He will be the first choice of the coach if he is fit to play 90 minutes. He has just returned from an injury and he was not looking 100% fit when Leicester beat AEK Athens 1-3 a few days ago in the Europa League. It might be better for Rodgers to use Vardy as a substitute hoping to make an impact if he brings him on around the 65-70 minutes mark and then do the same for their next Europa League match against Sporting Braga on Thursday and only then maybe play the full 90 minutes in the EPL match on Sunday against Wolves.

Leicester with Vardy up front always have a chance and without him they seem toothless most of the time. He will be playing but not sure if he will be on the bench to start with.

Of course Vardy will play in this match. I'm not sure Vardy should come off the bench because in the previous game against Arsenal he was the hero of Leicester's win by one goal. I think he will be the coach's first choice for the game against Leeds United.

Meanwhile, Leeds United are looking pretty good with 10 point so far from the 6 matches played. If Leicester City lose then I think Leeds United will be above them. But not sure Leicester City will lose tonight.

Fulham 2-0 WBA at half time, I believe this would be their first win of the season. 3 points would actually lift them out of the relegation zone.

How fun it will be if this year Leicester will win again the League?
I'm will watch the premier only if something unexpected will happen like Leicester, Spurs, or Everton will fight with Liverpool (?) for the title.

Premier is a fun league only because every team takes an huge amount of money and a small team can afford to buy a good player.

This year looking as other big teams are doing badly should be a easy win for Klopp.

Congratulations to Fulham for getting their first win of the season, it will be a long hard struggle for them even though they climb out of the relegation zone. As for the West Brom things are looking extremely bad for them they are still without a win.

I never thought Leicester or any team would score 4 goals at Elland Road but it happened. What a night for Leicester City, they demolished Leeds and climb to second in the Premier League table just one point behind Liverpool and one point ahead of Tottenham. Not sure what is going on at Leeds but they just got promoted and are now having to pit their skills against some big teams and some big players, they will probably be on the receiving end of a couple more defeats like this before the end of the season but I would say they can finish in the top 10 in their first season they are that good.

This season is already one of the most exciting I have ever seen simply because the gap between the big clubs and mid-sized clubs to the small clubs is shrinking and the beauty of the Premier League is that any team is capable of beating their opponent.

The predictions are gradually setting in with Liverpool now at the top of the league after Newcastle won Everton in a match that ended, Newcastle 2-1 Everton which automatically puts Liverpool on the top of the league, a long time eyes position by the title defenders and I guess getting them off that position now is going to be a lot of work, especially now that most big teams seems to be having a really hard time.

As i expected, Leicester won the match. But i never thought the match would be so exciting. Look at the match stats.

I have to say Leicester played great. They scored 4 goals despite getting less possession of the ball.

It's an unfortunate game for Leeds. Though they mostly dominated the game, they failed to deliver the goal. It doesn't matter how you play but you need to score to win a football match. They played well but they left their defense weak against counters and Leicester scored mostly on counter. They delivered a goal when they took the ball. Interesting performance of defense and counter by Leicester.

Leicester took their chances, they had more shots on goal and were clinical where it mattered - to score. Leeds dominated the game but Leicester were prepared for that and were happy to let Leeds control possession as long as they did not hurt them. With everything Leeds did they managed to score 1 goal but conceded 4. If Leicester City have to play that way to win every game until the end of the season they would happily hit teams on the counter-attack.

Leicester are now second place in the Premier League table, I hope they stay strong until the end of the season to avoid another Liverpool-Manchester City dominated season followed by Manchester United, Chelsea and  Tottenham fighting for the final two European Champions League places.

I hope smaller clubs such as Leeds, Wolves, Everton, Southampton and Leicester push them all the way.

Aston Villa 3-4 Southampton


What a game!

Southampton were 0-4 up at after just 58 minutes but Villa started a fightback 4 minutes later and then had two penalty kicks in time-added-on which they scored to make it 3-4 but they just could not find that extra gear to equalise. Well done to Southampton for holding on and getting all 3 points.

Southampton now have P7 W4 D1 L2 and have 13 points which moves them in to a staggering 3rd place in the Premier League table on goal difference above Wolves and just a point behind them are Villa.

This season is already bringing more excitement than so many others before it because the so-called big teams are not exactly getting everything going their way and the smaller teams are fighting them all the way.

