Lille are still terrible at defending. They weren't having any problem with scoring but they were conceding goals very easily at the same time. As a result I was expecting the Marseille - Lille match to end over 2.5 goals which happened just as I expected. Marseille are on a really incredible run as this 2-1 win made their winning streak five matches in the league.

This is when I start betting against teams like this, odds will probably get worse and worse for their opponents as they rack up the win streak, so I'm hoping to see special flavouring odds but still annoyed it's only just above 3/1 with Rennes... though in 2 days Frankfurt is over 4/1 to win against them in Champions League.

Or is this time to double on the money on Marseille?

I think scoring goals is just a bonus and a plus for the players. Yes Messi became the holder of an important role when the goal was created in this match. I understand it's not about whether he scores or not. But if he could score then it would be amazing because his performances coupled with getting his name on the scoreboard.

Messi has been changing his playing in last couple of years and now he is more likely a play maker. He contributes more key passes and assists than goals. In the second season in PSG, Messi has a better connection with Neymar and especially Mbappe. Early matches in this season show that when Messi made some great passes for Mbappe.

Due to the age factor that makes Messi have to fill the position as a play maker, Messi seems to really enjoy his position serving Neymar and Mbappe on the front lines with the acquisition of 7 assists in Ligue 1. Messi new role can help Neymar and Mbappe with accurate passes from Messi to convert into goals , Neymar and Mbappe are also very productive with 15 goals they scored, with details of 8 goals from Neymar and 7 goals from Mbappe. The sharpness of PSG attack cannot be doubted, with the quality of players above average, making PSG very difficult to stop in Ligue 1.

However they are still not very reliable because we watched them being out of the title competition so many times before. It is normal of course as they can't play at the same level with PSG every week. I'm glad with the nice rivalry between them for now. But it is up to Marseille to stay right behind them. PSG wouldn't lose points easily against much weaker teams. But a tight schedule might change something. It is a difficult task for Marseille but they will need to make an extra effort to benefit from those opportunities.

There is a huge difference of the fact that one of them scored 25 goals and got scored on 4 times, while the other did the same goals scored but they only managed to score 15, meaning 21 to 11 difference.

So, even though they are the same points, one of them is dominating the league like crazy and that is why I am expecting it to reach to a point where that difference in goals will also show the difference in the points as well, it may not be right away but that gap will grow bigger and bigger and eventually the points will be showing 10+ points easily, a 15 to 20 point difference by the end of the season wouldn't be shocking to me at all.

Well I expected to see PSG having 10 goals difference by the end of the 10th round but it appears that the other teams are still resisting!
Marseille have the same number of points, Lens is following them closely with online leay 2 points difference.
Monaco dropped earlier in the race but they seems to be recovering. They are leading with 2 goals to 0 vs Lyon before 20 minutes of the game.
Overall, Marseille is the only one imo that will keep annoying PSG, assuming they will not lose much points. Not sure if Lens can keep up with this form until the end.

It is very surprising that Marseille and PSG are equal on points. And while PSG has scored 13 points in their last 5 matches, Marseille has scored 15 points in their last 5 matches.
Marseille is playing very well. So will Marseille battle PSG this season? This is likely to happen. Because Marseille has the strongest defense in Ligue 1 after PSG. They conceded only 4 goals in 7 matches. And if the defense is strong, Marseille will be able to keep their position in the points table unchanged for a long time.
I'm looking forward to the PSG vs Marseille match in October. If Marseille doesn't drop points against PSG then winning the Ligue 1 title won't be easy for PSG this season.

The French league season is here again, and I know it not that competitive with Paris saint German dominating it every season but it doesn’t still mean it less interesting. I see Monaco and some other clubs signing some interesting player to their squad and I know it going to be a turf season ahead, another team not to right off this coming season is Lyon, they are going to put in a big fight for the league ahead of this coming season so let watch and see what happen by the end of the season.

PSG is slowly improving and they are stabilizing. But the ill effects of Mbappe's selfishness can be seen in PSG's performance. Ligue 1 teams are relatively weak. So if they miss one or two opportunities, PSG can still score plenty of goals. But every chance is precious in the Champions League. If PSG misses any scoring opportunity due to ego or selfishness, then the match is more likely to be lost.

For now, Marseille seem to be one of the credible teams to bet on for me. Of course this great form will be stopped by a team but it is difficult to predict what team it is going to be. They have a PSG match in Parc des Princes in a month so maybe they can stumble in that match finally.

For their Frankfurt match, I think that they can win this one. I really appreciated their durability against Tottenham last week. If it wasn't for the red card they might have even stolen at least one point. Despite the red card they still resisted them well. Frankfurt don't seem strong now as Sporting destroyed them 3-0 in an away match. Marseille should also be able to get their first win in the group. Their odd is 1.93 now which is very tempting for me.

However, the performance of Marseille and Lens this season is quite stable. Marseille won 6 out of 7 matches and Lens won 5 matches. Marseille and Lens will be PSG's worthy rivals for the title.

It's really good that Messi is not selfish and focuses on his teammates' scoring. Messi was named man of the match in 5 of 7 matches in the league. I'm sure we will watch a great Messi if he can just get rif of a bit of bad luck on him. On the other hand, in one of the best teams in the world as PSG, if you have a bad opponent, a lot of players can play this great. Let him play at ManU, he cannot do probably half of what he is doing now. One's rivals are Arsenal Liverpool, the other has Bentz or Clermont as opponent. Brest game was a game that PSG should have beaten by big lead. If only Mbappe could break his selfishness. Sometimes he is hurting the team. Even though PSG got three points, there are uncertainties about their overall performance for the whole season in my opinion.
