Agree. I think AJ should start looking for a new opponent and dont waste time. Usyk has joined civil defense and is protecting his country. It will take a lot of time before war ends, he gets some rest (mentally more than physically), then I think he will help to rebuilt city or do some volunteer work and return to training. As well as it will take time to settle all organizational matters and etc. It will take years before this rematch might happen. Yeah, he should look for other options now, he need to be active and not wait for Usyk to be available. And so far Eddie Hearn has name four boxers that can potentially replace Usyk. (1) Deontay Wilder and (2) Luis Ortiz, (3) Otto Wallin, (4) Joe Joyce But we will see who will be the final pick: ( https://www.givemesport.com/87984648-anthony-joshua-next-fight-eddie-hearn-four-potential-opponents-joyce-ortiz-wallin-wilder) A match with Deontay will generate huge excitement and interest both fighters are coming from losses and they want to make a rebound and they used to be the biggest news in the boxing community until both of them suffer losses, Luis Ortiz is an easy fight Joe Joyce fight is also good because Joyce is a fast-rising star in the British heavyweights, so let's see who will he go, will he go for easy fight or go for a big name.

I would be glad if AJ fights Wilder. At first it will be more interesting for boxing fans. This fight will generate a lot of money. Fighting with Luis Ortiz? The guy who is already 42? I think it will be a beating for Ortiz, because AJ will try to recover from a loss to Usyk and show his 200% in this fight. Seriously, Wilder is the best option. IF AJ wins, it will be fair to let him fight Fury, if he looses, Wilder will have a fourth attempt to beat Fury But it will be disaster, if he looses for third time

This would be the 3rd time, or we call it a trilogy? We know that Fury has beaten Wilder already twice in a row (the first one judges beat Fury) ... So I think there's less excitement already as we know who will win and Wilder could just struggle to find ways to win the unbeatable Fury.

And so far Eddie Hearn has name four boxers that can potentially replace Usyk.
(1) Deontay Wilder and (2) Luis Ortiz, (3) Otto Wallin, (4) Joe Joyce
An AJ match with Wilder will generate the same buzz that his match with Usyk will generate. It will be huge money making event for the show. But I worry for AJ if he should square it up with Wilder. I believe Wilder will defeat him even in a TKO. AJ should settle for easy challenge just to continue to keep fit, pending Usyk's return so that he does not get severely beaten by Wilder and then start to lose self confidence, which will happen when he gets defeated by him. AJ should go for Ortiz.

That is the right decision Ortiz is old and does not have good endurance this is a safer fight for Joshua if he opted to fight Wilder he is risking his chances to get back on top, two losses and a total of three loses in his career is not good for his legacy Joshua is still a top contender he is still young he just need a good team and focus on his goal and he can start regaining everything with an Ortiz fight.

Well the hype on a Wilder could be greater if they have fought years ago, but since Wilder has lost 2 against Fury already and AJ coming from a lost as well, not sure if they fight will make sense. So Ortiz or Joe Joyce could be the best option for him, specially the latter. Both of this name has been the front liner and hopefully his camp will choose the best fight for AJ, and maybe it will be good to bring back his confidence before facing Usyk again.

The latest news in the media from the Usyk camp is that he has departed from Ukraine earlier today after being given permission to leave military service. It will be an emotional moment for him to leave his country while in a state of war but he is a professional boxer and an elite international sportsman, not a soldier. For all those wondering whether the rematch with Joshua would be going ahead, it is. I also had some doubts about it but Usyk will fight Joshua at Tottenham Hotspur stadium in September 2022: https://www.the-star.co.ke/sports/boxing/2022-03-24-usyk-to-prepare-for-joshua-rematch-after-gaining-permission-to-leave-ukraine--espn/

^^ So that is at least a very positive news that Usyk has been given a military excuse to leave and then train for the Joshua fight because we wanted to see the rematch.
But we don't know how Usyk mentality is, I mean he has his country at war, with his families inside. So hopefully he can train 100% and focus on Joshua.

https://talksport.com/sport/boxing/1071056/oleksandr-usyk-leaves-ukraine-anthony-joshua-rematch/Usyk has joined the Kyiv Territorial Defence but has now left Ukraine to prepare training for his September 2022 fight against Joshua: As far as in boxing terms, yes you are right it is positive news that he has been given permission to defend his heavyweight titles against Joshua after the Sports Minister authorised it but who knows how Usyk is feeling mentally? What is his frame of mind? Thankfully I have never been in that sort of situation but Usyk must be mentally as weak or as strong as any other human being would be in his situation. He most probably is having some sort of guilt feeling because of him leaving military service during this period but at the same time can you imagine the euphoria and boost Ukrainians (both inside the country and in the international diaspora) would receive if the fight went ahead in London and Usyk was victorious again? ^^ So that is at least a very positive news that Usyk has been given a military excuse to leave and then train for the Joshua fight because we wanted to see the rematch.

