Why would you think so? iirc if they released a battlepass, Valve kept 75% of the total purchase and 25% goes to prizepool hence if they actually put in some effort to release a decent battlepass or any other sort of new stuff for the community then they would have gotten significant amount of profit as well. We might never ever reach the ATH TI prizepool anymore but it could be atleast $10-15M

I thought it was in their plan to reduce TI prize pool and distribute it all throughout the year to keep the leagues alive? If that's the case then it still doesn't explain why they have to release a battle pass that is sub-par compared to what they've been releasing in the previous years. The sales of this battle pass is in a slump, and would likely to only be boosted once the discounted levels are live.

Valve's battle pass sales allocation is just too selfish at most. If they plan to distribute the battle pass prize money across all majors that they are sponsoring, it still wouldn't be enough if only 25% of the sales would go to it.

In regarding on betting, then i dont bet on groupstages but im much more having the thrill on betting when playoffs start. This is where the fun do really begins.

I'm in the same boat, and i'll only start placing bets once we get to the next phase because the stakes are similar to a playoff match.

Also, the balance patch just dropped. Several heroes received a slight nerf, the biggest ones were Pango and PA. I'm not sure if the nerf is enough to discourage teams from picking them but some heroes (Spectre and LS) that got buffed might go up in priority.

The prize money couldn't increase every time at the TI, there is always a limit to growth. We probably achieved it at the previous TI. It is also possible that Valve wanted to conduct an experiment and see how much the funds collected would change in relation to the efforts expended and they simply didn't expect that it would decrease so much. They probably thought that society would just buy the compendium even if there was nothing special to be done there to feel the spirit of TI or something like that. I don’t know what’s going on in their heads, but I never bought the compendium, although before that I bought it every year and felt the unwarlike spirit of the eSports holiday.

As a Dota player then TI is the most awaited time or moment or event to happen. Im really that eyeing or waiting for those immortal or arcana sets which i could purchase on
which same goes with those weather effects and some icons which it would bring out that different experience and same as yours on which music packs does really matter
but now on that compedium we are really just getting those stickers with ambient effects. The only thing which is interesting is that Aegis plaque that you could get physically
on which hitting up level 300 on compedium.

Yes, it is things like music and weather effects that greatly add that feeling of celebration and anticipation of an incredible event. Now this is simply not the case. With their big money, these little things could have been done easily, but they didn’t. We'll have to make do without this. In any case, I will watch the streams on TI12.

There's really a huge difference in the prize pool compared to last year. It's a huge drop and I am pretty sure it will also lose interest among fans around the world. DOTA 2 is no longer the same. And I won't be surprised that even sponsors might also start moving away. Valve has to do something in this coming TI since the viewerships will determine its future.

BIG vs ENCE tomorrow, taking safer option bet for over 2.5 maps

Not even close on this, I was pretty sure that BIG is going to win because it was pretty close on ESL pro league between these two so I thought its going to be another close game hence I took over 2.5 maps. Im not sure even if this is a good idea by betting on this, seems to be alot of variable that goes unexpected but I'll give it one more try

Do you know when CS:GO will be left finally and they will pass to CS 2 in official tournaments as well?

Because some time ago they said that it was the last tournament in CS:GO however there must be a few more tournaments which have been organized since then. I assume they are waiting for CS 2 to be fixed more for some more time. I saw even s1mple saying that this game wasn't playable yet so there is still a need to make it much better.

I have been seeing big updates regularly whenever I launch Steam. I hope the game would be ready for tournaments as well soon.

Valve should just add more money on it. Remember that they've already done $1.6M+ as starter for this and it's still under $3M. That's actually their plan. They are to abandon CS:GO to move forward with CS2. There's not many tournaments left for CS:GO while it's still being the official game for CS and major tournaments, although we can't say that CS2 is polished enough to be a platform for huge tournaments specially if there are still some bugs here and there that could potentially destroy a team's strategy.

And now that this is mentioned, the movement still feels off whenever you try to walk or run in CS2. It's as if your character is using rollerblades or something because everything feels so slippery.

Is it only me watching the Worlds' group stage? I've placed a few bets in both the SEA teams (GAM and PSG Talon) to take care of business here since I believe there's a decent gap between the opponents they'll be facing.

Then again there's a lot of hype coming on the side of Loud due to their opening odds as an underdog at 3.00+ before shifting down to 1.9-2.0 as we're only a few hours away from the series.



