i stopped playing once we soared past 0.007, its obvious a 'small' group of people are manipulating others to snatch up periodic bunches of UNO - 'stick up little sell walls' stick em up! STICK EM UP!! MUNCH!
i was picking up a few UNO every day since launch with a few occasional splurges but since this shit i dont even bother.
its just depressing
@Edgar, I don't follow. What is depressing? The dump was right after @Edgar post. He is a miner to i thing from his posts. Edgar got depress he say....I never go depress with Unobtanium man! . If you dump those tons on me you never gonna see me afraid or depress. You jest see me more confident and happy man. Uno is the dumpers nightmare. The black hole for dumping evar man

Nothing has changed, except a tiny number at Cryptsy and a couple tons of Un moved to better hands. People: Take your coins off of cryptsy! Take your coins off of exchanges!

I never store there anyway. Did something happen? Or, are you trying to drain the big wallet and see what happens if everyone withdraws?

Despite some recent lucrative opportunities, I'm proud to say I've still managed to stay off of cryptsy trading these last months. If people dump on cryptsy, and you are smart to have low buy orders there, remove those coins to another exchange, and congratulations!

Which do you recommend - coinwallet or desktop wallet? I do not entirely trust my notebook at present. I think that the UNO paper wallet generator could use some instructions. I'm looking at the page now - I see that I can generate an unobtanium address by moving my mouse around, but no idea what to do next? Z

I'm looking at the page now - I see that I can generate an unobtanium address by moving my mouse around, but no idea what to do next? Z Howdy and welcome! What i did was purchase some kingston data traveler drives. I just like the design of them. I bought a four pack off amazon and copied my wallet.dat to them. I have one in the safe with the guns just in case and the rest are just around chillin. The odds of me losing one copy are pretty high. The odds of me losing 4 different copies. I should check out from life if that happens.. Nothing beats storing your coins and backing up those wallets on your own. It is fine to trust exchanges and websites, but never with more than you need to risk. If you don't plan on selling the coins, keep them safe on your pc. With the redundant back ups i have suggested, you would have nothing to worry about if your hdd does fail. Questions for all: I am still wondering though, the chain is the public ledger of which address has which coins. So that is what is keeping track of where everything is. I guess that is what the private key is all about? That is what unlocks the tumbler that is the "public key" and allows access to the coins stored inside? If you were to think of it like a vault. So when we make a back up of our wallets, all we are really doing is making a back up of our private keys? There really is no need to keep backing up my wallet each time i add new coins to it? I know i know, this is basic stuff, i never had to think about it though. Is that the gist of things though?

I am always torn. Fuckin assholes who play the spreads like that on cryptsy. Last time i checked there were two decent size walls, 4 and 7 btc i think. Check today, and cyptsy is back to .007, i don't see those walls. and i see 2k+ uno dumped, which was about what was being purchased. There isn't much of anything to do about it i suppose, other than try to draw awareness.
In reality, the only people who purchase huge chunks of coins like that are pump and dumpers. I would imagine any person who is in it for the long haul, someone who trades using their mind over emotions, purchases coins at varying prices trying to average out their cost per coin. Anyone who is willing to buy so many at once is even more willing to dump them imho.

Z i have one big chunk of UNO on a paper wallet, in a plastic zip-shut bag, in a safe. I keep a more modest chunk on my computer (wallet is encrypted, of course) and periodically backup my wallet.dat onto 2 flash drives, which also go in the safe. paper wallet is easy. generate the wallet (make sure your wifi is turned OFF when you do this), print it out, send coins to public address. oh, and don't lose that piece of paper

Yes, I'm with you. Glad to have bought Uno at .006, but I get a rush out of seeing the price at .01. So Un reverts to the median incline it's been on since July. Or someone dumps it further and I get more Un for my btc. I'm ok with either scenario. I'm shifting things around right now, taking the advice to add to my cold storage. It's best for me when it's out of sight, out of mind.

Good initiatives, now we can spend our UNO coin for buying precious metals yes indeed background initiatives. i can personally vouch for bitcoincommodities.com since i met the owner a couple of times in berlin and have good business relationship with him since a couple of years. if there are any questions about how to buy gold or silver from his page with UNO - ask! actually i am really happy this worked out. what do you guys think?

no reason to defend your trading strategies.
everyone here should be free to do what he wants.
UNO is a cool asset to hold - but you should not have to explain to the community why you wanna sell at some point or why you just enjoy arbitrage daytrading - okay?!
guys get a grip. i also got questioned here once why i "dump" at the price i felt reasonable.
i had to convert UNO into another valuable cryptocurrency, that's all. and the reason was i had to pay a good person his wage.
my humble advice, keep it simple and friendly.
thank you.
