I don't think adding more weight will help AJ against Usyk on the rematch, on the contrary if may backfire on him because he will be too slow. Unless he hits Usyk straight in the mouth, but Usyk boxing IQ is underrated. So it might be better for him to go light and chase Usyk around and not to get tired. Because Usyk is a technical fighter and the only way to beat a technical fighter is to be a technical fighter. So can AJ be like that?
Anthony Joshua should not make the same mistake like Deontay Wilder as gaining weight will not help them in any way. Anthony Joshua had answers against Ruiz in the rematch as he was able to counter his shortcomings despite the fact that the Ruiz who came out to fight was a different fighter. I still think Oleksandr Usyk could win the rematch and then the showdown between Tyson Fury will be an interesting fight.

He needs a major improvement in the rematch if he wants to regain his popularity.
In his fight against Ruiz, it was different as the fans believe that Ruiz was just lucky to hit AJ with a solid punch and that KO happened.
But here, against Usyk, it was Usyk who is the better fighter and he was dominating AJ in the fight with his good footwork and head movement.

I still think Oleksandr Usyk could win the rematch and then the showdown between Tyson Fury will be an interesting fight.
No doubt for me too, but Usyk vs Fury, I think Fury will win the match.

I'm still giving Joshua a chance in their upcoming rematch. He was able to avenge his loss to Ruiz. He could also avenge this loss. But I don't think Joshua will win against Usyk by unanimous decision. Usyk has more punches to offer. Usyk is more accurate as well.
I do accept that Joshua was able to win a decision over Andy Ruiz in the rematch but you need to look at the way in which Andy Ruiz was preparing for the rematch. He was not training properly after becoming an overnight sensation and money changes people and i bet he was not really prepared physically and mentally for the rematch but i think Usyk will be fully prepared when they fights again.

I understand your opinion. Andy Ruiz might have really underestimated Anthony Joshua the second time they met in the ring. He might have also faced Joshua in a bad shape. But all this is now water under the bridge. Whatever the reason is, Anthony Joshua came out the winner and he avenged his only loss at that time. Let's give him credit for that. He must have learned his opponent's ways and came out executing his camp's plan. All I'm saying is that this is also possible against Usyk. They will definitely study Usky's fighting style in their first match.

It's possible that Joshua can adjust in his rematch against Usyk.

But the thing with Usyk is that he is still hungry, unlike Ruiz who just party as long as he can after he upset Joshua. So discipline is the key here. Not saying that Usyk doesn't have the discipline, in fact he can train harder in the second fight so that we might see the same results or even worst, maybe we can see him knocking down Joshua for good.

This is not going to be a matter of can, he should adjust or else he will suffer the same fate the first time they fight. But I agree with you that Ruiz is not to be compared to Usyk. Ruiz is probably not as disciplined as a fighter than Usyk. Ruiz won by a strong punch. He didn't win by fighting the whole 12 rounds outclassing Joshua. Usyk is a different boxer. He is not there to rely on a lucky punch. He is there to fight against Joshua whatever it takes. Usyk is of course a harder opponent to get revenge to.

AJ cannot beat Usyk with his technique (or the southpaw argument).

I think AJ has to improve also on his mental health and morale in addition to technique before the rematch, if he is going to stand a chance to beat Usyk. At the moment, due to the two successive losses he has had with Ruiz and Usyk, plus the very sloppy and timid display from the last fight, a lot of persons including his promoter Eddie Hearn have lost hope in him.

https://www.sportsvillagesquare.com/2021/10/15/promoter-hearn-loses-hope-on-anthony-joshuatipped-to-lose-again-to-usyk/

Most importantly i hope he hasn't lost hope on himself.

Joshua has been known for come back after a devastating defeat and that makes this JOSHUA vs USYK II exciting as when he fought against Ruiz for the second time. Their strategy works to beat Ruiz and if they can execute the same working strategy then he can easily regain back and might have the chance to fight Fury in his next match.

I think you can not really compare the fights and also the rematches of Joshua vs Ruiz and now Usyk. Back then it was a huge surprise that ruiz managed to win against Joshua and even managed to knock him down 3 times. Then in the second fight Joshua dominated Ruiz and won his title back in a relatively convincing way. If you look at Joshuas fight vs Usyk then the experts and also the fans were by far not so convinced that Joshua was the big favorite again here. This was mainly because Joshua lost his nimbus of being undefeated against Ruiz and of course also because Usyk is a much better boxer in comparison to Ruiz.
So i don't see Joshua as the big favorite against Usyk in their rematch.

The results of the poll now reverses. People are now rooting for Usyk this time.  Grin
This is no surprise as we have witnessed their first match.
Definitely, the odds will favor on Usyk on this re-match. But curious what will be the gap of odds.
Can Joshua redeem himself? In my opinion, Usyk will still emerge as winner here.
It depends on what you mean by Joshua redeeming himself, if he can give a good fight even if he losses I still think we could see some good fights from Joshua, he could fight Wilder or even Fury and I still think people would watch those fights, but if we see a repetition of the first fight against Usyk on the second fight then I doubt anyone will want to watch those fights as it would be obvious that he will not have a chance against either of them.

Why suddenly they would lost hope after AJ lose his fight? I think that's okay as long as AJ will bounce back.

What if in this rematch AJ will win again, then they would be happy to promote him to a big fight against Fury which would probably give massive cash to the promoters of the fight and that would not be possible without AJ's hard work.

Joshua vs Fury has been hyped already even before the fight of Joshua against Usyk, so Joshua just needs to win the rematch and he will get the biggest paycheck of his boxing career in a mega fight.

