What an incredibly biased and uninformed article. Haha ya. That guy wasted a lot of time writing that and probably could of saved an hour or more of his time by just randomly clicking through the thread or taking a minute to just ask? Cryptowest has a more thorough reply than I had -- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=526513.msg6642739#msg6642739If you find his contact info let me know and I'll email him that last post by Cryptowest so he can update his page. I've updated the wiki to state that you guys are aware that 90% of your coins were accidentally mined...and you guys are still chugging along as if nothing is wrong about that.

I don't see how finding 450 million unintended coins created on a blockchain and calling it out as a hidden instamine is biased.
Whatever happened, whether on purpose or accident, it happened. to continue on and not adequately tell investors how that episode all went down...that is hiding the instantly mined coins. AKA a hidden instamine.
But just to check here, so I'm not mistaken...
there are around 489.5 million coins in existence now? Is the generation still 1000 per block?
Everyone who was here knew of the programming error (an accident/mistake) -- including investors. There was absolutely nothing hidden about it... I can assure you of that! Just ask anyone who was here... It was a big deal and the threats were in full effect And yes, there is just over 50% of the total coins still available (not sure where you are coming up with that 90%). As for the block payouts, refer to the original post with the breakdown of milestone payout amounts.

"They have decided they don't care that around 90% of their coins have been created accidentally." 1. At what point did we say we didn't care? Haha, that is probably the last adjective to describe our emotions as to what took place. If we didn't care, we would have walked away from the coin and let it bleed out a month ago when this programming error kicked in. 2. Since when does 500,000,000 of 1,000,000,000 coins come out to be 90%?

I was there when the blocks started spitting out 400,000 coin rewards. There were a handful of miners mining, and they got a LOT of the coins. Many millions of those coins were sold at very cheap prices (3-10 Sat) on Bittrex as miners dumped coins. The fork then caused issues as the bad nodes from the wallets of completely oblivious people were kept open and were confusing the network. People were freaking out and wondering what the hell was happening, and it was chaos on the boards. There was a dedicated community of coders and miners and such hanging out in IRC trying to fix all the issues. Since then, the wallet has been fixed, at least as far as I am concerned (no problems since i started using new wallet and avoid bad nodes). The coin shot up on the Mintpal voting boards and brought renewed interest. The dev has been way more present here on the boards of late, and things have been working much better. There are bad nodes still causing issues for people with bad nodes in their Conf files. Luckily, that issue is known, and is addressed when brought up here on the boards. So there was no instamine. The miners mined for several days until the fix could be made so that the fork would work. So when the decision came to either re-launch the coin (and piss off a LOT of people) or to fork, they chose to fork, which caused more issues. We are now coming OUT of the tailspin and are on an upward trend. For people like me, who were present and involved during the "dark days", the huge coding issue made it possible to buy many more coins that we otherwise would have been able to afford (the old price was ~200 sat pre-problems). So in essence, due to the issues, the coins were released in large numbers very suddenly in to the market. They were bought up, and now people are itching to sell them at the much higher prices. We are seeing some dumpage, but not much. This tells me the first day on Mintpal could be pretty scary. We shall see how the coin fares when the large holders decide to exit, and how quickly. If the fork issues can be for the large part resolved (there may always be one bad node out there), and the charity aspect gets implemented, and the marketing is done right, then the coin has a lot of possibility. Hope the summarized history helps some people avoid going through dozens of pages from over a month ago.

If you know how mintpal works, then you'd understand that we -- the coin team -- had nothing to do with it. The community voted us to the top and that is where we are today. If their intent in voting dozens of times per day was to dump their coins on a "bigger exchange," then I suppose that is possible, but not very realistic.

Hi.. My wallet will not sync. I've tried every option mentioned in the forum discussions.. Downloaded new wallet, renamed files, and put original name of files back in/on, removed conf file, put conf file back on/in, replaced nodes, Put updated nodes back in/on, removed mentioned bad nodes. and even put the ketchup on the side. Is there a universal fix yet? I have many coins in my wallet locked up, I have coins in/on the network that have not reached my PC wallet from BITtrex in a transfer. I went back and forth with Richie from Bittrex trying to get it to sync. He got back to me yesterday stating issue still persist even on his end from time to time. I tried to reach out to CWC through there website, I've sent a PM message to CWC here, and no response on both attempts.
Please update me with the latest info. I've been spending too much time on this, while maintaining a full time job and other household duties.
I can supply more info once I get in from work today. I would like to get this resolved before trading commences on MINTPal, who was not able to help me either.
PS.. I've downloaded and new wallet more than 10 times. and removed all aspects of CWC. But backedup several copies.
Thanks in advance, ian

There are no hidden coins. There was a programming error at block 7001 which caused block payouts to jump from 1000 WATER to 450,000 WATER. There was nothing hidden about that if you go back and read the thread

Hi guys, it seems like your coin have a cool story - I enjoy following it. Wonder what will come further. Also I wanted to mention that I've downloaded a wallet recently, and it syncs and works pretty fine. The whole day I was testing it by sending my coins from the exchange to the wallet and back in various amounts, and everything seems to be ok. I hope that 0.1% donation feature will be released soon so all the movement of funds on the exchanges would affect the charity campaign.
