French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1)

The most favourite team in Ligue 1 is PSG and they are still strong enough. However, Nice's performance this season is impressing everyone. This team has been consistent since the beginning of the season. Nice team is still undefeated despite drawing in 4 matches. In every match, we see excellent performance from nice. And since Nice is not playing in the Europa League or the Champions League. So they can only focus on Ligue 1 matches. On the other hand, the PSG team is BC with a Champions League match. So it is getting a bit difficult for PSG to maintain consistency in Ligue 1. However, I think PSG will be able to reclaim the top spot in the points table in the next few weeks. They are only 1 point behind Nice.

But from a progressive point of view, it is still something small when looking at the conditions of Nice and PSG.
Indeed, at this time Nice is really very good even they have never taste d defeat even once, it's just that in this case I don't think it can be used as a guarantee for one season because last season Lens also did the same thing but the results were the strongest they were only in position 2 as well as what happened to Nice now.

To be among the best in the league consistency matters alot and even if you lose a match or two it's required of the team to pick up form very fast and start doing good again I believe that's why PSG has been very successful in the league coupled with their Financial stability that's made it possible for them to easily replace their departed players and still maintain the club to keep it functioning properly.

 Monaco is another club that's been brilliant this season, they've tried to be very consistent in many matches but lately they failed to perform well in their last game against Lille which made them to drop on the standings, however they'll need to pick up again in their next match so as not to drop more points, we'll I saw in a news by Fabrizio Romano that they're on the verge of signing a new player, Kassoum Ouattara as their new left back from Amiens for a fee worth around €2, and the deal is on the final stages.

Monaco would become the toughest competitor for PSG at this moment but the main problem if nice could also become a potential threat but im feeling if nice will not able to keep its performance become stable till the end of season.
There will be some changes to happen like a new club is starting to enter in the competition to win the french league. The consistentcy of nice will always become a qood question that remain unanswered till the end of season.
Everything seems being even harder for PSG to win the trophy this time. The good thing if the club like lens and marseille are still struggling with their performances but it didn't mean if they will not comeback to the competition for the title race this season. I think that i will see another club to enter into the title race.

When you see average clubs performing so well at the beginning of the season you shouldn't be expecting much from them rather just give them some more time nd see how well they turn out, sometimes they do turn out well but it's more usual they don't end up with the league title.

We only hope for them to finish amongst the top four or five by the end of the season and this I think is with the case of NICE. They are currently at the top of the table and have really been performing well but I'm yet to see them turn out the winners of the ligue 1 this season, PSG is already right behind them and any further losses they suffer, they will loose their position to PSG and hope to finish amongst top four and qualify for UCl next season.

I will be expecting some competition for the Ligue 1 title once again like in the last season. PSG look even more inconsistent than that season for now. If they can't learn to play effective as a team regularly then I don't think they would manage to pull away from others early in the season. I'm just wondering what team can compete with them for the title this time.

Would it be Nice or Monaco? Or maybe a surprising team to shine out? Nice are currently the team with the best start. Maybe they are the Lens of this season.  

I would really love to see Monaco bringing back their old days by staying in this title competition but let's see.

I wanted to mean Lens' last season performance to be transferred to Nice this season.    You know how amazing Lens were in the Ligue 1 last season. They maintained their claim for the league title for a very long time and there was only one-point difference between Lens and PSG at the end of the season. It isn't easy to keep up with PSG this good here.

I wonder if this time it would be the Nice doing a similar work against PSG. It isn't a mission impossible considering PSG' inconsistencies.

If PSG don't improve their performance significantly in the long run they might need to compete with a team for the title until the end.

In the last 5 matches, Haise's squad in Ligue 1 is not that bad, although their performance is still quite unstable, they have gone a little bit better than at the start of this season with 4 defeats from 5 matches and one draw. Now they are starting to get a little bit on the right track, and slaughtered Nantes last week. But to compete like last season on the standings, it doesn't seem like an easy job. Moreover, Lens also has matches in other competitions.

As for Nice, PSG, Monaco, these three teams are only separated by a small difference in points.

To be able to see and determine for sure who is the strongest can start from the middle of the season until near the end of the season, and whoever of the three succeeds in occupying the top ranking will definitely try as hard as possible to stay at.

I have been withdrew with Lens opportunity to compete PSG for Ligue tittle race in this season although they have good performed last season and finish on 2nd standings position, Lens have bad started in this season and they won 3 of 10 matches and looks they are not compete teams for making PSG difficult defending their domestic league tittle. In Ligue 1 Rennes can be considered as tough team especially in the last 4 season Rennes can able to managed their consistency and always be finish at top 6 since 2019/2020 and last season Rennes can finish at 4th place which automatically they can playing at European competition and indeed this season Rennes was quite different because they seems hard to gets the winning results for every matches and losing so many points because they got plenty of draw results

I have the same opinion as you and in january a lot will change, not only injured players but also changes in players who will be sold or new players coming in, while we know the ambitions of PSG owners and PSG financial situation is very good for getting players who has the talent to help take over the top of the standings and unseat the two teams that are currently blocking PSG.

Rennes's next game in the French League is going to be against Nice and this game is pretty much hard to be predicted because the performance of Nice has been amazing so far and they are currently the first team in the French League and they don't want to lose their place to PSG easily. I think still there is more chance for Nice in this match however it's a little bit risky considering the performance of Rennes.

I agree with your concerns about Lens's chances of winning Ligue 1. I think it will be a close battle. Monaco, Nice, and PSG make it appear impossible for them to win all their remaining games. I think the point difference is crucial to keeping the season exciting until the last whistle. It would be amazing to see everything hanging in the balance till the last matchday. PSG and Luiz Enrique seem strong to me. They have a strong team and are still my title favorites. I agree with your prediction that failure could force a big revision. Enrique may find himself in trouble, and Mbappe's exit may increase

the competition between the three clubs looks quite interesting because they only have a small difference in points, in my opinion Luis Enrique's coaching is still quite good and PSG is still performing quite well at the moment led by Luis Enrique even though they are not in first place but PSG is only 1 point different from Nice so that PSG can still catch up.
