I guess not many know that Pacman beat Keith Thurman at the age of 40 and became WBA champ? Thurman was 30 years old and had only wins in his record before that fight. George Foreman became champ at 45 in a weight devision, where every punch is deadly. Holyfield had boxing fight at 46.

I know I might sound annoying, but I find it stupid when people use young > old rule in sports. Experience is what matters.

I don't know if people would still be excited about that given the age of Golovkin. In fact, my excitement for this third match is not anymore as intense as if this was made several years earlier. Canelo was busy entertaining other fights after winning in a controversial rematch against GGG when the business between the two of them wasn't settled with finality yet. And now that he's lost to Bivol he's given GGG the chance to put a finality to this. But GGG has already grown old, way past his prime. But I still believe GGG can pull off a nice win over Canelo on this one.

If the scoring was fair, then Golovkin would have won the first two matches. A lot of us want him to win purely due to this reason. Golovkin was robbed of a win not once, but twice. Now nearing retirement, he deserves something to make up for that. And I am not sure whether we can say that GGG is "way past his prime". I saw the highlights from his match against Murata. He looked OK to me. Obviously some wear and tear is there from aging, but that is normal. He is almost the same GGG he was five years back.

However we look at it, GGG at 40 is never the same GGG. He's not the GGG that actually defeated Canelo. The GGG that we will see a little more than a couple of weeks from now is the old GGG, a fighter that is not anymore in his prime. But he's still a great fighter at that, so I hope he will still inflict enough damage on Canelo to win this rematch.

I cannot say whether GGG was robbed twice. What I surely know is that he was robbed. And that Adalaide Byrd scorecard in their first match was unbelievably ridiculous.

I can agree with passing on his prime if you will watch the full replay against Murata and if that opening will be given to Canelo for sure it will be an easy win knowing how solid Alvarez punches and if given a chance to land a clean and clear combinations, it can take down GGG, Like what I've seen with Pacquiao from his last fight against Ugas, even the desire was there but the quickness is no longer the same,

But, if Canelo will be careless and it turns to the other side, GGG will also not lose that opportunities. I believe that he still has that finishing combination that can take down Alvarez.

Though the odd is by far, GGG @ 4.60 and Alvarez @ 1.19 simply showing that bookies believes that Alvarez has a better edge here.

No one is denying that. The big question is how much wear and tear he has gone through since 2018. One thing that I know about Golovkin is that he trains really hard and takes good care of his body. He strictly refrains from junk food, alcohol and smoking. Canelo will definitely be having an advantage since he is younger. But momentum is not with Canelo, after his one-sided loss to Bivol. The latter completely dominated Canelo during the fight. Anyway, we have just 17 more days to go. 4-year wait is finally coming to an end.

There is no denying that there are boxers, I should say that elite ones that can really fight and become a champion at age 40. So maybe GGG will be considered elite if he can still fight like when he was still at his prime against this version of Canelo. As for the experience, both have the same and maybe GGG will have the slight advantage. But this fight is going to be contested at 168 lbs, Canelo's comfort weight and it will be in years that GGG will go up in weight, so this is very important factor to consider int his fight.

All we need to do is wait and see for this upcoming fight. Both fighters are surely ready now more than 2 weeks and we will them

again inside the ring after 4 years of waiting. Let hope that there's no more doubt in whatever outcome from their fight, whoever wins hopefully

he will win it with a decent margin or in a Knockout way. Good luck to everyone who already places their bets and for those who are still

waiting for alternative odds, enjoy watching!

Let's wait and see the outcome of this fight as we all know that this two fighter already proves what they got. And in their third match a lot of prediction comes up in our mind because as we can see that both fighters aiming for TKO or KO once again to prove that who is the best and if this fight ends up with a unanimous decision for sure there's a possible GGG vs canelo 4 .
The fourth fight wouldn't count as a professional record anymore, but an exhibition fight since GGG already retired when it's happen. It's sad to see there's no other good boxers that can compete GGG or Canelo on super middleweight or middleweight, so many fans only expect the fourth, fifth, sixth and so on. When GGG already retired, I think the super middleweight or middleweight would be boring.

A 4th fight is not possible if it turns out that Canelo will be hailed victorious in this trilogy, but if it's the opposite like GGG then a 4th fight can still happen and that will be a professional fight because GGG has already said that he is not yet hanging his gloves after this fight regardless of the result.

Both boxers are looking for a KO but I think they know that it will be a tough job to pull off because both of them already know that they're hard to be KO'd.

We will be able to answer those questions after this trilogy like whether if GGG can be still considered as an elite boxer at his current age, but if ever GGG will be defeated dominantly then I think he should really consider hanging his gloves even though he already said he won't because there's not much he can do now and his legacy will be threaten as he will be viewed as a trophy to add in their record for the younger generations.

On the other hand, Canelo and GGG shouldn't underestimate each other because they both know how good they are inside the ring and both of them is already a veteran in this career. It will be fun watching this soon!

In the very first place though, I don't think that 4 meetups between them are still possible even if GGG isn't retired yet.

This is the final journey between them regardless of the result. The trilogy is the final one.

After this fight, both boxers will now move on to their next plan without having any thoughts of having another rematch.

Same here, I don't really think that there will be a Canelo-GGG 4 in the future even if GGG will be hailed winner in this trilogy. Both camp will have their own separate way either one of them will climb another division but it will be an expensive defeat for Canelo and he cannot afford to have a back-to-back defeat this year as it will really ruin his career.

The odds is still the same, GGG is the underdog, almost 4:1 or 5:1. The over and under is still pegged at 10.5.

