There was going to be a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Don Moore. That was going to be an exhibition fight in UAE, but it was cancelled due to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan passed away.

There were reports that the fight might push through this weekend:

Quote
Floyd Mayweather will proceed with his Dubai adventure.

Confusion as to when Mayweather’s previously postponed rematch with ‘Dangerous’ Don Moore will resurface appears to have been resolved, with the show back in play for this Saturday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event takes place one week after the planned May 14 show was forced to shut down due to the sudden passing of UAE president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who died at the age of 73 last Friday.

Anyhow, this is obvious money grab for Floyd as he chooses a no name opponent and then fighting in a rich nation like UAE. Perhaps there's some rich Arab behind this fight and more money is being offered to Floyd that's why he chooses to have this kind of exhibition fights.

I don't know, but I think that more of an exhibition fight is more about doing an event where Myweather looks like he has more attitude, and they put Don Moore on to measure what level of strength and emotional stability he is at, if he's in the Emirates, it's Obviously the fight will take place, I can't imagine the amount of money he will receive if he fights it, it's like you say, maybe there is a sheikh who is very interested in seeing these boxers in action, for me they will measure forces organizing a very big event with Myweather, is that this boxer is very controversial and when there is going to be a fight with him, he attracts a lot of attention.

Well, in my point of view, Mayweather and Don Moore can be called as a mere puppet by the Sheikh. Of course money is given on this match but the way I see it, this exhibition was the idea of now deceased Sheikh to attract more visitors in their country and benefit the near businesses and hotels where the fight will be held. This fight was delayed but that they have a new successor, the event will still happen as it's was the plan.

Many Fans still want to see Floyd Mayweather get into it, if he is lacking on the boxing side or still fit to fight, many are tend to be too curious if Floyd can do better on other fighters in different divisions, or if other fighters ut of boxing that he will fight with boxing, right now there are many MMA fighters that are going into boxing for an exhibition fight and many are just into the fight because of money,

Well, there are many people still interested in older boxers if they can still fight inside the ring, just like what happened with Evander Holyfield vs Vitor Belfort, we can see that Holyfield isn't really fit anymore to fight inside the ring, and his opponent was retired MMA fighter, Victor Belfort, and Mike Tyson VS Roy Jones Jr. we can see that Tyson might still have a couple of speed but doesn't have the power in his punches anymore, while Roy Jones Jr. is fast in his feet, but the fight was a split draw,

And I will add this is the new normal now, Exhibition fights like this was a thing now, and people are loving to see this kind of thing, and I think this is right now what people want to see than with regular boxing,

Both fighter's objective in doing this is pure because of money surely Floyd Mayweather would like to fight for money if his body can still do it, he will surely milk something from anyone who wants to see an exhibition match of him inside the ring with surely any possible fighter that anyone can think off,

The fight has been resched to May 22 and Floyd has won obviously and he outclassed Moore in this exhibition fight.

And according to reports, Floyd will be getting 80% of the purse, so another money grab thingy for Floyd. Although he didn't look good though, I mean he is 45 year old and showing the sign of age as he has more weight around his belly. I reckon he could be 160 lbs in this fight.

If I understand it right, do you think Mayweather put himself into an exhibition match because of "a good request" by someone highly recognized by him?

Anyhow, disregarding the possible reason/s, Mayweather won't be called Money if he won't do it without an assurance that he will take home big money with just a few minutes or hours of exposure. For those people who are sick of Mayweather's exhibition matches, his career in professional boxing is over and no way he will choose a boxer that he thinks will do heavy damage to him.

It's like more on entertainment and giving chance to others who don't witness the prime of Mayweather Jr.

Lightweight division is probably the hottest in boxing right now. There are so many good names that can make mega fights. But are they really going to fight each other? Or maybe it is their promoters and networks that can hinder these mega fights. Here's some very important details to ponder on the 5 biggest names in the division.

1. George "Ferocious" Kambosos:
- The Ring, IBF, WBA and WBO champion.
- Promoted by DiBella Entertainment. Lou DiBella doesn't have any exclusive network deal that makes its fighters available to fight anybody.

2. Devin "The Dream" Haney:
- WBC champion.
- Promoted by Matchroom. Exclusive network with DAZN. The good thing about Eddie Hearn is his willingness to work with the other promoters and networks. DAZN has the deepest pocket of all these networks.

3. Gervonta "Tank" Davis:
- Promoted by Mayweather Promotions. Floyd Mayweather is very close and well connected to Al Haymon. Al Haymon owns Premier Boxing Champions. And PBC shows are sealed with contracts to Showtime and Fox.

4. Ryan "KingRy" Garcia:
- Promoted by Golden Boy Promotions. Oscar De La Hoya's GBP has an exclusive contract with DAZN.

5. Vasiliy "The Matrix" Lomachenko
- Regarded by the pundits as the real king of the lightweights. The only fighter that is in The Ring's top 10 pound for pound. Arguably one of the best amateurs ever if not the best. A sure future first ballot Hall of Famer.
- Promoted by Top Rank. Bob Arum has an exclusive deal with ESPN.
- This proud Ukrainian is on leave due to his active duty in his country. But he remained as WBO's mandatory which he can activate anytime. The easiest guy to negotiate although it also needs TR and ESPN blessings.
- He is already in his mid 30's so we will expect that the young guns will catch up with him soon.

