I have created a provably fair dice game:

http://cryptap.us/uno/dice

Note that the bets are quite limited at the moment due to my limited reserves. If you feel like donating to raise the limits you can find my UNO address at the bottom of the page.

If it eats you coins, PM me and if we can verify in the block chain I will refund.

Feedback is welcome.

I've added a coinbomb game to the above link. Please let me know of any issues.

Edit:
All dice games opened, limits raised.
More coinbomb games added.
Limits raised again.

Do you know if I can use other currency wallets to receive my UNOs, or if I can send them directly to an exchange?

Hi Crypt,
Do you know if I can use other currency wallets to receive my UNOs, or if I can send them directly to an exchange?

I'm not sure I understand your question, but I can attempt to answer from what I interpret...

UNO is a unique coin, like all bitcoin clones, and can only be used with the UNO qt wallet, or unobtaniumd daemon, both of which can be downloaded from the OP (at least until alternate services exist, like an UNO android client, or electrum-uno client, they do not yet exist to my knowledge).

That being said, you should be able to transfer UNO from one exchange to another exchange without an issue. In that case you are relying on the exchanges that are running the unobtaniumd client on their end. Note that you are typically not in direct control of those exchange addresses, they are being handled by the exchanges. The only current addresses that are in your direct control at the moment are the UNO qt wallet (or if you have your own instance of unobtaniumd) and the paper wallets (which you cannot send from, you must import them into the UNO qt or unobtaniumd).

Hopefully I have not confused you more...

Fallingknife - I have a good feeling about you on this.  I've been silently hoping for a community takeover ever since it was first suggested before Blazr2 'came back'.  Could you show us a copy of the correspondences with Blazr2 and Jacob?  I'd be even more comfortable if something like that was up.

As for the community investment in a fresh new developer - firstly, thank you for your work and contributions towards this end!  I really hope the new developer has a longer-term vision which include accepting smaller donations of Un, but knowing with her/his own work that they will become quite valuable as Unobtanium becomes a 'responsive' coin.  I know the community can build infrastructure and commerce over that, too.  Seriously, per unit, with good development, use, community, and networking, Unobtanium can be a more positive coin than BTC, IMHO, plus there is an added bonus with respect to opening up yet another formidible currency option in the real world, if you know what I mean, (referencing GUS and banksters, etc.)

Lastly, the whole idea with 'open-source' is that everyone can 'see' what exactly is going on, giving GREAT confidence in the financial instrument.  Unfortunately - MOST PARTICIPANTS DON'T KNOW HOW TO READ THE CODE!!!  Smiley  I really hope there is some willingness by the new coder to participate a little in discussions, (and surely not teach people how to code,) but to post relevant portions of the code publicly to address issues.  For example, I reeeely want to know how to specifically AND PUBLICLY verify the total float of Un right now.  Etc.

Thank you.

Not at all and thanks for the reply.
Well, let me re-phrase my original question. The issue that i am having is that the UNO qt wallet(v0.9.2.9) installed on my machine is not working. It looks that is trying to connect to some ip addresses but "connection is refused" (i.e. trying connection 188.226.198.109:65534 lastseen=108.3hrs
connect() failed after select(): Connection refused"
Than, what I was trying is to circumvent the problem that i am having with the UNO qt wallet not working. Though at the end of the day, what I really need, is to have the UNO qt wallet working as it should. There is perhaps some configuration, that that I am not aware of, which needs to be set in place.
I haven't got yet too much background into all this and wander you if you can help. Many thanks.

Hi Benefactor,
I guess that's fine.

The only feedback I have had with JacobUX was in this thread... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=527500.msg5936230#msg5936230
Otherwise, no replies to several messages.

This message was private from Blazr2:
Re: Unobtanium

« You have forwarded or responded to this message. »
Hello there. We apologize for the delay in reply. We are no longer involved with Un--it was taken over/given to a group of developers/managers including: JacobUX, icanprogram, and some other members of a self-appointed 'Un Dev/Pump Team.' This happened approximately around the time of the last wallet's release. This team manages rockchain.info and unobtanium.io. Please contact them via freenode.net in ##unobtanium-dev or #unobtanium for more information.

-----
I did try to contact them through Freenode. I emailed JacobUX a few times. I was able to contact icanprogram and get some things updated on the site.  I also later email Blazr2 to ask him to return to UNO, but did not receive a reply. My final message was to Blazr2, Jacobux and icanprogram together, trying to determine their interest.  I received no response.

I hope we can continue working with those guys on Unobtanium.io and Rockchain. Those are important services for UNO, and they're good quality.

I also want to stress that the term "take over" seems so harsh and negative. I prefer the term "community involvement."
I have no ill feelings toward Blazr2, JacobUX or anyone else.  My intent is to resolve thecommunity discussed issues around UNO. I'm doing this to protect my own investment in UNO, and because I genuinely like UNO and want it to keep moving forward and for new people discover it.

I'm looking forward to you all meeting the new Dev (Soopy). Hopefully you'll like his work and support him with some good tips so he will keep on. I've taken a little risk coming out ahead of the new Dev, but I wanted to get the discussion going and pave the way for him. Ultimately its up to you all whether or not you want to work with him and support him, and its up to Blazr2 or JacobUX to show up here and say whether or how they want to remain involved with UNO.  But I hope nobody can say that they didn't see this coming or didn't have a chance to weigh in or influence the events.  Again--- no hard feelings whatsoever... I just want to make sure that my investment in UNO remains a good one.