And it's the start of September already, so just 2 weeks from now we will witnessed this epic fight. And it's nice to hear what GGG outlook in this trilogy,

Quote
"I'm totally looking at the third fight as a brand new fight from scratch," Golovkin told Reuters through an interpreter. "I don't draw any motivation from previous fights."

Good mindset, so he will expect a different Canelo, and so his preparation might be different as compare to the last 2 fights. In any case what doesn't surprised me is if GGG is rob again, hehehe.

Golovkin didn't made much noise after he was robbed of the win in previous occasions. But this time I don't think that he will keep quiet. If something similar happens, then I expect him to protest. And already a lot of fans are pointing out what happened in 2017 and 2018. They are not going to keep quiet as well. The judges will be under a lot of pressure. They will be praying for a KO win, for either Canelo or Golovkin. They know that they need to help Canelo, since he is the cash cow. A good performance from Golovkin will make that difficult for them.

News circulating is that Canelo Alvarez is not interested in a fight against the undefeated and former super-middleweight champion Zurdo Ramirez. Zurdo Ramirez is scheduled to challenge WBA light-heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol in Abu Dhabi this coming November 5. It is known that Zurdo is one of the fighters that want a shot against superstar Canelo. Zurdo earlier mentioned that he should beat Bivol in order to get a shot at Canelo. We will see if Canelo is really truthful to his promise many years ago that he will never fight a Mexican-born fighter again.

GGG is more experienced than Canelo. If Canelo should win it would be because Golovkin underestimated his ability.  The odds are in Golovkin's favor because he wants it better than Canelo. I look forward to the match and would hate to see it end quickly with KO.

Yes, that is his mindset, although if I'm not mistaken, he could have fought Mexicans, but this might be different as him and Ramirez might be tight.

In any case, he will surely look for Bivol after this fight, unless he lost against GGG in the 3rd fight then maybe there could be a 4th one who knows. Maybe Canelo will stay at his spot at 168 lbs or go to 175 lbs and fight the other champion, Beterviev, that will be another anticipated fight for him.

Anything is possible, and Alvarez's camp knows how to play for the big money, in any case promoters can sell his ticket in whatever division he choose to fight, I like the idea or the possibilities of him losing in this upcoming trilogy then have another rematch to suck more money from the fans who loves them inside the ring, or he can also go up and challenge either Bivol or Beterbiev which is tougher, what we saw after his lost against Bivol but everything will be decide after the outcome of this fight against GGG.

Let's respect Bivol, Canelo losses against him, and yet we still believe that Canelo is a great player. Anyway, seeing Bivol losses is far from happening, he is extremely good at his division, so I think he will reign and no one could stop him.

We never know till we've heard the announcer announce the winner, but I believe that the idea of another rematch between Bivol and Canelo is still open. If the price is right for sure, both camps will negotiate and sign the contract.

Maybe after Canelo's fight, if he can beat GGG because if that will happen, the fans will hype his name again and it's good timing to fight Bivol. Well, in short, both fighters (Bivol and Canelo) have to beat their respective opponents so that rematch is going to be interesting.

When will people stop speculation on GGG age? Canelo is not a young boy too. Stop turning this fight in to old vs young, as it is about experience vs experience. Professional athletes age is something different. Some athletes retire at the age of 30, some are feeling great at 50+. We are comparing GGG age from our regular body/age point of view. A lot of people at 40 now have back pain, their knees hurt, hard to go to 5th floor by stairs. GGG has been training for entire life. He has trainers, diet and etc. He is not like many, spending whole day hunched over behind pc, or spends whole day on sofa with beer and chips. if someone think he is slow and has bad reflexes already, then I suggest that man to go to boxing gym, to and old trainer and try to punch him. That old man will easily dodge and throw few bombs into your face.

I agree with your thoughts, but most of the time, we can't really take that away in any sports, sooner or later Father time will caught up on anyone, no exceptions. Of course Canelo is also not that young, he just started early same with GGG. It's that GGG decided to stay at 160 lbs his favorite weight and become one of the most successful middleweight and he could be in the discussion for the GOAT on that division. So as the saying goes, boxer is good in their last fight, so we will see if GGG can still maintain even at age 40 and have the strategy to beat Canelo hopefully in the trilogy.

GGG has waited long enough for this fight and I reckon that he won't back down easily without trying hard to settle his score against Canelo Alvarez, if it wasn't for Canelo's contract, this trilogy wouldn't be possible. Fortunately, Canelo was left with no other choice because if he won't sign the said deal, then he won't get a chance to fight for a title fight in light-heavy.

Anyway, I'm quite sure that GGG prepared well for this fight because he knows that Canelo is also a good boxer and he knows the latter's weaknesses as they already fought twice.

Light Heavyweight? definitely he is top together with Beterviev. So for sure, he can still makes fight and huge money and for sure Canelo might go with Bivol next even if he losses his fight. Again, as I have said, Canelo is not interested on all Mexican fight in Light Heavyweight. So it's either Bivol or Beteriviev. Or this might be something odd, but he says he can go as high as fighting Usyk at a catchweight, but we don't know if he is serious or not.

If my memory served me right, Canelo wants the rematch right away against Bivol but his camp was advised by some professional analyst, groups, or something along those lines that it will be risky for Canelo to head straight to a rematch without doing some other fights first. Maybe as part of conditioning as Bivol is really a big deal and able to turn the heavy favorite Canelo into a punching bag.

But before that discussion, let's see first if Canelo can give GGG a hard time on this trilogy.

1st and 2nd fights are really close and this 3rd one should now show us who's the real winner between these two.