That's a big problem for him cause it's hard to train focus while your family is in danger from this war we all know that family is better than our career but I don't think so if Usyk will be disturbed from his training cause he must be relax his mind and trained will because his opponent is not just easy to loss even though this is their rematch but Joshua aiming also that he will win and steal the belt as a champion In their division.

At first I was expecting Usyk not to accept the offer of the Ukrainian military. I thought he was really bent on sticking it out with his people during this very difficult time of their country's existence. That's why I was surprised to learn that he was actually leaving the country already for his rematch against Anthony Joshua. But perhaps he was thinking of giving a certain kind of inspiration to Ukrainians especially to those who are trapped in the war zones. His win could boost the morale of Ukrainians. But who knows? Perhaps the war is over by the time the fight will happen. Just the same I wish him all the luck in his upcoming fight.

This would be the 3rd time, or we call it a trilogy? They've already done the trilogy. I really doubt there will be any more fights between them two. AJ v Wilder is certainly a possibility but I think Wilder would have an easier job there and I'm not sure AJ would want that fight. He might not have many options if he doesn't win the belt back though.
But we don't know how Usyk mentality is, I mean he has his country at war, with his families inside. So hopefully he can train 100% and focus on Joshua.
Hearn said it should be in June. September is a long way away and I think the rematch clause timeframe will have expired by then.

It could be the main reason for the government to allow him to travel and continue his boxing career. He will have to show resiliency at this point and even if there is a war, he has to proceed and continue fighting on. And if will be a perfect scenario wherein he wins in the rematch and goes home a proud Ukrainian and show the world that they can conquer everything. This is like a sort of propaganda in war, similar to what Hitler did during WWII. Every victory they had in the field, they have magnify it to rally their troops.

I think even if the time issues related to the contract cause problems they will negotiate a way forward because of the manner in which Usyk is heading in to the fight. Both fighters want the rematch to go ahead. September really is a bit too far for the fight, Hearn was probably right about June being a better option. I cannot be sure but I think June was originally proposed but then September was spoken about. The fight date could change in the coming days... let us see how it plays out but I think it will remain in September 2022 as the media is using it. Keeping that aside, one piece of good news is Usyk posted on social media about him being back in training for the rematch: https://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12183/12575053/usyk-confirms-aj-rematch-plansHearn said it should be in June. It will not be easy for him to train now, he was in the ranks of the Ukrainian army and defended his country along with the soldiers. Psychologically, it can be difficult to train when you know that the wor is still going on in your country and civilians are dying every day. But he is a professional and understands that he must defend his title.

This only proves that he is a fighter, he can serve his country better by defending his belt successfully, representing Ukraine, and being the voice of opposition, the training will be hard this time but I'm sure he will be fully motivated because he knows his country needs him to win this fight this will become a more interesting fight to see and how Usyk will perform knowing that his country is at war.

Yes, I saw this news too. I understand that he is a professional and to some extent the war will give him motivation (to support the country and maybe earn more money to financially support the country), but it is so difficult for me to imagine his psychological state. Even now it is very difficult for me to break away from the endless stream of terrible news and get down to work. It is even harder for him because he was directly in the war and his work (upcoming fight) requires maximum concentration.

I understand what you wrote but we should all give Usyk more credit. He is going to use the boxing platform to highlight his message and those of is country. He said "That’s how I will help my country more". I am beginning to think the best thing Usyk can do for now is to simply focus on his boxing. The article suggests he is not mentally weak he knows what he is doing after getting support from his family and friends: https://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/sport/8624171/oleksandr-usyk-ukraine-rematch-anthony-joshua/I also saw information that Usyk is starting to train. It's pencilled in for Saturday, June 25 according to Hearn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nLa1lX9z-oMhttps://talksport.com/sport/boxing/957137/anthony-joshua-vs-oleksandr-usyk-rematch-date-start-time-live-stream-tv-channel-ppv-location-eddie-hearn/I understand what you wrote but we should all give Usyk more credit. He is going to use the boxing platform to highlight his message and those of is country. He said "That’s how I will help my country more".
I think pretty much the whole world knows about the conflict. I guess he's got to give it some spin to justify leaving Ukraine (not that I think he needs to especially as I think he returned their to fight rather than he was there at the time everything kicked off). AJ has better get working on his game plan if he wants a chance at getting those belts back. Would set up a nice fight with Fury if he does (assuming Fury doesn't lose his belts to Whyte).