-snip-
It's true all above boxers you mentioned above are the biggest names in lightweight, but only Ryan Garcia is the one who overhyped and isn't really a good boxer among other lightweight boxers. I'd say Teofimo Lopez and Isaac Cruz are more deserved to get listed on the top 5, Lopez popularity dropped when he lose against Kambosos, while Cruz is an underrated boxer.

Yeah, surprised not to see Teo Lopez name in the list, but maybe he will go up to 140 lbs after that lost to George Kambosos.

Isaac Cruz is underrated, no one wants to touch this guy except Tank who have a difficult fight with him. But I like to see everyone fighting each other and see who will come up on top.

Gervonta Davis VS Rolando Romero

The recent Gervonta Davis VS Rolando Romero fight was a spectacle to watch, it was finished in the round 6 by a TKO win on Gervonta Davis, and in the first round Romero really has a long reach and he is checking their distance, we can see that Romero was aggressive with that long reach, while Davis is waiting for the right opportunity, Rolando Romero's prediction hasn't come to fruition saying that he will Knock out Davis in the 1st round, and pretty much Romero was on the advantage because of his reach, but Davis was very calm and waiting for the strike then Romero steps forward and hop while Davis throws a counter left hook that gets Rolando Romero goes down on the canvas it was a big win for Davis, that is still undefeated, while Romero now has 1 defeat record,

Pretty much I think that Gervonta Davis's experience really paid off from that calm and patient guy for the right timing, really did kill Romero's momentum, and after the fight, Rolando Romero doesn't really know what happen so the referee stop the fight, and still, Romero is still stubborn enough that he has won all rounds with points and he wants an immediate rematch,

This is what Romero gets for making a one round knock out prediction, Tyson quote is always true everybody has a plan until the gets hit in the face, he totally underestimate Gervonta, he overlooked the fact that Gervonta's some of Gervonta's knock outs comes from a counter punch and waiting for his opponent to come forward and make the wrong move, now he is one of the victim no

I was thinking that it's a matter of time, the way Romero comes forward with his chin open and not moving his head it could be either a hook or an uppercut, Tank made it easy to knock Romero out, duck duck move forward, and wait to unload that power-punch.

He surely underestimated Gervonta Davis and it surely backfires back on him on what he predicted may happen it is a big no when you are in a fight and you have announced that the fight will end up the way you liked it, and it kind of Romero is full of himself that night, and on the post-fight press conference Rolando Romero while talking is shaking his head so much like he was really hit to the head so hard, but the guy sure is one funny dude, saying that he has won all rounds and he just jump forward to a coming left hook, come on Rolly Gervonta Davis's timing was really perfect that all rounds were pretty much was a set up in getting those KO punch landed,

I was thinking that it's a matter of time, the way Romero comes forward with his chin open and not moving his head it could be either a hook or an uppercut, Tank made it easy to knock Romero out, duck duck move forward, and wait to unload that power-punch.

The timing of Gervonta Davis was really awesome, and pretty much that patience he has shown towards the entire fight was really awesome, and from a technical perspective Davis, has a lot of clean shots, and Rolando Romero just couldn't belive that he lost the fight,

Experience will always pays off and that's a fact. As for Gervonta Davis case, he is already battle tested and he's been through many battles, some of those boxers are much stronger unlike Romero. It's undeniable that the latter have some impressive records including his high knockout ratio but the thing is, those boxers that he defeated is not one of those strong boxers that's why mostly he defeated it with KO and TKO easily.

Nevertheless, Romero was good and he showed his talent that he can do more but this is not his time. He is too early to be facing the Tank, also, he should change his attitude and learn to be patient.

Well, I think the 1st time I have seen these two at 1st glance I can see the advantage of Gervonta Davis, that he is built in tanking those Romero punches, and then by looking at their fight records then I am very sure that Gervonta Davis has the quality and experience and yes you can see that he is a more technical fighter while Rolando Romero might be throwing jabs, and thinking he is winning the fight, but men we can see the level of intelligent on Davis, was far more superior,

The next Schedule fight will be on June 4, June 4: A title fight of George Kambosos vs. Devin Haney on Melbourne, Australia

Title fight:
  • George Kambosos Jr. vs. Devin Haney, 12 rounds, for the undisputed lightweight title
  • Lucas Browne vs. Junior Fa, 10 rounds, heavyweights
  • Terry Nickolas vs. Lachlan Higgins, 6 rounds, middleweights
  • Yoel Angeloni vs. Ken Aitken, 4 rounds, welterweights
  • Hussein Fayad vs. Pom Thanawut Phetkum, 4 rounds, junior lightweights
  • Isaias Henriquez Sette vs. Luke Gersbeck, 4 rounds, junior middleweights

It will be interesting which path Tank Davis will head next. Last weekend was his last fight with Mayweather Promotions (PBC/Showtime). It was noted that Tank before the fight already said that he wanted to decide and control his own career. But lately, Tank mentioned that he might re-sign with Mayweather Promotions. It seems Tank will be getting more money in his next contract as Matchroom (DAZN) also stated that they want Tank in their banner.

