Obviously Canelo has the advantage because he won the last fight, and if you will look at the previous post, you will see that Canelo is heavily favored in this fight. You can bet on Canelo to win, but mind you, the betting odds are very low, hence your winning will not be as much if you win.

But watching those 2 previous fights, can we really say that Canelo has all the advantages? No.

Looking at the current odds:

ML
Alvarez - 1.21
GGG - 3.95

So that is a huge disparity as far as the odds goes and they seems to really favoring Alvarez here. Maybe the age factor is what this bookies are looking at, GGG just won his last fight, while Canelo lost to Bivol. I think it's a great odds for GGG supporters this early as it is very attractive.

Agreed but do you not speculate GGG to be very underestmated for this fight? Canelo has only recently lost to Bivol. It was on a higher weight division, yes, however is Canelo ready for this only months after the loss? Bivol has also showed everyone the style on how to win vs. Canelo. Also, do you see this fight to reach round 12?

Definitely, GGG is underestimated here against his arch-nemesis. There fight has been so close that others argued that it could be GGG 2-0 or GGG 1-0. But we all know that Canelo has been given special treatment and even after coming from a humiliating lost, they still call him the favorite in this fight when that huge odds in the beginning. I will just be basing on their last fight, those lasted full 12 rounds, both have a tough chin, so yeah, it will reach 12 rounds in my book again.

Hehehe good to have my thoughts in agreement with yours. My only only wish for this is the sportsbooks begin offering the odds for over or under rounds betting on 7.5 rounds. This would imply that they might be expecting the fight to be a knockout victory for Canelo. GGG might use an intelligent jab similar to Bivol, however. Canelo bettors, you might develop post traumatic stress disorder after watching this heheheheh. It will not be easy for the middleweight champion.

So maybe this is a good time to bet a good amount of money on GGG. I do agree with the odds though. For me, GGG's last performance proved that his body and reflexes depreciated a lot. And that's not a good sign because he will move up 8 pounds higher against Canelo. GGG will be receiving heavier blows from a much better version of Canelo he faced some years ago. And I felt like Canelo's lost to Bivol is driving him to be become more motivated. He seemed more serious, he wants to make his fight with GGG something personal with his shallow reasons.

I think GGG lives more in the US the Canelo. It's just that there are too many Mexicans, Mexican-Americans and Latinos in the US that will cheer for him.

There is some impact from ageing, and I agree with that observation. But the question is how much? Is it going to be the single most decisive factor? I still don't have a question on this, and we need to wait for another two months to get a clear answer. And I agree with the last part. From what I heard, Golovkin trains in the United States. But in terms of supporters, Canelo may outnumber him by a huge margin. But that was the case with the first two fights as well, and I don't think that Golovkin is much bothered about it.

The fight is still very far though, we might see the over and under odds once the fight gets closer. No sure if it will be 7.5 rounds, might be higher I reckon.

The thing with Bivol is that he is tall, so Canelo has difficulty getting inside because Bivol know how to used his reach advantage. GGG obviously doesn't have the height, so this is going to be pure brawl, 12 rounds of full pack action, hehehehe.

Bivol is only 9cm taller, and has only 4cm reach advantage. I am not a super expert in boxing, but that isnt that advantage to be so dominant in their fight. GGG is also a bit taller than Canelo. Imho, in the Canelo vs Bivol fight, Canelo was aimed on a KO, while Bivol on gaining points. Good defence, speed in legs and little reach advantage beat heavy Canelo punches.

I am not following Canelos career so closely, but it seems that he has changed his coaches. From a guy that throws combos he has turned into a bull that is looking for one punch knockout (sort of a Deontay Wilder). Stepping in the ring with such tactics against GGG might be dangerous or useless.

I try to look at their face-off, and it seems Bivol is looking down at Canelo. Maybe it's a indication that he is really the bigger and the taller between the two and Bivol makes used of this advantage. Of course, he beat Canelo with his foot work because he is the natural LHW as compare to Canelo who is going up.