It was no surprise when Aston Villa were beaten by Southampton because last week Aston Villa also had a bad result when they were beaten by Leed United 0-3 at home. Moreover, Southampton has a goal-hungry striker Danny Ings who is certainly the seed for Soouthampton to get full points at Aston Villa. Last night my prediction was right because Soton was able to steal full points at Aston Villa's stadium, there must be an evaluation for Aston Villa and their performance has decreased after defeating Liverpool at the start of the week with a landslide score of 7-2, now Aston Villa's appearance is getting dimmer.

For me it was a surprise victory for Southampton. Villa were playing at home and should have learned lessons from their previous defeats and tightened down on Southampton but they did not focus. Before the game nobody would have said the game would 3-4.

Full credit to Southampton though they deserved the win even though Villa came back with 3 goals (two of which were in the 90 minutes mark) to narrow the score and nearly got a point but the Saints got all 3 points.

In the second half, Aston Villa had several chances but they failed due to McCarthy. McCarthy has saved some great goal. Just Amazing. Everton started this season in a very strong way. I hoped they would hold their top position for a while longer. But they are now at the fourth place in the point table.

I doubt they would be able to hold that position for long now. With Liverpool at the number one spot of the league table now, it won't be out of context to view them as staying dominant on that table for a long time which is going to make other big teams race for a hot spot to occupy. I don't see Everton beating any big team now no more though, they can still have a great game with the other mid tier teams but, not against big teams. I doubt very much.

Jamie Vardy has been the back bone of this teams progress but then, I still don't see Leicester city among the top four. It's not a spot for them this season.

Big team like Man City and Man Utd have yet to get back on track. Hopefully they will back on the track very soon and make the fight for the title more harder.

My problem here lies in Manchester city, they've got everything they've always had and aren't delivering desired results. I'm not surprised at Manchester United but then, I knew nd of expected some great games from Manchester City. What are they really missing I wonder!

I heard the news that James is injured and will miss Manchester United this week, I doubt this a little even though playing at home.

I also think with you that Leicester will remain in CL next season, the top 4 positions in the English league will not be separated from their squad, they will stay awake in defense or the attacker from James Vardy who counts on and obviously he really helped Everton's victory and became the top scorer in his club.

I agree with what Smartvirus stated, I cannot see Leicester finishing in the top 4. Think about it, Liverpool and Manchester City will almost certainly be guaranteed two of the top-four spots so that leaves the following teams fighting for the remaining two top-four spots: Chelsea, Arsenal, Tottenham, Manchester United and Wolves as well as Leicester. I think a top 6 or 7 place is more realistic for Leicester City.

The main man for Everton right now is probably Dominic Calvert-Lewin, his form has been excellent and he has been prolific as their main goal threat. I have to say though that Rodriguez has settled in well and he has contributed a lot since moving to Merseyside with a couple of gaols and assists as well as playing well for the team before he missed games through injury. Everton certainly missed Rodriguez when they lost 2-1 against Newcastle so he has a lot of value in the side.

Two not so interesting game today.
I will have no choice as a bet but in my opinion burnley will not have a chance to win this game , they are in terrible form by having 5 games lost and get only 1 point from the draw, they will get 1 point at tops as brighton are the better side here statistically.
For newcastle vs southampton, i will have to vote for southampton to win as they are in great run seating on 5th position with 13 points is great achievement even i have a little concern the match could ended draw.

Both sides really needed more than 1 point because both are in trouble near the foot of the Premier League table but they got a draw. 3 points for either team would have been a massive plus but it did not happen. Burnley have P7 W0 D2 L5 and sit second from bottom with just 2 points. Brighton are not that better off but they have P8 W1 D3 L4 and sit 3 places above Burnley with 6 points. Both teamd=s will be joined by Sheffield United, West Brom and Fulham in a relegation battle which will hot up towards the end of the seasons final remaining games.

Southampton are top of the EPL for the first time ever (and the first time in the top flight in over 30 years) and Newcastle are looking like a team that might end the season sitting not far off the relegation zone.

I look at that challenge on Walcott and think it is a penalty even if Lascelles got some of the ball he definitely went in with studs raised at the shin of Walcott and a penalty should have been given by the VAR.

Congratulations to Southampton, what an achievement to be top of the league table on goal difference above Liverpool with statistics of P8 W5 D1 L2 and on 16 points
