RESULTS:


Crystal Palace 1-1 Leicester City
Chelsea 1-1 Aston Villa


Leicester managed another draw this time against Palace but move up to second place again.

Villa proved to be a tough opponent for Chelsea and they managed to draw 1-1 in a game where Chelsea should have won. Well done to Villa for playing well enough to equalise then hold on but Chelsea are in trouble because their last 5 EPL games record is shocking: 1W 1D 3L

Tottenham scored in the first minute but could not add a second goal, it was Wolves that scored with 4 minutes remaining to equalise.

Tottenham are found wanting when the opponents scores a late equalizer on counter attack. Tottenham scored at early but could not maintain the rhythms but it was Wolves scored lately and overcome big team. Tottenham are without a success in any of their last four games.

This is Mourinho ball and i think i have reiterated once that Tottenham will not enjoy the performance Mou brings; but atleast i hope they can get a trophy or 2. Tottenham was suposed to attack Wolves after getting the first goal, but they ended up with 4 passes in Wolves penalty box in 80 minutes + which is not good enough for a team with Ndombele, Kane and Son. Mou has to rethink this park the bus strategy.

Tottenham hotspur haven't performed well if you consider the star players and star coach they have this year. They briefly had that top spot and it's gradually falling down out of the European league qualifying spot. With teams like Man City and Chelsea vying for more points, it would be a bad result to share points with wolves.

Poor results have been obtained by Tottenham Hotspur in recent matches, they failed to get full points and finally had to draw 1- 1 with wolves even though Tottenha was ahead at the start of the match and equalized in the final minutes. Jose Mourinho has passed three games without being able to reap full points and their position must be thrown out of the sematara leaders and taken over by Liverpool. Even Tottenham's position has to plunge deep into the 8th position at this time of course a consideration for Jose Mourinho to be able to get three full points again so that they can improve their position in the standings.

A big night for the EPL this evening. Brighton lost at home to Arsenal. Burnley beat Sheffield United who remain without a win this season.

Southampton fail to climb back in to the top 5 by only drawing against West Ham. Leeds comprehensively beat West Brom. Manchester United climb to 2nd place in the EPL with a hard fought win over Wolves.

Arsenal got two positive results after defeating Chelsea and now continues the positive trend by beating Burnley even though with a score of 0-1, this result gives Arsenal players a bit of confidence because their position is at the bottom of the table and could be a moment for Arsenal to get back up at home. The next match, there are many rumors about Arteta's dismissal but with these two positive results it will certainly give different results for Arsenal management to keep Arteta.

The London derby between Tottenham and Fulham has been postponed because Fulham asked for the game to not go ahead as a number of their players and staff have COVID-19.

Here are my opinion on the match this evening  

Newcastle United 0-2 Liverpool

If Liverpool lose this game and Manchester United win their next game then it means both will have played the same number of games but Manchester United will be top of the EPL table. Liverpool need to win this game to stay ahead because Manchester United play at home to Aston Villa on 1st January 2021 and seems they should win that game. What a game it will be tonight but Liverpool should win.

weak teams are constantly defending against liverpool. I don't think the matches are in England Premier League quality. I don't really enjoy watching.

Newcastle United 0-0 Liverpool


What a performance by the Newcastle goalkeeper Darlow and the team in general played excellent against a Liverpool team that needed a victory to increase their lead at the top of the EPL table. Liverpool are 3 points clear at top of the EPL table having played one game more than second place Manchester United.

Well, I forgot completely about the game of Liverpool, need to hope for a win for Everton now and a loss for Manchester, you know I want Pogba back in my team ASAP.
They have now 33 points with only +3 over Manchester.

One of the best premier League if not the best one in the last decade.

Yes this premier league has been more than 33% completed but too many teams are close to each other. I cannot recall the last time so many different teams were at the top of the EPL in one season to the point where top spot changed between 3 or 4 clubs over the course of just one weekend (like it did a few weeks ago).

It was a top of the week performance from Darlow who prevented Liverpool attackers 4 solid times when they were through on goal. But we must also acknowledge Alisson saves; which kept Liverpool in the game too. Klopp has to work on his team away form if they want to retain the premier league this season.

You are right, Darlow was impressive in that match with so many saves but Salah had one opportunity to curl the ball in to the far left cornet but it went wide. Darlow also had his arm around the leg of Mane but a penalty or foul was not awarded.

All in all Newcastle were playing very well, the reason they were extremely effective against Liverpool was because for most of the first half and lots of the second half they held a high line up front and took the fight to Liverpool. Newcastle played very well but Liverpool will feel they dropped 2 points here.

It was a top of the week performance from Darlow who prevented Liverpool attackers 4 solid times when they were through on goal. Manchester United are the first team and so far only EPL team that has won 10 games this season. The Liverpool vs Manchester United match on 17th January 2021 will be an excellent match.

 

Yes you are right, i think the match away at Liverpool would proof to all how far Ole and his boys has grown and improved. With Ole able to rotate and replace atleast 5-6 players each match; the squad has remained hungry and fitter too. A win away at Anfield with 3 points from burnley and Manchester United players will begin to believe in a title push.

A fascinating season believe me.
