French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1)

In the French Soccer League yesterday Lens vs Marseille in the match between these two teams, Lens scored 1 goal and won the match. In the first half of the game, neither team could score a goal for a very good performance. However, Lens team scored 1 goal before the end of the game.  Player J. Gradit scored in the 90th minute. Marseille team tried hard to score in this match but Marseille team could not score any goals due to the great performance of the goal keeper of Lens team.

Lens is statistically the favorite to win the match due to the following reasons:
They won three and drew one in their last five matches against them.
They are in good form compared to them because of their league positions.
They started the season well compared to Marseille, which has started winning matches lately.

Even though Lense's last five match results were not impressive, they have a good team that is well experienced, and I am sure yesterday's win against Marseille will be a motivational win for them to keep competing for the top four in the league.

I always understand that if a team performs very well in the previous season and becomes bad in the following season, this condition is normal and there is no need to worry as long as there are quite good changes and in fact Lens is able to continue to avoid the relegation zone and continue to climb to the top of the rankings.

in the upcoming matches it looks like there will be matches sacrificed to lose between the matches before the UCL or after. because the schedule against Clermont and Lyon is very close to the UCL schedule so Lens have to sacrifice 1 match to draw or lose and it is impossible to appear strongly in 3 matches while the UCL match is very important. but according to my predictions, against Clermont it will only end in a draw or loss because Lens doesn't want to waste too much energy and remains focused on fighting Arsenal in the UCL and against Lyon it will be a little easier for Lens to get additional points.

I still think that teams should put on top of their previous seasons to get overall better, getting worse makes no sense to me. Look at Leicester City or Lyon, they never put on top of their success and they are terrible. Lens has to do better, well in fact every team should get better, doesn't mean that they are going to be better at standings, just because they did better it means others did better too, but they should LOOk better at least.

Some teams end up doing better, sell players for some profit, and then pocket that money and do nothing. I am sorry but that is not how it works, look at Napoli, look at Dortmund, there are so many teams that are managed terribly if you ask me, and Lens is one of them. PSG is already biggest, but you can be consistently second place if you know what you are doing, if you fail that, you are not going to end up being good at all, it will not help you at all. I feel like that is a terrible result in the end, it's just not going to be decent.

Marseille actually seem to have had a bad day because they did played better and had the best performance when compared to that which lens did played but then the lens keep was in his very good form that day as he did made brilliant saves that really did helped the team maintain their frame all through the match.

Marseille was expected to win that game in their form which was asumed to be better when compared to that which lens had, but them they had a bad day as all their chances was not been converted well enough to get a goal and the defense line from lens aswell did a good job with their resistance, in foot ball underestimating any team is what any team shouldn't do to another because Marseille appeared like a better side which they actually are but luck wasn't on their side that day but then they did performed greatly.

Monaco is one of the best club in Ligue 1, but sadly they are lacking consistency which is surely problem for them in last three games they already lost five points which bring them to third spot and after break they are going to face PSG which mean things can go more down for them even they will still stay at this spot, but they need improvement in quality with performance could be also needed improvement their last game against new promoted side Le Havre they fail to end deadlock which bring them with just one point and goalless draw it is really shameful performance as we all know French league is lacking many things which are not setting due to lack of funds and strong base which is surely hurting big clubs as well if they are not able to improve than surely more consequences have to face in quality and performance.

Ligue One is mainly on another level with full competition from every single clubs. Monaco would have climb to second position but they relaxed to settle for lesser result. I don't understand the whole situation regarding the problem on ground with Monaco this season. They have been very inconsistent with their actions and having terrible performance in league games, Adolf Hütter seems to be reluctant in his duty as headcoach, because if he's fully active in his position, there are certainly some games he would have won, just like the draw tie against Le Havre, it was dissapointing and Monaco performance declined.

Monaco's problem has been in defense, last season they also had the same problem, they managed to score a lot of goals but conceded a lot of goals to the point of not being able to win many games, this season they are doing very well in defense when compared to last season, but even if this season they have improved in defense, it would still be very difficult for them to win the league1, this is because PSG has a good attack, has a better squad compared to Monaco and has a better defense compared to Monaco. If Monaco have good attack and not wasting any opportunity then they could be champions. But this is something I highly doubt will happen.

for example in the game against havre ac, in my opinion havre ac was the best team on the field and deserved to win, they wasted a penalty and on the other side I didn't see anything dangerous coming from Monaco. It was a game in which Monaco were lucky to end with a draw, because they were very close to losing. havre ac has been a team that hasn't lost in recent games, they have a string of draws and in this game against monaco they achieved a good result in my opinion. a draw gives them 1 point and puts them in position number 7

Lille having good start of this season with currently they are undefeated in last 9 games in all competitions, but their performance in Ligue 1 is surely need improvement they bring down themselves at this spot after few bore draws specially against Toulouse which are at the bottom but done good job against them here now next match against Lyon which is at the bottom of the league table and having first win against Rennes is good for them now as Lens is also improving for the better spot challenges are coming for them to have consistency otherwise they can bring themselves into trouble for the top ranks.