Update: The proposed new Dev emailed me today:  "The Wallet has been Updated to Address Openssl HeartBleed Security Vulnerability , Versions Bumped , Seed Node Updated , Checkpointed.  Will Upload the Qts and send you the link."  I invited him to come and introduce himself here so you'll be meeting him soon.

a new dev is really good news. Everybody should tip him now and then some uno for the work he does so he is happy and keeps doing it.

Remember: Uno was not premined - that may play a role in all this.
It is important that the dev is holding the coin himself so he can actually profit from his own work - and that must be of course.

it is really hard these days to get your hands on a larger amount of uno if you are not willing to buy it for bitcoin.
Uno has one of the lowest inflations of all the coins out there - and that is one of the things that makes it so attractive.
One or two years from now you will see the envy in poeple when you tell them that you are holding a decent amount of uno which you bought at todays prices.
Now is the time to buy, really.
As soon the new dev pushes out the needed updates uno is going to be flying.

welcome soopy452000 - are you the new dev?

Soopy452000 is the new dev. Glad to see you here, Soopy!

Soopy sent me a new Windows wallet which I have been testing today. It synced right up on a fresh Windows machine and downloaded the blockchain without issues. UNO transfers back & forth to the Dice game work fine.

This is a download link that I am hosting on my premium Mediafire account (to avoid the ads).

Windows

Linux

Mac
https://www.mediafire.com/download/6txwvz11m6ms4g3/Unobtanium-0.9.4.0-Mac.zip

The Wallets have been updated to address Openssl HeartBleed Security Vulnerability, Versions Bumped, Seed Node Updated, Checkpointed.

Checkpoints are very important for the security of a coin. If some at a point a coin gets attacked we are able to revert to the last checkpointed block. The last checkpoint Soopy saw when he was going through the code was at block height 150000 and we are currently at block number 334XXX. The latest checkpoint is now at 334970.

All this has also been added to the OP, including VirusTotal scan reports.

If you appreciate Soopy's work so far and would like to thank him, his donation wallets are:
UNO: uW9XivXdwE9VVtBKYubnTzFgfwZP2hJpFN
BTC: 1DGB48wjZpfB9cnazuVr4Co8N1yoCR2bQc

Please be generous so we can keep him as interested in UNO as we are.

Hello everyone ,

Hope everyone is having a wonderful time and as per FallingKnife's directions and introduction and while greatly thanking him from bringing UNO to my attention and generating interest on the same, you must be having the Updated wallet by now which is Openssl Heartbleed Security Vulnerability Addressed , Versions Bumped to 0.9.4, Seed Node Updated, Check-pointed.

Please update your client as soon as possible to avoid any security issues arising from the vulnerability being exploited on the old wallets.

I will be supporting UNO as from now on and would be glad to answer and assist the UNO community in everyway for success of UNO and renew faith in it as well as interest.

Everyone should be thankful to FallingKnife for the renewed interest on the coin and getting me involved a round of applause should go to him.

Hi Crypt,
Do you know if I can use other currency wallets to receive my UNOs, or if I can send them directly to an exchange?

The "connection refused" messages you are getting are fairly typical, it just means that peer has not been seen for a while. The client should still be attempting to connect to other peers.

Try opening a debug window in the qt client and add some of these nodes:
Code:
addnode 192.186.133.74 add
addnode 185.24.223.8 add
addnode 82.73.189.64 add
addnode 5.9.94.205 add

wait five minutes, then post the output of:

Code:
getpeerinfo

Linux Wallet added to the OP. VirusTotal report linked.
Can someone who uses Linux please check it out? I have not tried it (checked for viruses, but don't have Linux to run it on).

Now lets take UNO back up to .007 and beyond!

Soopy, TY for the updates.  I sent you some UNO as a thank you.  FK, thank you for taking this on yourself.

Can we get Icanprogram to update the main website with the new wallets after the source has been uploaded and compiled from github?

The website is actually very nice and clean, I hope we'll be able to keep using/updating it in the future?

I didn't mean the term takeover in the sense that we should take UNO away from the previous devs. But someone has to take the wheel while they're absent to prevent this baby from crashing. I am glad things are now progressing so fast, that's incredible. Fantastic work FallingKnife and soopy452000! Sent a few UNO your way.

Does anybody have some proposals that could get the greater trading community interested in UNO again? I know I mocked the whole "PoS/Multipool" craze before, but form a marketing standpoint even just plans like that can renew interest in a coin. DMD made some excellent decisions lately, as did Karma (both a community effort BTW, took a while to get there though). Those 2 are good examples of how to turn around a slowly forgotten coin.

I'll just throw a couple of questions/random ideas out there to hopefully kickstart a discussion:

  • are there any people experienced in marketing in here? UNO could really use a foundation of some kind, with people that are dedicated to increase use and awareness of this fantastic crypto
  • do you know of any ongoing projects that involve UNO in some way?
  • is there anythign any of you don't like about the coin specs?
  • are you missing a specific service/feature (like an android/iOS apps, paperwallet)?
  • would you be interested in a physical UNO wallet?
  • would you be willing to donate/actively support development of such services?
  • can you think of a specific use that would fit UNO well (except trading)?  Wink
  • please feel free to add to this list ...
