Here is the only Premier League games taking this evening 9th April 2021:

Here is my opinion on how the game will play out  

Fulham 1-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers   

it will be a close battle between Leicester City, West Ham, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool and Everton for the other two places though Leicester will probably grab the third spot if they can get just two more wins.

It is looking like a fantastic end to the season...

Yes, it's tight for those last couple of places. I think Leicester will take third, and the battle is for fourth.
Everton do have a game in hand on the other contenders, but they've been dropping points recently... and it's all about form and momentum at this stage of the season. I'm not convinced that West Ham will hold on, either, I'd expect Chelsea, Spurs or Liverpool to take fourth.

Well that 4th place battle is being played out is a big way. Liverpool are certainly not out of it but Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham intend to fight for it till the last game

Fulham have suffered a huge setback in their attempts to stay in the Premier League by avoiding relegation. They were going to get a point with a 0-0 draw but well done to Wolves for scoring 3 minutes in to time added on.

Late goal by adama traore sealed the deal for wolves in the 90+2 min and probobly sent fulham to championship

I think most will agree that they expect Manchester City to beat Leeds United.

Normally I would expect Liverpool to beat Aston Villa and also for Chelsea to beat Crystal Palace but Liverpool have 3 EPL wins from their previous 5 games and Chelsea have just 2 EPL wins from their previous 5 games so I am not sure how they will play out.

My predictions:

@JollyGood can we see the unthinkable now and Manchester City goes on a loosing streak, and Manchester United wins the title?. Also I’m aware this hypothetical scenario is difficult to digest, but what if it actually takes place, and I’m sincerely rooting for this, anyone else wishing for this to happen?.

Leeds fully deserved their win, they defended well and did well in midfield when they had opportunities. As for Liverpool, I also see that match being a draw (1-1) and with 15 minutes remaining the score is 1-1

I think it is too late for Manchester United to make a serious attempt at winning the title because the gap is too big with Manchester City being 14 points ahead. Even if Manchester United won their 2 games in hand they will be 8 points behind so it will be too difficult because Manchester City were the best team so far this season. The 3rd and 4th EPL positions to to qualify for the European Champions League will be a brilliant thing to watch as around 6 teams battle it out for the two positions available because Manchester City and Msnchester United will finish the season in 1st and 2nd places.

Liverpool 2-1 Aston Villa


Liverpool win their first EPL home game at Anfield since mid-December 2020 thanks to a late goal from Alexander-Arnold and with that they move up to 4th place in the EPL table. Villa remain 10th for what has been a fairly decent season for them so far.


Crystal Palace 1-4 Chelsea

I thought this would be a difficult game but Chelsea cruised to a win.

Jack Grealish was the missing piece today, Aston Villa had the game under control in the first 45 mins but failed to finish it up, they did their best it was one of those unlucky days.

Crystal Palace 1-4 Chelsea

I thought this would be a difficult game but Chelsea cruised to a win.

Havertz playing as false nine has yielded a good result, it turns out to be his favourite position, it was a difficult game on paper but we saw the opposite, the champions league qualification is getting interesting.

It takes more than one player to help make Villa successful though they are heavily reliant on Grealish. Watkins has been off the pace a little recently but he scored in the international for England and is a constant threat for Villa. Chelsea needed that win to give them confidence to carry on pushing for a Champions League position because they were beaten badly by West Brom recently.

I don't know. I think it takes exactly one player.
There does seem to be a bit of a pattern:
- Grealish plays, Villa win.
- Grealish doesn't play, Villa draw or lose.

Seriously, they are still just about clinging on in the top half of the table, but they've been awful since Grealish has been out.
I'm convinced that if he hadn't got injured, they'd be right up there with West Ham vying for a Champions League spot.

Manchester City lost 2-1 to Leeds. This was met as a great shock. Because Leeds was left with 10 players in the match. After seeing the red card, I thought, like most people, that Manchester City would make a difference. Leeds United surprised us all. They got the most important win this week.

Don't try to push an agenda man! Aston Villa team performance is a team collective effort don't try to put the success on one play alone besides Watkins was the reason Aston villa got promoted but this is not a time to point out who depends on who, Jack Grealish is a great guy but let not forget the effort of the entire team. They win together, they lose together

Newcastle take a giant leap towards Premier League survival by beating Burnley. They are now 6 points clear of the relegation zone and have a game in hand over their rivals Fulham so they could increase the gap to 9 points if they win it.

You are right. They will also play a very important rematch with Borussia Dortmund on April 14th. Maybe footballers' mind could be in the Champions League match. Although they scored advantageous in their first game, they must have seen that their job was tough in the rematch.