Monaco and Nice are good but as we all know how unpredictable and bad is Ligue 1 things can take any time any change which is surely not good, but each of the teams need consistency which will allow them for staying into hunt for the better end hopefully in coming days we will have good improvement.

Lile are really having a good start to the season even though they’ve come short at some point but credits can’t be taken away from this side, the match against Toulouse was a very intense one and was kind of expected because Toulouse who sits around bottom of the log are really a stubborn side and could pose a threat to any team they encounter.

 Toulouse would go into another match with fellow team in the bottom of the table, Lyon who just got their first win, would be fighting for another to get out of relegation zone, but Toulouse won’t be an easy fixture for them only if they’ll be clinical in their chances, Ligue 1 is really improving with quality teams but I think consistency will be key to making this league a competitive one across Europe.

PSG are on fire with having winning streak in the last 5 games. it seems that their compactness as a team is back as it should be. Luis Enrique has been showing his capability as manager by working so well on something they should improve. Monaco are having inconsistency so far. after having a good start of the season by being at the top of the table, They dropped so many points from last few games that they were expected to win. Luka Elsner need find solution for their inconsistency, Their midfield is not working very well when they have situation to defend which leads their defense looks vulnerable.

Monaco have dropped points in two of their last three matches. Monaco's points gap with PSG is now 3. I thought Nice and Monaco's performances would be consistent and it wouldn't be easy for PSG to top the table. But PSG are now at the top of the table. Although PSG is only 1 point ahead of Nice.

Monaco has managed to field a very strong squad this season. However, their defence is weak. If the Monaco coach can tighten up their defence, this team's overall performance will be even stronger. But in the end maybe this season we will see the dominance of PSG in Ligue 1.

PSG is now leading the competition. Monaco was missing a chance to stand at the top place. I think that this is very hard for monaco. It's caused by the club needs to work even harder to replace PSG again. Nice is now at the second place but it seems like that if PSg will be dominating the league till the end of season. PSG is not starting to discover its best form again. People may not feel happy with it but as long as nice and monaco can keep up to be on the second and third place till the end of season and everything will fine.
The next match will be very interesting match. PSG will face monaco which is placing at the third place. The result from this match will determine the position at the end of season. PSG needs also to focus in the UCL as well.
The club needs to put more of its focus on winning the match against monaco. My sense said that if PSG will win the upcoming game.
Monaco rarely had good stats when it was playing at the parc de princes.

The PSG team's performance at the beginning of the season was not stable. Teams like Nice and Monaco could have made good use of this opportunity. But they could not take advantage of the opportunity. Monaco's performance is a bit erratic right now. Getting to the top of the table has become much more difficult for Monaco now.

The Nice team was at the top of the points table for a long time. But I don't think this team is very strong. Their match strategy is quite good, that's why they are second in the table. However, their gameplay is not strong enough to dominate Ligue 1. They scored only 13 goals in 12 matches. Nice's attacking weaknesses are well understood. If Nice want to dominate Ligue 1, their forwards will need to perform better.

Did they really expect to average like more than 2 points per game or something? I don't believe so. I think this start into the season was quite realistic and while I don't like the talk about how it is a burden to top clubs when they play many competitions, this is rather true for a small club like Lens. Handling the pressure from playing Ligue 1, Champions League and Coup de France is much harder for Lens to cope with than for PSG.

Last season, Lens only participated in two competitions, namely Ligue 1 and Coupe de France. plus they also have some pretty good players, so Franck Haise was able to maximize the team's squad to finish in 2nd place in Ligue 1. In last season's transfer window, they sold several quite prominent players and brought in several newcomers according to the club's budget. Unfortunately, their performance did not match the expectations of Lens supporters. they got off to a difficult start to the season, without a win in their first five matches.

However, gradually, their performance began to increase even though it was not stable. This is natural, considering that Lens is taking part in a competition at a level above Ligue 1. Automatically, the pressure comes from both outside and inside. as we can see, Lens performance is unstable. However, in Ligue 1 their performance started to get better. Now Lens is in 6th place in the Ligue 1 standings, even though they are 4 points adrift of the team above Reims.
Ideally, if Lens perform optimally, it would be better for them to only focus on the Ligue 1 competition. In this way, the probability of their performance changing for the better seems to be able to be increased. For the Champions League, even though Lens are in 2nd place, their chances of qualifying seem difficult. Moreover, with the existing player material. They may be on the decline, but I don't think it's right to say they're in a state of inconsistency.
The meeting of these two clubs will be very interesting, and to be honest I want to see Monaco get a point, at least 1 point is a good result for them, yes although further I hope they will win. Not without reason, I want to see that because I want to see the competition get more competitive.
Although I also realize that to get just 1 point will be very difficult for Monaco, but it is not an impossible thing that they will get.

