Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Strong developer support is evidence of the superiority of Many coins. The more active the developers, the more likely that cryptocurrency is to succeed. I agree with this. Developers are important because they are key to providing the infrastructure around a coin, allowing greater levels of adoption and ease of use. They also allow greater incentive to adopt the coin through the provision of important goods and services.

My understanding is that the dev is temporarily unavailable and that a team under his supervision is being assembled as we speak.

Someone on the french forum about mining i come from run some tests with a simple rig setup, with 2 x R9 280X

All tests ran with the same frequency etc..
Each algo can be optimized, but for comparison, it's good.

Power at the wall:
Quote
Idle
80-90w

scrypt
550W - 2 x 720khs

Scrypt-N
537W - 2 x 350khs

Scrypt-jane
485W- 2 x 133khs

Groestl
271W - 2 x 7 025khs

Myr-G
295W - 2 x 9 920khs

skein
440 W - 2 x 212 500khs

Keccak
430W - 2 x 316 000khs

X11
285W - 2 x 2 080khs

Result : Groestl is the most gpu friendly algo, for power, temp and noise, even better than X11 Smiley

a little tuning on one of mine:
4 R9 280x + 1 x 7950.
3 R9 are overclocked at 1250MHz, the 4th at 1150MHz - 1.2v
The 7950 runs at 1100MHz - 1.15v
Memory for all 4 run at 1000MHz
Look at the temp (scrypt : between 75 to 83°C)

For the 8MHs'R9 280X :
GPU @ 1250MHz / 1.2v
Gpu mem @ 1000

-I 24 -w 256 -g 1 --thread-concurency 8192
Some cards have better results with -I 19 or I 20
I don't think thread concurrency is usefull btw, but i always put it.

Since Groestl is Austrian hash and hard to pronounce I might simply refer to it as Hashcoin Smiley

or perhaps as a doff of the cap to Adam Back, Hashcash Cheesy

Groestl is the most energy efficient algo out there, and it's worth... 15K usd market cap right now? Mining like a boss.

Hi!

I'm in the final stages of setting up another GRS pool, but I have a problem that I'm hoping you could help me with. Since you have obviously fixed it, as your pools are working.
ocminer, I believe you were asking this same question.

I'm getting these errors:

Any help is much appreciated! Can even pay in GRS for the solution.

I assume that this where it breaks:

    d = address_to_pubkeyhash(addr)
    if not d:
        raise ValueError('invalid address')
    (ver, pubkeyhash) = d
    return b'\x76\xa9\x14' + pubkeyhash + b'\x88\xac'

PS: I modified the quark hash python to use Groest hash function and also changed diff1 to 0x0000ffff00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000:

       elif settings.COINDAEMON_ALGO == 'quark':
            diff1 = 0x0000ffff00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Thank you!

To Boost the Coin we need Somme bounty.
the construction of coin is unfair ,decreasing 6% every week  "so fast: 78% Roll Eyes in one Year & 22% in 9 years " what new miner think  Huh Huh Huh!!!!
with all Altcoin every day miners don't thinks to much they do Sommes calculations & next >>>> coin >>>>

all miner love to be in 78% !! we need to exploit that.

want to see a  new currency with a real value.

We need a bounty for press article too. I can give some GRS myself for it (5K), but we will need more
Article on coindesk, crypto mining blog etc.. would be a great start
focused on algo, or the benefices of mining it (heat, power consumption etc)  -- (or both!)

My english is not very good, so if someone wish to write it..
