lamar opening a SB window for any team other than the Ravens, because if a trade has to take place for him to play at any other team then not only they will have to pay the huge salary of Lamar, severely limiting the option of bringing free agents, but a trade for him at minimum will entail 3 first round picks and this will limit the amount of talent which can be brought on the draft too.

Does the Falcons have the money to give Lamar a contract for 5 years that is fully guaranteed very much similar to Massage Watson's contract with the Browns?

I could see that happening too.  The problem is that franchise tag is so front heavy.  Who knows what happens but that's probably the best scenario for everyone.  Let's not ignore Lamar does get hurt and laying pit a $300 contract for a guy who can easily miss a quarter or half the games would wreck your squad.  That cap is tough and expensive quarterbacks tend to constrain teams to not being able to get people around them.  I'd steer clear if I was atlanta to be honest.

Yeah but the problem is if you don't seize on an opportunity to get a..lets say..top 10 quarterback, they may be playing musical chairs for decades (or even worse, for a century like the Chicago Bears went through lol).

The falcons have some nice offense weapons in Pitts and London, then on top of that they get an even better weaopon back next year in Calvin Ridley...might be smart to try and go after Rodgers.  Though if I were him, the Jets are currently a more desirable location.  Either way, both teams are better than the Packers with Rodgers on them.

We've all talked about XFL and the other leagues.  Randomly came across this Chad Johnson "Ochocinco" video..didn't realize he played in the CFL.  Here he talks about what I had mentioned before, how legit the Candian League is (just found it pretty interesting) - https://www.youtube.com/shorts/6S7fUTqsASQ?reload=9&feature=share

My next question is which team would be the most to give the risk to trade Lamar for the type of contract that he wants. A contract very much similar to Massage Watson. Also, which team has the money to give Lamar his contract?

The teams where I want to see Lamar go and that might also have the money are Miami Dolphins and the Las Vegas Raiders. They also need a good quarterback.

There’s a few teams that need a quarterback and could afford Lamar, the Dolphins are not one of them. As much as I feel that Tua Tagovailoa needs to hang it up if he wants to have a functioning brain by the time he’s 45 years old, with the Dolphins recently announcing that they are open to resigning Tua, I just don’t think he’s going to leave the game like he should. The Raiders are absolutely a spot I could see him landing. Though I don’t know what their cap situation is like at the moment.

Correction: I stated Calvin Ridley plays for the Falcons, completely forgot he was traded to the Jaguars 🐆

Yeah there are tons of teams who would snag Lamar in a second.  If he is on the field he instantly makes your team a contender that's how good he is.  Where he ends up, no clue.  My bet is that he stays right in Baltimore.  Think vegas is gonna splash and get Rodgers then he can play with davante again lol.
