If Chelsea had played their game with any random premier league and they failed to win  then we can quickly express the dissapointment.

I was surprised that the dominance was equal in the match. With what Chelsea played yesterday against Manchester City, I still have hope in them. I believe something good can still come out of them, but it’s just going to take some time. I will say Chelsea lacks strikers, which is one of the things affecting them. Chelsea had chances yesterday but no good finisher to finish it for them. Enzo Maresca should have just started sterling in the match, and I don’t really like the idea of Enzo making unnecessary substitutions in the second half of the match.
 
Chelsea's next match will be against Wolves. Let’s see how they perform in the match. At least we know Wolves is not a strong team that Chelsea is suppose to find difficult to win.

There is still enough time to see what Chelsea will be upto in their games this season,  I don't want to use this first game to make conclusions.

Chelsea looked good and judging by the statistics were not much weaker than City, but 0-2 at home is 0-2 at home. At least now we can say that City are fine (unfortunately haha) and Chelsea are unknown. In the end, the defeat to the current champion does not mean anything. In the next round Chelsea play Wolves and this game will be decisive in relation to the whole season - if they do not win, then with 1 (in case of a draw) point after 2 rounds most likely "forever" will fall behind the top-4.

In terms of statistics, they are not too different from Manchester City, but there are several things that make them lose in this match, such as when their defense cannot read the movement without the ball from Manchester City and of course finishing is still not too good to date.
An empty 2 score where one of the goals was scored by a former player himself looks a little painful actually but indeed in this case I don't feel strange if Chelsea lost the big match this time because it is certain that Manchester City is clearly the favorite from the start.

But of course there is a little hope for Enzo Maresca when he can slightly overshadow Manchester City's performance even though they can't get points but they must realize that their performance is still lagging behind if the goal is to be better than the previous season which means this they must continue to improve their performance to be even better.

A small difference in the score, closeness in statistics, etc. is not something you can rely on when assessing the strength of the teams in reality. The nuance is that a stronger team, if the development of the game (score) does not suit it, can start playing more strongly and put additional pressure on the opponent. A weaker team can't do that. In this game everything was in City's favor so it's hard to say if they can improve if needed, and with Chelsea it's hard to say how weak they are since they played the (presumably) strongest team in the league. I know it's inappropriate to judge their season with their first match but did you notice any development from yesterday's performance? Did you not see when Enzo subbed out Lavia and ignore Enzo in the game? I believe you also noticed how couch chose to play Enzo behind a striker and not any good striker but Jackson who can not decide what to do with the ball in front of opponents post. The game was not too bad and in fact, it was better than I personally expected but it was very shameful how they could not utilize their chances and how poor their couch was with substitutions. If we continue saying it is too early to judge them, things will become worse. It's better to criticize now so they ammend their ways. You can not spend that whole amount on players and expect the community to watch you play nonsense games.

Enzo Maresca ability cannot be judged in just one match, everyone must know how strong Manchester City is, they are the strongest club in the EPL at the moment and very few other clubs can beat them. In my opinion, Chelsea's defeat was not too disappointing because it was very difficult to beat the team coached by Pep Guardiola.
I was a little disappointed with the tactics used by Enzo in this match, he should have focused more on defense and played a little more closed, maybe the opportunity to get a point was very open. Enzo certainly learned an important lesson from this defeat, he must focus more on his defense in the next match so that his team does not concede easily.

In my opinion, Chelsea weakness in that match was clearly visible in their defense and attack line, Chelsea had a fairly well-organized attack through both wings, but the nothing of a target man in front of the opponent goal clearly meant that many opportunities were wasted in that match, Jackson those who were plotted as ST actually did not perform optimally, as did Enzo Fernandez who seemed to have very little contribution when plotted behind the striker in the match, apart from that, of course we can see that their defense was very bad and the two goals scored in that match actually occurred because of their lack of solid defense, many of the placements of players who are not in their main positions mean they are not playing optimally and I think Enzo Maresca needs to immediately evaluate their squad for that match if they want to achieve positive results in the next match.

At least next week Chelsea will face Wolves and I think this match is more suitable to see how far Chelsea has progressed. But still, a more accurate assessment will be visible after we watch several matches. For some teams in the first match, there are definitely still some who haven't found the true form of game they want to use throughout the season. But Chelsea are actually starting to look good. although it can't match Man City yet. But I'm sure that if we faced a team from the bottom of last season, Chelsea would win. And Wolves are perfect for that. namely to test Chelsea's strength.

But before that Chelsea has a scheduled match in the European Conference League against Servette. And I think it will also be a match that can test Chelsea's strength.