Edit: 1-1 PSG swept while GAM had a disappointing performance.

Not that I expect anything from SMG because they are not really one of the top team out there but I'd love to watch MC play. Out of all those top tier pos 3 that still constantly play in division 1, they chose MC that plays in division 2 although his solid performance on OG as standin is probably a factor for SMG to consider but its just great that a member of Nigma's team is going to TI

That's also what I have noticed. It seems that MC has been in demand for stand-in plays and despite that, he's not that anymore on his prime or peak plays. He's still one of the best offlaners out there and it can't be removed from him. I just feel bad that his whole squad didn't qualify for two consecutive years already and they've been struggling a lot to get into qualifiers and even in LAN events they don't have many DPC points. I wish to them again on the TI stage because it just feels so different when these idols of ours are always present there. But his achievements were already embedded in him and to his teammates as well. Anyway, wasn't it that Valve has already announced the different pointing system next TI, right? Should this TI is done already, they're going to focus on it and I am sure that MC will get his whole squad or a better and permanent team.

I have just checked about Intel Extreme Masters in Sydney and it's on Counter-Strike: 2 already and that's just 6 days from now on. We're going to see how the pro players have adjusted already on this one.

They had made an announcement of which tournaments were to transistion to the new Source 2 engine and Sydney's tournament was one of them.
But they had some dates which fell this week of others who would be having the update incorporated into theirs as well.
From the looks of it the match between BIG and The Chosen FEW in the ESL Challenger Jönköping EU Closed Qualifers were already using it.
And why not since everybody else being non-pro players are already playing on it! Since CS:S2 was released to the public late last month.

I think few people know the North American CS scene well with such teams as Wildcard (55 rank), Forsaken (46), EG (30), Nouns (65). The ESL Challenger Jönköping 2023 North America Open Qualifier is currently underway. There will be 2 games today:



The teams are far from the world top, but this makes them of particular interest. Some people remember that I like bets with odds higher than 2, so I will bet on Nouns (x2.3)and Wilcard(x2.5) to win. I think the matches won't be boring as some people think. GL

Of the two my bets, one went through with Nouns, but because it was x2.3, then I ended up with a small gain considering the loss with Wildcard. And the fact that Nouns had 65th place in the rating, and EG 30th, is of course very cool, especially with the score 2-1. EG won the first map and relaxed, thinking that they would easily take the second, but Nouns showed their fangs and took Nuke to Mirage.

Today there will be a game between EG and Forsaken (Lower final). I won't bet on this match, it is quite difficult for me to predict the outcome.

Alright, TI is starting so lets get to the real deal right now as I have been suffering for weeks betting on csgo with most of it ended up losing 



Most of the games are probably going to end with a draw so I chose two games that would most likely wont end with a draw. Team Spirit won the last two Major tournaments so they are probably going to win and as for BB, they got the potential for sure hence I picked them

Counter-Strike 2 still looks not completely ready for tournaments. People are even complaining while playing casually because there are still some annoying problems to be solved. Even maps go crazy sometimes and we see two maps interwining each other for example. This kind of things are big issues for professional arena.

However I want to understand the situation anyway. Because when CS:GO was first released it also had some serious problems. From now on every game is released not fully ready. They are improved with updates and feedbacks are really important at this point.

They are updating regularly and the landscape with the netcode will be changing some.  I believe it makes the results more volatile as the game is uneven meaning teams who should win may be upset by any detail of the new game not yet known by all players.
   Im more likely to put down 3 maps instead of just guessing 2 on that basis.  The results arent especially justifying that at present, maybe the shorter game rounds makes a come back less of an occurrence per map;  thats another detail Im not sure sticks exactly depends on the pro players maybe even if Valve perfers it.  
   Spirit beat Movistar but both we beaten by a unbranded French team with 'Lucky' on there.   I dont know them especially but now I have to watch them, the last player by Lucky I knew played as a sub for CLG back when Tarik was a player years ago.

Even if a lot of people are using it and are reporting no issues whatsoever, it's very evident as a player that the game still needs some smoothing and a lot of polishing on the movement side. I've played it for a few hours and I can tell that I'm playing a very different game because the movement feels slippery and crude, like I'm playing an anime shooting game wherein sliding is a game mechanic/feature and not a bug.

Just look at this meme-worthy peek in the game. I believe an official match happened wherein the same thing happened although I'm not certain which game it was, but it only happened yesterday or a day before that.