If I consider the odds available at this time, at least PSG is still favored to win. Because anyway, at this moment at least PSG has also managed to be at the top of the Ligue 1 standings and also, that PSG will play at home. But even so, if I consider their matches last season, then we will get results that show that last season PSG failed to beat Monaco. Olympique Marseille boss, Ivan Gennaro Gattuso was frustrated and dissapointed in the last minute of the game, alot of things happen because they relent and couldn't defend their territory. Losing 1 nil to Lens was not the plan at all, what he was aiming for was either to grab a win or shared points with the home team at Stade Bollaert-Delelis. Le Racing Club de Lens is a top team in Ligue One and the players are not holding back interms of displaying wonderful performance against their opposition. Winning Olympique Marseille was not an easy job for the home team.

Lens has been a growing team of recent, they seem purpose driven and are ready to work towards achieving a result, the coach on the other hand keeps his best at the top in building them up week after week to be better, they've got eyes on some competitions and are trying so hard to stay on track, for them as a growing team, they'd need a more focused target and aim better there than aiming at thesame level in all contests.

 The France ligue 1 seems a bit more favorable for them, so I suggest that they focus their energy more on it then the other contests stay as back up, there's still a high probability of surviving through the top spots in the league than struggling through winning the European cup, they've had a rough start and they can still prove a point, there's ample of time left.

Lens is still in an uncertain situation right now, so I totally agree that betting on them is a huge risk. They are erratic from match to match, it makes it difficult for us to predict what they will show in their matches. We can see from their statistics this season, in LIgue 1 itself, from the 12 matches they played, the number of wins, draws and defeats has the same number, namely 4.
For me personally, I would prefer to avoid betting on a team that has a situation like Lens, and that applies not only to Lens, but to all teams. Especially if I do a multi bet, one bet will destroy our successful bet.

Sports betting and gambling is all about uncertainty and risky with currently we have too many teams which are performing not as they were expecting which is surely wired situation so placing bets on them is surely not ideal Lens was really awful in early matches, but now they are recovering with having good performance in last few matches which bring them to the sixth spot which is also good, and they can jump into top 4 as well which will ideal for them, but they need to be settled which is important.

Most chances they will be having early exited from the Champions League which will help them for having better results in Ligue 1 and this could be helpful for them and surely this will give them advantage for staying at the better spot for the rest of this season.

But on the other hand we also cannot be blindly when making a bet and indeed even though there is definitely a risk, especially in football, we know that the high probability or favourite will not completely be the winner in every match that is done but if we can minimize the risk and not be too impulsive in a bet then we at least know what bets to make.
I personally for now avoid some clubs in each major league such as for Manchester United and Chelsea in the EPL and of course Lens in Ligue 1.
As for them about the Champions League with their current condition it is actually still possible for them to qualify, it's just that even if they qualify but it also won't be able to do much in the next phase.

I actually think that when the teams start thinking about money, too much, they start performing badly. As long as they are thinking about bringing in good performance and trophies, they perform well. Doesn’t mean they don’t have to worry about their finances. But good performance should be the priority. Is something like that happening to these clubs? I think it is. Whenever any team starts to think that they are going to sell the current players that they have and bring in players with that same money, they make a bad deal. Especially when they think about saving money. Just like Dortmund, club which is really famous for selling their best players for money.

I don't know why we often see things like this happen, it was very impressive in the previous season but in the following season you have to fight to be able to perform like before, sometimes there are even those who have to fight to get out of the relegation zone. Luckily, Lens are still far from the relegation zone, even though they still have opportunities. to be able to get a place in one of the European competitions if they can shift the team above them, but currently, they are four points behind Reims in fifth place in the standings.

That's how the competition takes place and if the club is not ready to start the competition until the end of the season it will result in the club being relegated or failing to qualify for the Champions League and Europe. Lens performed well in the previous season and now they have lost the ability to maintain their best position in the top five, nothing has really changed and maybe because they have lost concentration due to the busy match schedule they follow. Lens have collected 16 points from 12 matches and they have suffered four defeats at the start of the season, but slowly their performance is improving in Ligue 1.

At the end of the month, they have to go to the Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal in the champions league, maybe they will be able to focus more because the previous match will only be against Clermont although they must not be careless and after the match against Arsenal they will face a team that is no less weak than Clermont, namely Lyon, and they should do well in these two Ligue 1 matches to get full points so that it doesn't become more difficult to enter the European zone.

Lens managed to beat Marseille in the last match, but this was not good because they were only able to score a goal in the 90th minute. Before playing against Arsenal, Lens first had to face Clermont Foot, so Franck Haise had to prepare a lot of time before heading to the match in the Champions League. Facing Arsenal will be much different even though they previously managed to win the match 2-1 at home. Lyon has just gets their first winning this season from Rennes and this result indeed still not able to lifted up their position from relegation zone on standings league but at least Lyon has showing good progress under Fabio Grosso but next match will be hard for them because after international break they will fight against tough team Lille and if we see from head to head statistics i can see both teams can beated each other but if we see from the current conditions Lille was much better than Lyon because this team still unbeatable in the last 9 matches so Lyon most likely will get in trouble and Lille recently has just gets 3 draw streak in all competitions and they will utilized Lyon condition to return to winning ways and in my opinion Lyon probably will tasted another loses from this match