Reynoso has been his coach ever since he step on the ring. And even if he lost to Bivol, Eddy will still be his trainer/manager.

Quote
Eddy Reynoso - alongside Chepo, his father - have trained Canelo Alvarez since he turned professional at the age of 15. Eddy is the head trainer and also the manager of Canelo. Going through the ranks, Canelo won his first world title at junior middleweight, defeated Matthew Hatton - brother of British legend Ricky Hatton - in 2011 via unanimous decision.

The fight is very close that there is no clear winner as far as boxing fans goes, and it's going to be a unending debate. So yeah, there is no advantage for Canelo and even if he won, again, it's not very clear.

And that is the only advantage he has his age, or maybe the fact that he is more active that GGG after the pandemic and has fought great boxers along the way. But still, not a good measuring stick to say that the advantage is on his side.

Unknown to all of us if how both fighters will come up inside the ring, it's true that it will be an unending debate in terms of

who's the real winner from those both previous fight though the judges gives Canelo the win in their rematch giving him a win

away from GGG, these upcoming trilogy will be interesting, especially with GGG fans possible that it might be the last if he

will lose again. We never know expecting more toe to toe exchanges of punches, and more aggressiveness to knock down

one another.

Obviously Canelo has the advantage because he won the last fight, and if you will look at the previous post, you will see that Canelo is heavily favored in this fight. You can bet on Canelo to win, but mind you, the betting odds are very low, hence your winning will not be as much if you win.

Canelo winning in their rematch is not an advantage. How does it become an advantage for Canelo? If that was a dominant win by Canelo, no one will even bother to get this trilogy done. If it's a clean win, there should be no trilogy now but look at what happened?

This trilogy was being asked for several years now because that wasn't really a smooth win by Canelo. There are questions that needed to be answered and the trilogy will settle it all. It's always an advantage to Canelo that he's younger since I, II, and this upcoming III.

But watching those 2 previous fights, can we really say that Canelo has all the advantages? No.
Correct, I watched both of the fights and while during the first one I could give some advantage to GGG I do not have a problem with being a draw, however the real problem was the second fight, in my opinion GGG won that fight clearly but since Canelo was a rising star the judges gave the win to him.

Now even if Canelo is still the golden boy of boxing Bivol has taken some of that aura away from him, so I hope the next fight is scored fairly and GGG has an actual chance of winning if the fight gets to the judges.

Bivol's height and reach can be considered as an advantage against Canelo because the latter is much more slower in LHW than he's in the super middleweight, that added weight made Canelo more predictable. Yes, it's not much of advantage but advantage is advantage no matter what's their gap and Bivol is much more comfortable in his division that's why we saw how the champion moved that makes Canelo frustrated as he can't do much.

Right, that's why majority thinks that at least GGG has won 1 already against Canelo. But the judges really messed the scoring in the first 24 rounds. He was a cash cow already and that *might* just the special treatment for him.

That's the best thing that we wanted to see, the set of judges, knowing the controversy behind those two fights, should not be biased and score the fight fairly.

Bivol shows us how a pure light weight like him, with the height and reach or even the weight advantage can be dominant with the pound for pound boxer like Canelo. So I would say that he really uses all his toll. Canelo just hits his arm and can't get inside because he is taller and Bivol says that his arm hurts because of all the punch that Canelo throw, meaning it only landed below his face. And we can conclude that it is because of Bivol's height.

I am not following Canelos career so closely, but it seems that he has changed his coaches. From a guy that throws combos he has turned into a bull that is looking for one punch knockout (sort of a Deontay Wilder). Stepping in the ring with such tactics against GGG might be dangerous or useless.

He hasn't change coaches yet, Eddy Reynoso has been his trainer and Eddy's father and they have molded Canelo to be the best boxers we have in this generation. And I doubt that Canelo will switch trainer.

Honestly, that might be true. The fight is close making it easy to adjust the score for Canelo. During that time, Canelo is a money-making machine that lots of money flowed every time he fights. Losing that one will have an effect on his value at that time.

