So far, we have a new commish, i'd say agreement on the platform and scoring type, and at least one new member, welcome @Hhampuz. But what i'd really like to keep from last year is how the draft order is determined. By default, Yahoo chooses draft order at random one hour before the draft, which is OK, but it's way more fun if we do it with BTC blocks, the hash lottery: [1] [2]. Thought it was pretty cool to get our draft spots picked like that, it adds to the league's appeal imo.

Lol I've connected the dots, I've been playing for many years and many leagues each year.  I simply don't agree with you. I've never found this to be the case in the countless leagues I've played in. There is no algorithm, whether it's PPR or not, auto-draft simply drafts whoever is higher up on the their rankings list.  That list is the same for PPR and Non-PPR.

I don't have time to explain simple algorithm design but basically if you can narrow down a variable then you have an advantage and that is why PPR is being pushed. It gives advantage to the big money that moved into the scene.

I'd prefer 10, not particularly opposed to 12 either. I have no experience with larger leagues obviously, but I'm a bit concerned if everyone will have the motivation for the whole season with more people and weaker teams.

If we go with 12 let's pay top 3.

To be quite honest with everyone, I do not know what difference a PPR or a non-PPR league will be for a newbie like me. However, it appears some in group wants PPR. For solidarity within the group and as a compromise, I saw that in some leagues there is a half point PPR. Can we use this?

I tend to agree with this sentiment, I don't see a problem with ChiBitCTy doing it.  Once the initial setup is done I don't know how much influence the commissioner really has on the league anyway.

Other things we can discuss such as allowing leeway on players that were last second scratches getting subbed.

I always check my linupe before a game and have never been screwed by this but I see others that have a real life get boned by this and I always thought it was unfair and it should auto sub  the player with the highest projected points.

Stuff like this can really hurt a casual player.

01. I am fine either way, however a time limit should be put in place, as there are already people practicing for the draft and it is different to draft for a 10 player league than for a 12 player league.

I will abstain to vote on this, as the previous LM with your support it would have been the easiest for everyone for me to keep the job, but I really do not have the time do it, and since in a way I am pushing that job onto someone else then I prefer to not vote about this and I am fine with whoever wants to take the job.

I would vote against as I don't quit grasp the reasoning for having divisions in the first place, I'm guessing it was just the default when you made the league?

Yeah divisions aren't really necessary.  I prefer not having any myself.  I think all they really do is select who you might play a second time versus not having them I think they just select who you play against more than once by random or by the order you simply sign up to play in the league.  

As for when playoffs start...  the last week of the season should never be played.  Many teams sit their best players in preparation for the post- season, so playing that last week is often not very fair as teams will have guys resting on their bench when the games matter the most.  Of course then when you should start the playoffs would depend on how everyone wants the playoffs to go/how many teams to make the playoffs etc ( it sounds like everyone is on board with this).

I would also like to have at least 2 IR spots (i think that's the default setting in Yahoo), 1 was not ideal last year. By the way, the NFL has made some changes in that regard:

Injured Reserve:

The NFL adjusted it's IR protocols to allow players to return from injuries. Players must spend at least four weeks on IR before being welcomed back to the team, and clubs are only allowed to return eight players from the list during the season. Players can return up to twice in a season.

With 12 teams I think I would prefer to have just one regular season game with each other (that's 11 weeks) and expanded playoffs (8 teams and/or 2 games per round) to fill it up to 16 or 17 weeks, instead of having some random games added to the regular season.

I think 12 teams would make things easier since we could have the regular season be 11 weeks long, then still have up to 5 weeks for playoffs without having to play week 17.  Another option for 12 players is to have 4 divisions, and play each of your division rivals twice.  That would make the regular season 13 weeks long, and we'd still have 3 weeks for playoffs without week 17.  I would like to keep the playoffs to 3 weeks, that would make for Quarter Finals (8 teams,) Semi Finals (4,) and Finals for the championship.

We could still do the same thing without divisions, we'll just have two random teams that we each play twice, then select the top 8 teams for the playoffs.

In any case, I might regret this suggestion later. I suggest for everyone's continued motivation until the end of the season, bottom 2 teams pay between $20 and $25 each.

Even though I won the league last year, this scares me.
