Absolutely and encouraging friends, family and frenemies to pull their fiat from the banks preemptively to starve the beast! Pull it now, before it is too late!

what is your general advice for merchants who want to accept UNO? is there apart from the "accepted here" button something like general instructions on "how to accept payments in UNO for a webshop / online business"? i have a friend in taiwan who is selling herbal teas and traditional chinese medicine for bitcoin and could also consider accepting UNO. i am helping him to set up the website and would like to add UNO somehow. i think if user-friendly ready-to-use step by step instructions could be provided for any merchants who are considering to accept UNO it would help this coin to become more popular - and useful for its users in daily life.

@layer1gfx
yes. BIG on the to-do-list ... stream line FAQ general instructions on "how to accept payments in UNO for a webshop / online business" + "user-friendly ready-to-use step by step instructions"
But simple answer is just do it! 1. Get an UNO address ... ie ... download the wallet 2. Post address, accept as payment
---
In general 2015 was dedicated towards the network and getting it ready-made to be a multi-million dollar platform ... tech wise. And I think we've done that ... MM'd onto the bitcoin network the rest of the year still ought to focus on mining pool adoption.
2016 is to focus on getting merchants onboard and an association of products that give UNO a type of identity.
2013-2015 was the baseline value period. Where most coins focused on hype and then faced over evaluation and the inability to support that value, UNO has more less held a range and trades level headed. This is a must do, trail by fire required for any coin to take it to the next level. And UNO is primed to step it up.
So even though UNO is not dead simple to integrate, unless you don't mind paying % to a 3rd party like coinshift or coinpayments, it will get there. So any merchant savvy enough to start accumulating now stands to benefit the most from the added-value that their adoption and use of UNO as a payment currency will generate. And I think that is an excellent point if/when suggesting UNO to potential webshop / online business ... get in on the UNO equity.
But, I still think the PRIME USE of UNO is not as a form of payment currency. Still it can do that too, and do it well ... compare block speeds. And I predict future markets will have strong bid support and less severe down spikes / drops, but speculative pump-ups are harder to temper, and reestablishing the baseline can take months. So the prime use is very likely to be as a reserve currency ... that can back another coin or suite of coins that are more geared to preform as a kind of merchant money (read inflationary for growth + fixed price range).

" . . . it can do that too . . . "
I am convinced -- happy to explain at length -- that Unobtanium's development must include a touch of 'currency-ness.'
@ Layer: hey! good to see you!
I advocate 'mentoring,' whereby Uno community members approach a likely merchant, and volunteer sustained free tech support, and concurrently develop a network of users around the merchant (literally locally), and even, at least at first, undertake to buy for fiat any Uno-that-they-might-wish-need-to-sell.

Good stuff Hemeras, gave you a follow and some retweets/favorites. I should start using Twitter more. @Everyone: When you guys have something interesting to say related to UNO don't just put it here, post it on reddit.com/r/unobtanium and maybe make a tweet. Not only does posting to reddit increase our CoinGecko community score, but it makes it slightly more likely that random redditors will stumble upon UNO. If you don't use reddit you should, it's really entertaining. Make an account then subscribe to reddit.com/r/unobtanium. There has been a slight increase of activity there lately with the flash sale, but I don't see the bitcointalk regulars there much. Make a post about the GFC, exchange activity updates, trading strategies, development ideas, ongoing projects etc. Also, be sure to upvote good posts, as noted by BitcoinNational; there aren't enough upvotes to combat reddits' downvoting algorithm so many submissions rest at 0 points, which may be a turn-off.

Yes, the more social activity, the better. Don't forget the Cryptocointalk.com forum.
When tweeting, add the cashtag $UNO. If you add #UNO to the tweet instead of $UNO, I will never find you because that tag is so cluttered by a university, a board game, a pizza chain, Spanish tweets, and street slang that uses Uno for "You Know."

Wow, the $UNO tag is fairly active. There's even an account that tweets the crypto tags that are trending on twitter. I'll start tweeting and using that tag.

Mu ha ha ha! We must make them ours! The uni shall accept payments in Uno. The pizza chain shall accept Uno. Those street-slang speakers shall have Uno on android wallets on their smartphone.
And I want a bottle of that Unobtanium beer mailed to Australia. Any takers? I'll pay in Uno.

Unfortunately the Bittrex book doesn't mean much, there's also less than 1 bitcoin to drop to 0.0001 there. The Cryptsy book remains supreme for UNO and there is 3.6 bitcoin there to 0.009. Though that still is only a days' volume and will be eaten quickly when the day comes.

This is what we use with UNO, and the t-shirt store I run CryptoThreads . I'll be having more UNO shirts up there shortly.

Gratz there Marky I agree you should extend the invite to i-platypus in regards to benefactor. A very nice chap, and he seems to be a bit down. I don't have an account over at CCTalk though.