But enough of this speculation though, GGG just needs to clear things here in the trilogy and should be aggressive to do that. It's hard to fight against Canelo on the scorecard if the fight is close. It might be even true that if Canelo-Bivol is a close match, Canelo might win on Decision but it's just that Bivol makes sure to dominate every round for a clear and no-question win.

Both fighters are good at absorbing those solid punches. They've been tested by many fights from their early careers, the two early fights
ends up with decisions, these two fighters are not willing to fall down, both have strong chin and they know how to use the advantage to
Continue facing their opponent even they've been hit many times. We can only conclude who's going to win after the announcer calls the
name of the winner.

Canelo owned the judges on those 2 fights. Just an assumption for me but it's clear GGG won 2 of their previous meeting. There will be no massive demand by most boxing fans to make the trilogy happen if there's no question about Canelo winning the second meeting.

GGG is just even silent because he knows what really happened.

I like GGG to give Canelo another to make his mouth shut. Just recently, Canelo trash talk GGG but the latter didn't respond. What bad behavior from Canelo.
If the truth is that I did not like what Canelo said, first of all, each boxer has to give respect so that they respect him, for me that is unsportsmanlike conduct, it is also not appropriate, there are times that the public also sees it children on their tv, and this is not pleasant for them to demonstrate these things, it is a bad example, on the other hand, the judges are something else, as I said before, if the judges in the past Olympics were cheeky with a verdict that was very biased, so what remains for this type of event where there is a lot of interest, bets of large amounts of money happens.

There are super athletes who can't really shut their mouth even if they losses, like Canelo, he said that he did enough to win in the Bivol fight. But we all witnessed that he was outgun by the young and taller opponent giving him his second lost in his career. And same here, Canelo is talking hard against GGG, of course they are rivals and this is their 3rd fight. But if GGG won, will Canelo not talk about this defeat and says that he should have won it? We will see, too much at stake in this fight.

It's there ego that is taking over, and that is why he and others can't take that defeat. And they really don't know if they are really winning or not, for them unless they are not knock out they are going to win. That's the boxers mentality.

Like for example, Anthony Joshua, he says that he thinks he won against Usyk and that's why he plays rope a dope, like Muhammad Ali as he thought he is ahead in the judges scorecard.

Maybe Canello is somehow compelled to talk about the fight with Bivol in this way because the result of this fight completely destroyed his "legacy/greatness" that he carefully built over the years (avoiding risky fights). Everyone saw that he was much weaker than Bivol, but Canelo can't admit it. As for the Golovkin fight, there's a lot at stake only if Canelo loses - it would be the end of his career. But if Canelo wins, it won't mean anything because Golovkin is no longer at the age to be considered a serious opponent among the tops.

Did he really say that? Well, he's an elite fighter and that loss did not humbled him down because he was so frustrated that he got outsmarted by Bivol. He did his best to win that fight but obviously it was not enough. He got outboxed, he looks frustrated, and lost his composure. Even with a rematch Canelo might still lose.
These kind of statement might be something to hype up the upcoming match with GGG. I know the Canelo - GGG 3 would still sell regardless.

Yup, it's a pride that every fighter has, thinking that they've got the guts to beat whoever the opponents are in front of them

they are not easily be convinced that the scorecard is accurate. As long as have they not been knocked out, they will push the rematch

and try to prove that they are the real winner. These two fighters have that long rivalry history and in this upcoming trilogy

they will again test each other and try beating and KO'ing one another.

Imho, in the Canelo vs Bivol fight, Canelo was aimed on a KO, while Bivol on gaining points. Good defence, speed in legs and little reach advantage beat heavy Canelo punches.

Bivol had the most advantage on that fight, except the experience as Canelo has it the most but it didn't matter that much because Canelo was the guest in LHW where he needs to get an extra added weight to have that fight and that made him more vulnerable as his speed was not that good enough and the same as the power. Bivol made sure to give a gap in-between punches so that Canelo will have a hard time reaching him, that resulted to a loss in Canelo's side.
