It is a 3-year deal and he's already 34 years old - this smells like another expensive mistake. He is a great player - but it's simply too much money and the contract is too long.

It was indeed too fantastic for Lewandowski's price which in my opinion was old especially the 3 -season term contract in Barcelona which ended in Barcelona 36 years when the contract was complete.

The point is, hopefully Erik Ten Hag can provide good success or achievement for Manchester United like in the Ferguson era in the past, meaning this is an expression of hope which of course we realize that Manchester United became chaotic after Ferguson left. It's still lacking for the man united midfield, because this season the Red Devils release several midfielders, including  Pogba, Matic, and Juan Mata. Pogba and Matic are in the main squad, so I think the coach needs to find some to strengthen Manchester United's midfield

Anthony Martial's performance has been quite good in his last 2 matches and also in terms of the quality of this player I think he is also quite good, only that he had decreased his performance due to injury and rarely played minutes, if Ten Hag entrusts him next season I think he will be able to meet many people's expectations because he is a quality striker.

Barcelona spent around €110 million to sign two players this week. But as you said I agree Lewandowski's value is quite high considering he is 34 years old. but i don't think barcelona is doing a big gamble here because the arrival of lewandowski will probably increase their merchandise sales many times. at least they will get benefits that may be beyond our expectations. I think Lewandowski is still very strong and his arrival is expected to be a substitute for the void since Messi left because there hasn't been a player who has been able to contribute so much in scoring goals since Messi left.

True, I also think that Manchester United still needs a midfielder who can be more creative in passing the ball into the opponent's defense line. It doesn't really say anything imho.  We've seen these high profile guys get off their friendlies tours and sometimes move clubs at the final day of the transfer window.  I don't know what De Jong is on about but if Barca wants him off the roster there's nothing he can do about it.  What he can do is choose another club who's willing to meet his personal terms.  It kinda reminds me of those transfer moves like Beckham's.  He was informed that United sold him to Barca..  He immediately called his agent and told him to force a move to Real Madrid instead.  :/

It is a good point also. Manchester City don't have any reliable substitute centre-forward now. There are Julian Alvarez and Nahuel Bustos who are returnees from their loan spells. However I don't think that Manchester City are thinking of any of them as substitutes now. Manchester City played without a striker too last season when Gabriel Jesus wasn't available to play. Maybe they are just thinking of the same plan for next season also. They had better be lucky about Haaland's not getting injured for a long time.