I don't think is to early because Chelsea is not like clubs that you can predict their movement, but Chelsea stated this way shows that this season they will still be understandable, base on the few changes that have been happening currently in Chelsea, everyone will know that Chelsea is in form and they tried. And they were actually playing against a very strong team like Manchester City, and their fans are already getting tired because the club is making changes and nothing is changing so their fans to just accept their fate, because it is taking longer for Chelsea to accept their fate for more than a season now Chelsea is having problems, it is now as if Chelsea are out of clue of how to solve their problems and by now their fans should have gotten use to it, die hard fans will not leave the club, so their is enough time to start decide the fate because Chelsea can actually improve so let's watch them and see what they will play.

I don't think it is too early to judge a team like Chelsea after the first game of the season, even though the season just started, we always see the same result, so I wouldn't be surprised if Maresca ended up as Pochettino. Manchester City is the best team in the Premier League, but after Chelsea's 2:4 loss to them in the preseason game, many people thought that Chelsea would perform better in the league. However, based on their performance against Manchester City, the management was only busy signing midfielders rather than top strikers, so their spending money and player deals are meaningless if they fail to get good results in their games.

I doubt Chelsea will perform well against an average team because they don't have a striker and Jackson is just good at offside and wasted scoring opportunities. Wolves will host their next game against Chelsea, both teams lost their first game of the season, so let's see how Chelsea does against an average team, since Manchester City is strong opponent.

Sometimes Leicester can surprise Spurs about the fact that they have played in the Premier League and have won in the past but for now of course we still don't know how the performance is clear, we see Spurs will be more to score more goals.

But regardless of that, Manchester City is doing good business in this league and selling players to the other teams to earn more money like they are extracting money from these players. Back in 2022-2023, Manchester City earned money by selling four players to Southampton, it was about 41 million euros.
During this season they sold Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Liam Delap, and Tommy Doyle, that's how they earned 17.3 17.85 and 5 million euros.

However, Leicester City needed to strengthen their squad if they wanted to do well in the Premier League. To strengthen the squad, Leicester City have added Fatawu, Okoli and Buonanotte to their squad this season. However, Leicester's squad is weaker than Tottenham's.

Tottenham's team is strong. Despite not winning the friendly match against Bayern Munich, Tottenham's players managed to perform very well. Betting Tottenham to win against Leicester City seems like a save to me. Hopefully the Tottenham players will not let me down.

In fact, in pre-season matches Chelsea also did not have good results, usually the results in pre-season matches cannot be used as a benchmark at all. But about Chelsea, the results obtained in pre-season and in this new Premier League season, it doesn't seem much different either. I  would only rate Chelsea in their next five matches, however it's too early to start underate the team based on yesterday game, it obvious their final third was poor in their match against Man City which means the team needed a quality striker No.9 though their possession was almost equal and I think Enzo Murresca needed to restrategize and change the team formation to include a clinical finisher else the team would continue to struggle in scoring goals, Nicolas Jackson can only play well from the flank and I don't rate him as a good striker while Nkunku is neither a top striker if the manager can get his tactics well with a good striker they would be very formidable squad.

What is discovered in my observations of what happened in that last weekend game for Chelsea is that, the club need more motivation, because from the beginning to the end of the game, Chelsea ball possession was very weak, and that is why, their could not mentain or control all the attempts that they got in the game, and for some reason may be Chelsea was intimidated by the character and person of Manchester City who's tack record of success have ignite the fear in them, to the point of losing our in the match.
For sure I wasn't expecting them to win or even draw the match since for a fact there is no way possible for that to happen, but to their best they have done what they could and losing the very early match to a big club is somehow not too painful for Chelsea.

I wonder why people are so quick to conclude Chelsea's performance just because they lost in the first match, especially Chelsea facing Man City as a club that has won in a row, is consistent and has an ideal squad. So it is very natural that Man City won big, while Chelsea as we all know now is a club that is inconsistent, has bad management and is reckless in buying players in the transfer market plus a new coach. So this defeat is natural but it does not mean that everything is over. Chelsea has only played 1 match and we should not judge this season as a whole. Losing in the first match is a common thing and I think many clubs in Europe have not fully maximized their game in the first match. For example Real Madrid, which is considered a luxurious club full of stars, started its first season with a disappointing result being held to a draw by Mallorca.

The attacking force of Chelsea is really a big problem that need urgent attention. This was why I felt that Chelsea signing Vitcor Osimhen from Napoli would have been a major priority for them but from the look of things, the deal is not likely going to happen as none of Chelsea, Arsenal or PSG is willing to meet the conditions set by Napoli. If I were the management of Chelsea, I would have accepted the conditions and sign him because they desperately need a striker of that quality. Without making som adjustments in the attacking line, I don't see Chelsea dong better than last season.
