Nice drew goalless with Montpellier. This is why the team has to lose the top spot. I know the Montpellier team is not strong. However, I am not at all surprised to see such a result in this match. Because I don't think the Nice team is very strong. I was actually a bit annoyed to see this team at the top of the table.

Nice team scored only 13 goals in 12 matches. The team held the top spot in the table only because of their strong defence. Their offensive performance is quite poor. Monaco, who are third in the points table, have scored 25 goals in 12 matches. I think only Monaco can stay in the title fight with PSG this season.

They're not not strong, but they don't have very good goal productivity so that's going to hold them back in the games they play, and one of them in this game forced them into a draw. Their defense is strong, but it's not matched by a strong attack.
If they continue like this and don't make any changes then don't be surprised when they will be further displaced in the standings. In the transfer market they must bring in players who can answer all their deadlocks in attack until this week. That is one opportunity for them to take advantage of.

I think the best option for Olympic Lyon is to buy more players in January transfer window as their current form now is nothing to write home about considering the fact that they have won the France league title for a record of 7 good times. They need to improve in their performance as being in the relegation zone of the league is not good for the club.

Buying the new player will not be working. Lyon totally needs a new coach and players. Buying the new player while still keep the old coach will not give significant impact to the club. Lyon was wrongly fabio grosso as a new appointment while the club needs a good coach. Gross was bad and look at the current position of lyon. I also see what you say is quite clearly experienced by Olympic Lyon, because even though they still have time to recover with new players next winter, I am also not very sure that Olympic Lyon will be able to save themselves from being relegated at the end of this season. However, if for example Olympic Lyon is able to do that by implementing several changes after winter, I think that is a miracle that has come to Olympic Lyon. Because just being in the top fifteen will not be easy for Olympic Lyon this season after being so far behind the other teams.

logically very correct speculation PSG will be very strong in competing at home even though Monaco is stable condition but in terms depth player performance PSG is superior to Monaco but only problem is during this international break whether there will be problems with some the player who are favored because several players in other leagues suffered injuries while competing for their country and if there are no problems with the PSG players it seems like victory is in sight for PSG and if the match against Monaco fails to get those 3 points it looks like the competition to maintain the top the standings will still continue before PSG really consistently it will be difficult to be at the top the standings until end of the season.

What Lyon needs now is to completely overhaul the current players to replace them with more quality players and of course this all depends on how the coach will bring in more quality players and to improve the quality of their performance to remain consistent and get every win in several matches and with With this consistency, I believe it will be easier for Lyon to quickly avoid relegation.
If all the plans I have said fail, it is very likely thats Lyon will remain in the relegation zone because if they don't immediately catch up, the difference in points will be even greater.

Lille's current form gives them the edge over Lyon. Their five-game streak displays consistency, which Lyon lacks. I think they'll seize the chance to close the gap on Monaco. Lille is likely to win due to their depth and success this season. Lyon's situation is dire. They are a shell of their former selves in relegation. It's bizarre to witness a French football powerhouse struggle. Their recent success is a small indication of life. They must overhaul, possibly starting with the coach. Fabio Grosso hasn't changed things, and player signings won't fix their fundamental concerns. Their season is challenging, thus I doubt they'll beat Lille.

Talking about Rennes, this team is usually in the top 4 of the standings or sometimes in the top 10 of the standings. But what is happening now is that they have been thrown to 13th position in the standings and are getting closer to the relegation zone. Rennes, usually always consistent, has now experienced a significant decline in performance and in the last 5 matches they have not won at all and that means they have lost 14 points since then because they had 1 draw in some of those matches.

Now Rennes' challenge will be even more difficult because they will play Reims in the next match and if they lose of course they will be in the relegation zone temporarily considering that the difference is very small from the teams below them.

It seems I agree with you, Lyon needs a new more experienced coach to improve their performance, in the winter transfer window later if Lyon still not show a good performance. Although Fabio Grosso is actually not too bad, because he can bring Frosinone Calcio to compete in Serie A this season. @harapan I remember that season as it was a big upset for me personally because I never thought that Monaco would win the league title and then when Falcao came I was very excited but it felt that he was jinxed horribly because he couldn’t score only for Manchester United. Furthermore Monaco’s form went down because they sold their title winning stars and that’s why it wasn’t surprising to see them underperform as the year’s have gone by.

But all too often people put it as if clubs like Monaco had a choice and decided to sell their players instead of keeping them, but this is not how it works when we are talking about "title winning stars". What do you think how long it would take Real Madrid or PSG to make an offer to any player that scores 20+ goals in Ligue 1 and decisively contributed to winning a title? Their hands are literally tied because the players often have contracts that are about to expire in the near future and they don't have the financial means to top up the salary to a level that could compete with Real Madrid or PSG. This is how economic cycle in football works. Smaller clubs get lucky and this title winning star, raise him and then they have to sell him to the rich boys in the house. There isn't much that these clubs that are between 2nd and 1st tier can do.

This is the system how it works right? The big clubs are always going to go for the players who are performing well. And the offers are also going to be so good that very few clubs are actually going to be able to reject them to keep the players that they have. Sometimes the players also want to leave willingly. Just because they want to play in a club that has legacy, which is actually very much understandable by the way. So when the bigger clubs are actually throwing money to get a certain player, I think it is rest assured that they are definitely going to get that player.

Hey duke, nice post! I always like when someone looks at things with a realistic view. It is understandable as you said, when players want to leave because they have this once in a lifetime opportunity (at least it feels like that for them in that point in time). But sometimes I think players should also not forget who fostered their careers. That is why I am a strong opponent of skipping training sessions, pretending to be injured and blackmailing the clubs that helped them grow into agreeing to a transfer.

Apart from that though I think in most cases it is the offer that the clubs can't decline. When they have a player that grows from 10m market value to 100m market value in two years, what can they do when the offer appears on their screen? Either the club itself has a legacy or unlimited cash or the player will undeniably leave either as a free agent or for a lot of money. That's the two choices - both painful - the smaller clubs have.

Nice team surprised everyone with their performance. The performance of the team was quite stable. And for a long time they were at the top of the points table. Nice's defense is the strongest defense in Ligue 1 this season. However, they lack talented players in their attack. Consistently performing well and staying at the top of the table is much more difficult without a strong attack. My guess is that the Nice team will gradually fall back in the points table. And perhaps in third or fourth place we will see the Nice team in the future.

I am eagerly waiting for PSG vs Monaco match. If PSG can win this match, their points gap with Monaco will be 6. And a win for Monaco would put them level on points with PSG and make the title race even more competitive. I will be happy if Monaco can win. So this season in Ligue 1 we will not only see the dominance of PSG.
