PR IDEA

Anybody here who knows a good-looking Danish or Austrian (or German) girl willing to upload a cute, breezy vid clip to help us pronounce the word Groestl would be helping out immensely!

I may go to Austria myself in a couple weeks to try and get some footage of people pronouncing Groestl from the streets of Vienna. I am hoping it will be a playful introduction to this green algo. I will also source the finest Groestl in Vienna for eats Cheesy

Anybody based in Austria or Germany can start doing this NOW

Anybody in Denmark / with Danish connections can do the same

Between the Russian forum, the French miner who posted test results, the Danish core dev and Austrian flavour we have an interesting european crypto twist. Possibly the Austrians will warm to Groestlcoin Smiley

Hi child_harold!

I like your idea. We need more PR material to explain people what GroestCoin is and why it is called this way.
Guys, any other ideas on this matter?

PS: I don't think it's a good idea to change the name of the coin. I think we just need to find a proper way of promoting the existing name.

Thanks
srcxxx

just call it G2

G-coin, G2. Whatever.

Might just refer to it as hashcoin as I mentioned earlier in this thread. Now I see a couple days ago somebody's taken the name for an X11 clone. I might go slap those Hashcoin losers. Groestlcoin is literally hashcoin in Austrian ffs Cheesy

Looking for a bit of assistance - I've set up on Suprnova.cc. First time with the Groestl Algo.  I can run 1 thread at 21 intensity nice though I don't see any accepts.

sgminer -k groestlcoin -o stratum+tcp://grs.suprnova.cc:5544 -u user -p x -g 1 -I 21

my WU also looks weird - any help support?

export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1

before launching sgminer ?

i had that once not letting me submit valid shares

Hi Everyone!

Please PM me if you can help in promoting / PR of GroestlCoin. Or just post into this thread.

Most importantly, we need articles in some crypto-related websites and blog posts.

We have the information to post (like advantages of this algorithm, etc), but we need to find a way of posting it to serious websites.

Setting up a bounty for this should be no problem.

It would be great to do this asap since we just got listed on poloniex.

Thanks

Great news, indeed!  Grin

I'd suggest holding onto the bulk of our coins - that 1900 satoshi is the highest I've seen for GRS.
Clearly this coin has a lot of potential.

Yeah, I saw this in the news. I don't think there is any reason to panic over this in case of GRS.
I am planning to release a new version of the wallet, so I encourage you to propose ideas. I don't think it's a good idea to release new wallet versions frequently, so we need to combine multiple changes together.

Here's what I've heard about so far:

1) Name change. Perhaps G2.
Not sure why we would do this. Don't see how G2 is better than GroestlCoin. I think namechange may do us more harm than good. At least GroestlCoin has direct connection to Groestl hash function. As for G2... What is G2? The logo that we have on the coin? Not sure...

2) Dark Gravity Wave 2
I tried to google it, but could not find info. Which coin is using it?

3) Updating to new Bitcoin Core version 0.9.1
Perhaps it is worth doing it. I'd like to wait for some other altcoin to do this first. If you see it, please let me know.

Anything else... Let me know

Plz help me confirm Asus 6990 Sad I only have 7,7Mh/s with I 21
-g 4 -w 256 is best for 6970
Also install MSI afterburner and unlock overclocking - then downclock memory as low as you can with stable work and increase core-clock

If you're looking for a reliable, fair Pool:

https://grs.suprnova.cc

Still lots of free slots for miners, hop in, we're finding blocks on a regular basis and got all the Googles.

Our Daemon is patched against the various fake share attacks, You really get What You mine.

Still 0 % Fee !

This pool paid earned coin less than cpu-pool.net.That's true

Yes it has wayyyy less hashpower than cpu-pool.net, it cannot pay more than Smiley Just compare the overall statistics and you'll see there mostly the same, just one has high hashpower, the other one low.

I agree with kingimg. I had some worker there. But historical, 4 week, average percentage from suprnova = 154.78% Historical average cpu-pool.net = 104.69%

If you looked at last week is little bit good, but i mean something is wrong. This pool so long dont have luck  or what?

Pls update first link for this pool cpu-pool.net , till today I do not hear about it.

Those overall stats are probably wrong since the code (mpos) is not well implemented for Groestl's Target_Bits, best is always to mine 24h on this pool and 24h on the other pool, than you see differences. If I change the target-bits to for example "20", I get overall percentage of 75% Smiley

Yop, i try this, for 1-2 days.

But:

This pool really dont have a luck with found a block. I really dont know why :/

Ok, results = cca 1800 coin per 24 hours /23,5 Mhash/ If i look in calculator its ok. Ad suprnova pool i had much less. Waiting next 24 hours for results

Was there a wallet update?
I'm getting a „Warning: Displayed transactions may not be correct! You may need to upgrade, or other nodes may need to upgrade.”.