I can smell a bid here. Tank thru the years has been built under the PBC umbrella so they might convince the young star to stay. But we cannot deny Matchroom's chances here. DAZN has the deepest pocket and Tank might prefer it. WBC champion Devin Haney is also with Matchroom and DAZN. And if Haney beats Kambosos twice for all the lightweight belts, pretty sure Tank wants a shot at all those belts in just one fight. The last but not the least would be Top Rank and ESPN. The influential Bob Arum managed to bring Kambosos next fights under ESPN.

Personally if I were Tank. I will go with the biggest money and opportunity which is probably with Matchroom and DAZN.

It seems that Davis is looking forward to separating himself from the Mayweather promotion, and targeting a better career ahead of him, it was a sure correct decision to take and he surely is a big boy now after defeating Romero, but I guess Rolando Romero really wants a rematch and it seems that I would like Gervonta Davis to not accept the rematch I think that Romero doesn't really deserve a rematch if he was knockout like that by Davis, and surely that unbeaten records is pretty much close to what Mayweather has established, and I think the Mayweather promotions have surely done their job perfectly in giving Davis some advice and they surely didn't let Tank down and done a great job in making a huge success for Gervonta Davis,

A Funny picture indeed and it looks like Davis will execute a 619 to Romero while hugging the ropes was really hilarious,

^^ Right, I saw one interview wherein he confirmed that he will not sign a contract extension with Floyd's promotion and this will be his last fight for them. Although Ellerbe said post fight press conference that he doesn't discuss their boxers contract in public, it seems inevitable. They can't blame him though, Floyd took that route as well when he severe his ties with Bob Arum and let him manage his own career. So this is what Tank's gonna do throughout, and definitely to cut the middleman in Floyd. But I will say that they did a good job building Tank's name in this division and making him a champion and a household name for even a casual sports fans.

Gervonta Davis got a big break with Mayweather Promotion and I think he is surely on the right track if he is trailing Floyd Mayweather into his greatness, that is what I think by managing his own, he can surely become very versatile on his own, but I think he owes his popularity to his promotion and trainers in what he become now, but right now, after defeating Romero, in my opinion, Davis will be lifted in a new environment and now that he is out of Mayweather promotions, there is no doubt that he is in a different league now, and I don't really expect a rematch anytime soon despite the claims of Romero exposing him, and got all the rounds I highly doubted that,

OK now Schedules for upcoming fights that I think will be enjoyable to watch

June 4: Melbourne, Australia

George Kambosos vs. Devin Haney - Title Fight

June 4: Minneapolis, Minnesota

Stephen Fulton vs. Daniel Roman - Title Fight

June 4: Cardiff, Wales

Kenichi Ogawa vs. Joe Cordina - Title Fight

June 7: Saitama, Japan

Naoya Inoue vs. Nonito Donaire - Title Fight

June 10: Mexico City, Mexico

Hiroto Kyoguchi vs. Esteban Bermudez - Title Fight

Now, these are all the fights from June 4 to June 10 that will be a Title Fights I didn't include the full event I think you can all look for it online, but for me these fights are what the fans want to see,

I think he acknowledges what Mayweather promotions has done in his career. He trained with the best and they really help him to where he is right now, no doubt about it. But as a free agent, yes, he will become more versatile, can dictate the negotiations in his own term. He won't change any of his corners soon, including his trainers. They have build a camaraderie, even his mother is involved and hands-on. Everyone saw what happened, and I think we could agree that a rematch is not needed.

In actuality, Gervonta Davis Still loves the Mayweather Promotions, and in 1 video on Twitter says he is still a Mayweather Promotion baby, he has a lot of respect for where he came from and I really love that about Gervonta a really down to earth guy, and if you want to take pictures with him he will definitely allow it, for sure, and yeah I think he will still continue boxing with the people he used to work with that he surely trusts the most, while the Rolando Romero, still saying shit about what happen with their fight that he won every round, but in the technical standpoint Gervonta really is in control of the moment,

He can handle himself as a free agent he is a great boxer people want to see his fights he will have no restrictions, and he can negotiate with other promotions, the one thing that these promotions are doing is they want to keep everything in the house as they do on UFC, where all fights are done on fighters under on promotion, this what prevents great boxers like Davis to fight the best from other promotions.

Yup! right now he will not be hindered by who he wants to fight, I sure hope he doesn't make a bad decision that he would lose the perfect record that he has right now but surely there are some boxers who just collapse from attaining a lost record and never gets back on track again, I would never want to see him like that, even if he attains a lost I wish he can still be positive about the outcome because there are great boxers who experience lost and make it as a tool to strengthen themselves, I really wish Gervonta "Tank" Davis to have a positive mindset when it comes to losing because with that he would surely become a great fighter,
