Quite disappointed with the way Ecuador failed to qualify for the next stage. If you guys remember, Ecuador was embroiled in a controversy even before the start of the tournament, with the Chilean football federation complaining to FIFA and CAS that one of the players (Byron Castillo) is not eligible to play for Ecuador. Anyway, CAF fans can be happy, as Senegal becomes the first African nation to enter the PQF stage. Quite frankly, I didn't expected them to defeat Ecuador, especially without their best player (Sadio Mane, missing out due to injury).

Couldn't watch the Netherlands vs Qatar match as both matches were telecast simultaneously.  But I am very happy to see the match between Senegal and Ecuador full of intense competition.  The turning point of the match between Senegal and Ecuador was Caicado's honorable goal in the 67th minute, with Senegal captain Koulibaly leading Senegal 2–1 after 2.41 minutes.  and confirm the knockout stage.  Netherland and Senegal from Group A confirmed the knockout stage.

For Netherlands there is no doubt they will qualify obviously the fight for 2nd place was the most interesting until finally Senegal got it
At first I thought Ecuador would qualify because Senegal without Sadio Mane will lose motivation but in fact I was wrong they are aggressive.

South American teams are having a horrible tournament so far. Argentina lost to Saudi Arabia and Uruguay are struggling to qualify to the next stage. And now Ecuador is out as well. Only team that is performing at this point is Brazil. And they too came under a lot of pressure during the match against Serbia, in which Neymar got injured. On the other hand, the African teams are having their best moments in world cup. Morocco is almost assured of a pre-quarter-final spot, and Ghana can also qualify if they manages a draw in the next match.

Actually for me this result is a victory for Senegal, not too surprising. because Senegal can still play well even without Sadio Mane. because there are still star players who can strengthen Senegal's defense like Idrissa Gueye (midfield) and Kalidou Koulibaly (defender). And of course it would be great if Sadio Mane could take part in the World Cup. But it's a shame that Sadio Mane needs more time to recover. due to a serious injury.

Qatar was never a strong team and only came to first round because of host country card and eventually they failed to perform and became first team to be out of world cup .
Netherlands no doubt managed to play very good in this world cup and they are on top of their group with 7 points.
This world cup is definitely giving us new strong teams that are growing and developing and making their nes and place in football world .

Even before the game started, it was predictable that the Netherlands would win easily vs Qatar, two goals were enough to lead the Netherlands to the round of 16.
A surprising result occurred in the final result between Senegal vs Ecuador, a goal from Koulibaly in the 70th minute meant that Ecuador had to accompany Qatar out of the World Cup. Sadio Mane was very happy to see his friends succeed in getting his country through to the round of 16, but Senegal success remains incomplete without Sadio Mane in the first team.

you're right. and I think most people actually predict the Netherlands will be able to beat Qatar. and it has been proven. Because even Ecuador and Senegal can beat Qatar. so statistically there is no reason for the Netherlands to lose to Qatar.
and in the end the Netherlands and Senegal will qualify for the round of 16. congrats on that. and it's not far from what most people predict.

yeah right. but it seems that at the beginning of the first half that was underway, the two teams were still in a draw and it was not yet clear which team dominated the match. but in terms of attack speed Iran is superior. but USA's defense so far is pretty good. and USA has a counter attack that is no less fast. and in individual possession the USA is also superior.
USA needs to win in this game to qualify. but for Iran the draw results still provide an opportunity for them to qualify.

This group remained some soft core teams group with only the Netherlands as an elite team which, isn't so elite anymore with the quality of players that makes up the team. There obvious leading the group was never in doubt although, Ecuador seemed like a good team to advance but, the team was mostly built on one man and that is Valencia which doesn't make them look very competitive. Senegal on the other hand have got S. Mane but in his absence, most of the players stepped up and did good in there games.

Qatar makes yet another history as the first host to have competed in the tournament and not make a win, gets to score only a single goal and is eliminated in there second game of the tournament.  That's awful, considering how much that was spent to put this up. Now, there just got to watch, lol!

Yes, it looks like Ecuador really messed up in their last match, even though if we consider when Ecuador and Senegal played against the Netherlands at least Ecuador still got good results. If we use these results as a reference, then with these results at least Ecuador should be able to beat Senegal.
But because previously Ecuador was one point ahead of Senegal, then Ecuador should have been able to play with a draw and that was enough to make it through. But yes, this is football and anything can happen and congrats to Senegal, for finishing runners up in Group A.

About the matches in Group B which have just started now, I think the result on paper England will definitely win. But for the Iran v USA match, this is actually a match that is difficult to predict, because USA also played very well against England until they ended with a score of 0-0.
But because Iran can also improve its performance against Wales, that way at least Iran seems to have the ability to play well in this match too. But whether Iran or USA can win the match, I think both have a chance for that result. Right from the first game against Netherlands I knew Senegal were contenders to qualify, they were unlucky to lose there first game due to goalkeeper errors. Ecuador on the other hand were brilliant in the campaign but just had to bow out. Senegal might face England in 16s and I wouldn't also underestimate them.

Few minutes left and I guess that Netherlands and Senegal are the first two teams in the knockout round. I know that few teams have already secured the knockout round but these two played all their games and it's all over for Ecuador.

For the Netherlands, they were actually the favorites from the start but indeed in this case I praised Senegal and was happy with them because at first Mane's absence actually they weren't really the favorite and at the start I was still confused about whether Senegal or Ecuador would qualify but they proved the quality of AFCON champions even without Mane in their squad.
I think this is a good thing for them even though they are in second place but this is better because indeed for the top position the Dutch are a certainty.

Of the 4 national team in my zone, one classified, Brazil.  But all the others with a chance to go through although the situation is not so easy for Uruguay but it depends themselves, Argentina of course... 16 best teams, and today Ecuador to seal a great first round.

I think that all those from Conmebol go to the second round.

The United States is in control of the game and continues to pressure the defense from Iran. Iranian players are mostly in the defensive area, almost all of their players are below the halfway line. Their transition when they had the opportunity to counterattack didn't go well either, I noted that there were at least 2 times they were able to counterattack but they couldn't use it properly because the other players were late in helping the attack, I saw only 2 players when they attack.
