Yes Vardy retired a couple of years ago to try to prolong his career at Leicester and because he was not having super success as a bit part England player. If he makes himself available for international duty again I am sure he would be called up. He is playing excellent for Leicester City and he seems to be enjoying every minute.

The thing with Maguire is that he is appealing his sentence in Greece so Southgate decided to recall him but Greenwood and Foden messed up by putting the whole team at risk by breaking the lockdown rules in Iceland so deserved to be sent home at that time and deserve to be omitted from this squad too.

Ah I had no idea he retired, just checked and seems yeah, he has stepped away, and said he'll only come in if there's an injury crisis. What a guy, his story keeps getting better.

Also, not condoning any actions from either of the three. I just feel there's a message that needs to be set and you can't play someone until he's completely exonerated. Ah well, football's fielded murderers before, so why not bribers =p

Well, Maguire was found guilty of a criminal offence and he still got named in the squad, which is the point I was getting at. If you can excuse Maguire, you can certainly excuse 2 teenage kids who had a couple of weeks holiday between seasons.

Maguire was left out of the last squad wasn’t he? Maybe Southgate leaves you out of the squad for only one international break if you mess around. Also Maguire’s indiscretion (although much worse if he is actually guilty) was on his holiday so effectively in his own time. Foden & Greenwood were breaking rules whilst actually on England duty, in the team hotel.

Maguire was found guilty of a crime in Greece, his legal team has appealed the sentence therefore even though an appeal is taking place I would normally say the player should be left out but in this case I think it is absolutely right that Maguire should be in the squad.

I say that because in mitigation for Maguire, you have to put yourself in his shows. For example, if you are on holiday in a foreign country where your spoken language is not national spoken language over there and while in a club all of sudden plain clothed officers pounce on you without identifying themselves and this just happens after you suspected the drink of your sister had been spiked because she became unwell after drinking it at the bar - you would panic.

Then after being forced in to an unmarked police van you were driven around for several minutes only for the van to stop and for you and your friends/family to be taken out of the van and beaten and be hit on your legs saying "your career is over, you will never play football again" and then be bundled back in to the van and driven around again. At that point Maguire thought he and his family would either be killed or be held for ransom as part of a kidnapping plot. It was only when they were forced out of the van at the police station did Maguire and his friends/family discover the men that abducted them were plain clothes police officers. How would you feel if it were you?

The case Greek authorities made against Maguire is a disgrace, if not all of it then definitely some part of it was fabricated. I doubt he offered money to the officers to let him go, after all he did nothing wrong. The police should have looked in to who might have spiked the drink of sister rather than pounce of the most expensive defender in the world.

As for Greenwood and Foden, regardless of their age they put the life of the whole squad in danger while in Iceland. They desevved to be sent home and they should not be recalled to the England squad any time soon otherwise the England manager would be sending out the wrong message. they are teenagers, let them grow up a bit.

Maybe the England manager Southgate should look at recalling them towards end of the season if other players such as Jack Grealish and Dominic Calvert-Lewis do not take advantage now they have been called up. If Greenwood and Foden do not manage to make it back in to the squad before the next international tournament which is the delayed Euro 2020 taking place between June 11th and July 11th 2021.

I have no idea why odds for Chelsea win are so good but I am taking them, and I don't think Crystal Palace can be in top of the table for so long.
I also like Leicester vs WestHam and home win here despite some players missing due to injuries, but Vardy is in top form now.

Oh man, I predicted Chelsea would win, but couldn't place any bets because I was away from home! 

Would you believe how many goals Chelsea put on that second half? They managed to put 4 goals in 28 minutes. 2 of them were penalties from Jorginho, but he's not playing forward so he can't shoot in normal gameplay.

Without any fouls, this would've ended at 2-0, which is still a very formidable score. I wouldn't inflate my expectations for Chelsea too much though, this is just a rare case of a team having unruly players.

It's too bad Jorginho is only on loan though, there are rumors of Arsenal wanting to transfer him.

A very impressive start to the season for Everton and his Carlo Ancelloti team; funfilled, attacking flairs and displays; coordinated midfield and assured display over all. I have to admit that everton is becoming underrated this season; similar to the wolves performance of previous season.
