talking about poor performance in domestic competitions actually for now, I think Lens is still a little better than seeing what happened with Lyon because they are the club that is the worst in the decline in performance if we do a comparison of this season with last season.

Clermont no had a chance in that match to get points, because Nice were unstoppable at the moment. Actually, if you look at the head to head record in the last 3 matches, Clermont is a great opponent for Nice, but this season Clermont performance is doubtful and cannot give me the confidence to choose them in that match. The recent game Clermont had against Lyon and they won the game is not a good reason to say Clermont has a good performance or they are in the good form yet, I think Clermont got no chance against Nice and they only won the gem against Lyon while Lyon is on the crisis and I think the rate in the game between Clermont and Nice is good enough if we bet on Nice.

It is logical to assume that the team in second place from the top will win against the team in second place from the bottom  However, I am not surprised that the odds for Nice to win are almost 2 (1.95), apparently the bookmakers take into account that Clermont does not concede many goals as an outsider, and Nice has certain problems with performance. The danger that the game will end with the score close or equal to 0-0 is great.

Ok I guess we have a basis here that we both agree on, but just see that we have had some abnormalities recently when it came to teams that played weak in their domestic league while making big steps in international competitions. Sevilla did do the exact same thing last year when they had big problems in La Liga but won the title in the Europa League. Well you're right, not many clubs in the French League are financially capable of getting top quality players that would come into their club and make a difference for them, there are only few clubs that are capable of doing that and that's why the competition in the league is amongst those few and even the clubs that work hard and try to get to the top end up not being consistent thre following season due to same financial issues with many clubs in the league.

Nice is indeed the only club that has not been beaten this season from the 9 matches they have played, and with the opponents they will face this time it looks like they will be able to continue that positive trend. But on the other hand I am quite worried about them, because they are also one of the clubs that have not too good goal productivity. Only being able to create 10 goals from 9 matches in my opinion is a problem. Although they are also the club with the best defense so far, but if they cannot be more productive in scoring goals it will make them difficult in the future. I hope they realize their shortcomings in this regard.

Clermont is currently too weak a team to beat Nice, Struggling at the bottom of the table with hopes to leave the relegation zone before the league ends is a good level of weakness already exhibited, because they have played nine game already this season and they are able to get just five points keeping them just two points from the last position on the table, definitely they have had a really poor start this season.

Nice currently at the second position with good performance this season is a better side, Nice also have a better squad and dept as compared to Clermont so I almost don't see a chance for Clermont but then just like football will come with it's suprises at times, it's very much possible Clermont fights to get a draw as they will be playing from home, that advantage is all they have gat in this game.

What is wrong with Lens is beyond expectations because they were superb last season they played very brilliantly and nearly won the league if PSG had made any mistake at the late stage of the league cause they finished 2nd position with just 1 point behind PSG however this season they're nothing to talk about and with the way they're performing one won't even believe they finished in the top four last season, however they might have won several matches suprisenly but they need to be consistent if they want to atleast finish top 6 this season.

 Werll I won't be suprise if they get a bad result this week cause they've already shocked me with their inconsistentcy this season, i expected them to be in the position of Nice fighting to taking away the title from PSG but they're not even close to top 10 and with the way they're going I doubt if they'll end qualify for conference league.

I will bet on Nice winning because this is clear and there is no doubt that Nice will win again. Currently Nice is in its best performance and they will continue to maintain this advantage so that the competing teams below them cannot overtake them easily. The rivalry with Monaco is certainly worth watching and I think these two teams will still be quite dominant at least in the middle of the season. Lens really have Paris Saint Germaine a torrid competition in the French Ligue 1 last season and it got to a point that they were considered as one team that was going to stop PSG's dominance in the league but they've been absolutely shadow of the Lens side we saw last season as as they've been able to get just 9 points after 9 league matches. It's very strange to see runner's up in the league last season languishing in the bottom half of the league table. I hope the management of the club does something positive as quickly as possible to bring the club back to their best once again or risk being relegated at the end of the season.

The first half of the Clermont - Nice game was completely one-sided. I mean Clermont didn't even have a single goal attempt. Nice found a huge opportunity to score by a penalty. However Laborde missed the penalty and made things difficult for his team. There has been already a serious drop in his performance and this was just horrible.

He might not get his position in the starting eleven easily maybe from now on. Anyway despite Clermont's balancing the game in the second half Nice still scored a late winning goal to seal the deal by 1-0. By this win Nice are still maintaining the title of being the only team without a single defeat in the league this season.

Lyon and Lens are the two most surprising teams in this season. They definitely should have performed better compared to what they have done so far. Lyon is at the absolute bottom of the table without having a single win so far in this season. Lens is also not very far away from the relegation zone, to be honest. Lyon seems to be doomed for this season unless they somehow start performing well. And I really do not have any idea how they can do that. Lens still has hope in my opinion. After all, it has not been a long time since the season had started. Not even 10 matches have been played so far. So they still have a chance to improve their performance and actually get towards the top of the table.