If Anthony Joshua is able to defeat Oleksandr Usyk in the rematch then it would be epic as AJ will be known as a fighter who always performs well in rematches  Cheesy. I doubt whether AJ could emulate that this time against Oleksandr Usyk. The next fight i want to see is Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury and AJ facing Wilder.

Joshua vs Fury has been hyped already even before the fight of Joshua against Usyk, so Joshua just needs to win the rematch and he will get the biggest paycheck of his boxing career in a mega fight.
The same hype will be there if AJ is able to defeat Usyk and have the belts and then Fury will make quick works and i think Fury will end his boxing career after that win.

The heavyweight will be less exciting without Fury and Fury already said in one interview that training in boxing is a good stress reliever and helps him not to fall into depression again, and besides, there's still huge money to be made fighting, a lot of new faces in the heavyweight are coming up.
Fury still has three to five years before he retires but I doubt there will be a fourth fight against Wilder along the way.

Roobet.com allows already to make bets on Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight on December 31 22:00 Cheesy 1.51 on Fury and 2.47 on Joshua.

This is either joke a chance to make bets in advance. Because 2 months to prepare for such a fight, specially if you had recently a big fight, is not enough. Cant see the logic behind this. But I like the odds.

Here you are:

This was found on https://roobet.com/sportsbetting/hub88:btsg_sportbetting

I also don't understand how this is possible. They don't have enough time for a training camp.
I don't know why, but there is a lock on a an odds. However, this lock is also on all other boxing events. For example there is a fight Herring Jamel vs Stevenson Shakur, that will be this Sunday, and odds are under lock also. So there no connection that Fury vs Joshua fight was locked because this just Roobet is dreaming about their fight on Dec 31.

I will be checking it from time to time, and if lock disappears, I will make a bet a see how things will go further.

If he loses it, then he will not have a chance to fight Fury.

I thought maybe you confused the meaning of the bet (for example, it could be something like whether there will be an agreement on such a fight this year or not or something like fantasy betting), but now I see that it really exists. Hopefully someone with more information on this will explain what this means. By the way, the odds look rather strange - it turns out that Joshua is quoted by bookmakers better than Wilder.

I guess it will be more correct to compare Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua with Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 1 odds.

I think this odds were made just for fun or only to gain more attention to Roobet. Who would really make a fight in 2 hours before New Years? They just made this odds record on perspective that they would really meet.

Or situation with fight Fury vs Joshua could be repeated. When then made an agreement to fight, and then Wilder appeared and reminded about the clause in contract about rematch. Joshua fights with Usyk for the second time. Just a boxing drama or backstage wars Cheesy

Or this is more for people to talk about, to make a soil for rumours, predictions, discussions.

Tyson Fury is the kind of fighter boxing needs right now, who is outspoken yet he backs up what he is talking about and he is able to grab the attention of the audience which was lacking in boxing especially in the Heavy Weight division, despite saying that i doubt whether Tyson Fury will be fighting for the next 3 years let alone 5 years as he knows about the impact he will have in his body if he continues to fight top class fighters.

People are losing faith in him because things have not been great for Joshua in the last fights, he lost against Ruiz which was one of the biggest upsets in the history of boxing and he did not looked good at all during the fight, it is true he won the rematch but he did not won by destroying Ruiz or anything like that, so while the win was deserved no one was impressed by it, and now he was completely dominated by Usyk, so people are not confident at all he can win the rematch against Usyk.

Sure. Even if we assume that Joshua will be lucky and will be able to defeat Usyk (in super heavyweights there is always a chance for an unexpected knockout), this will not change the fact that in the next match against Fury he will be an obvious underdog and such a fight is unlikely to cause a lot of excitement.

Andy Ruiz had really fast hands and Anthony Joshua did not anticipate that coming and one thing i understood about the skill level of Anthony Joshua is that he cannot improvise during the fight and so is the reason he lost against Andy Ruiz and that is the reason he was defeated against Usyk and what changes he will bring to the rematch is to be seen.

No doubt for me too, but Usyk vs Fury, I think Fury will win the match.
Fury is a master manipulator in the ring, his skill level is on another level and his jaw is unbreakable. No one could survive the punches Wilder landed and yet Fury survived all of his punches which is unbelievable and against Usyk it would be epic if he able to win the rematch. If Fury faces Joshua, he will school him  Cheesy.

I wouldn't say that his jaw is unbreakable, Wilder already break that chin, what he has is a good recuperating power from those punches that knock him down. Maybe he has a strong neck, absorbs that punch, goes down and then recover in less than 10 seconds. But yes, we all know that Joshua will be no match for Fury's technical boxing skills and power in both hands.

That less than 10 seconds is a bit controversial though.  Smiley

Well, Fury vs AJ would not happen if AJ would lose in the rematch which is likely gonna happen based on his performance in the first fight. The hype is over then and the big match is not gonna happen since it will be Usyk vs Fury in the future, hopefully, I'm wrong as I still want to see an AJ vs Fury fight since it's been promoted already and it's easy to gain an audience to support the fight.

I hardly watched boxing for a long time especially the higher weight divisions because they do not face any credible challengers and because of that i became a fan of the UFC as they always matches the best against the best until Tyson Fury came back and created the interest once again which was lacking in the division for a long time. We do not want another fight with Wilder as everyone knows what the result would be even if they fight 10 times.

Tyson is waiting for the Joshua Usyk rematch and i want to see him taking on the winner and hold all the belts available  Cheesy.
