Guys, do you think that ICOs could make a come back? I do and here is why. Every year dozens of companies raise money in Silicon Valley for startups, many pre revenue. Also, with the economy injured from nCov19, it would make sense to allow for new economies. This would include letting new startups in Blockchain raise money, and imo if they are well vetted, and trusted by the community, they should be allowed to raise money. What do you think?

there are some things we need to look at:

1 - Most ICOS had Fake Team and plagiarized whitepaper

2 - Most ICOs were meaningless projects, sometimes I read the project and I got the impression that the project scammers looked at blockchain as a magic stick that had superpowers that surpass the powers of god

3 - The few ICOs who had a real team and a real white paper after months could not keep up with things they promised

why we want the ICOS again?

Projects are raising money successfully using IEO.

yes, ICOs left and IEO entered, that is, always have some way to cheat and steal people's money (I still can't understand how people's minds work)

^^^ Can't put it any better than this. The 3rd point was the most important one. Once in a while, we come across good projects with good future prospects and practical usage. But in most of the cases, the team is unable to convert their plans in to reality. This is why I have been saying that the ICOs should go online only after the major part of the development is complete.

Forget about IEO because it's not coming back, it ruined many investors till date, if you have doubts do find time to do research on ICO projects that came out in 2017 and raised money, most of them are either abandoned or dead now

 Ieo ruined many peoples money and thats I can understand. However I do not really understand why would they go back to ICO? After all there were some very good ICO's and some decent ones but there were a million horrible ones as well, so I do not understand why that looks good to anyone, it doesn't to me. At the peak of ICO days there were tons of ones that made a profit for a while, looking at them now after the 2018 bear run they are all done or close to done as well so even the good ones dropped like crazy.

 I would rather see something totally different and new, all these ICO's and STO'S and IEO's are the same, we need something totally different that goes back to roots of how the coins were first created, it should be more about development and features and less about money and marketing if you ask me, that just makes it a business and I do not want my coins to be someones business.

From 2018 to the present, I have not seen any successful ICO. Yes, there are a few ICOs that are still active, but its price has dropped too many times and it is difficult to recover. ICOs have completely failed in this market

But it wouldn't be an ICO anymore. They can still have a crowdfunding but there's no need to let it through an ICO. Most startups that comes from Silicon Valley have higher chances of getting investors than any ICO and they don't have to make it as an ICO.
Angel investors looks forward to them and I don't think they've been thinking of this idea.

yeah, agree, it is hard to expect that ICO time will come back, today or any day after, since there was a bit of scams within ICO time, and most of people do not want to invest in those schemes, new people will be introduced to the market, but do not think that they will join ICO's with IEO and similar investment opportunities available
we need good projects to create new hype, no matter which type of financing will be dominant in that era

There will be no comeback for ICO. That's already glued in my mind that if people will still see an ICO kind of project, there will be no longer an investor on it.
The factor of being a known company is high and there's a chance but I will not take that moment to invest whether they will be the most popular company.

There should be some sort of legal thing about the ICO's that could make things a lot better for them. For example create a company, apply to SEC and so forth, get a license of ICO for example and start it and after you got all investments start working and you will be audited once in a while and that way you would not be able to steal anyone's money or just put some of it aside and just basically all around you would be a company that got investment and that's it, your product would be the coin and you need to work on it.

I never really liked the idea of ICO even for proper creators, you create this coin and maybe you will be rich but it is something that ends, you are not going to have a huge company, all of it will eventually end and you will not have any money left, what is the point of a business like that?

we expect the best for all ICO projects especially as in 2017 where ICO projects are truly beneficial for each other. but now the ICO is no longer as relevant as it was, day after day the ICO is getting worse and investors are starting to be reluctant to invest in ICO again.

This is so true. If we gotta trust on ICO we shoulf be very careful enough to pick on these projects. Most of these project aims are just to have some profits from investors, like what you said, after listing on a good exchange we can have noticed how the liquidity gone slowly and a lot of projects have been delisted due to none liquidity. Most of the new projects are doing an IEO to have a good audiences and chance to gain and attract investors. So I dont know how the idea of ICO would be good.

It is best to stay away from ICO projects because it certainly will not be profitable for you, and the waiting time is usually very long, so surely investors will feel very bored. I think now IEO is a new investment trend and has been mentioned a lot for more than a year, so I believe that you can feel secure when participating. However, there are still fraudulent IEO projects in this market, and you need to consider them carefully.

The last time I witnessed the good ICO was 2017, then when 2018, 2019, up to the present few of the ico are paying good to their bounty participants. But I cannot say is a huge amount, because some are only limited earnings per bounty hunter. I do hope so that this year 2020,
the ICO will come back again just like what happened before on 2017.

i dont think the glory days of ICOs will ever come back. we already passed that stage of crowdsourcing and most projects failed. scammers made it a breeding ground to grab money from naive users!
i dont know what miracle a project can do to bring back the trust in ICO but i dont believe that ICOs will come back in full bloom..jmho

It will never happen, so you can give up that dream. ICO has been replaced by IEO and they are still working well, IEO brings investors safety and helps them to get profit. Today 100% ICOs are scams and will never make investors profitable

Yes it is still allowed for a project to launch an ICO, but it will have a hard time convincing investors to invest in a project in ICO, they should have a good platform and dedicated and trusted team that investors can trust, the bounty campaign should have a wide reach, that can reach every potential investors.

ICOs still have good projects but now are not the trend of ICOs. I don't think it will come back because IEO is much hotter than it. Especially for big exchanges, IEO will be more effective than ever. create opportunities for potential startups to grow and ICOs will have no place in this market. The majority of ICOs are scam now and it's very risky to invest in. We should look for news about IEO in Binance, Huobi global, MXC or Okex. The IEO there will bring you big profits.

Although IEO is far better than ICO because of trust issue and integrity of actual fund raised. Yet IEO can prove to be very costly because of the fee charged by exchanges, IEO still have a huge bottle neck because of bad exchanges colluding with bad project team to scam investors. We have long past ICO era, but a well known team with good sound track will outclass IEO if they use ICO format.

The only downside of IEO are small exchanges, once you go for IEO projects on small exchanges you will surely have a very bad result, losing all your money in the process, success from IEO comes from top exchanges

Everyone has a dream, the desire of investors to invest in the hope of making a profit. Speaking of current conditions many think again  in terms of investment, many tokens / coins was born righ now and the loss of trust from them.  so, my asumstion  is very difficult ICOs could make a come back because no one wants to take the risk with the final result of loss, need recovery time trust related this condition.

Projects are raising money successfully using IEO, if you don't know well ICO was ruined because of many exit scam that happened two years ago, we still have good investors on big exchanges, I don't see any reason to keep hoping for ICO to make a come back.

It's not that all good projects at ICOs die. There are still good performing projects like DRK and they are selling as a package to keep investors long and profitable. It's just that ICOs now contain more garbage, and when investing in projects, it is better to analyze them. We need to have the knowledge to find good ICO and IEO projects and potentially increase 500% - 600%.
