Maresca looked frustrated from the game, like it just dawned on him the level of work he has to do to return Chelsea back to better day. I am not sure he expected that his team will concede that much goals.

Chelsea have to start well, and not try to chase other teams all season long.

When you're starting a new game plan with bunch of random kids with little experience it takes a lot to time and effort to get it working it's going to be a long season.

Still a long way to go before the start of the season but Chelsea's friendly game fixtures could have been arranged a bit better.

After a game against Club America they have City, Real and Inter. If they get hammered in all of them (which is a realistic possibility considering that they were against Celtic), it might ruin any confidence they planned to enter the season with.

They are the only team in the PL in which I cannot be sure in more than 4-5 players as starters. Such an unusual thing in football, especially on such a high level.

Manchester City is the first game for Chelsea this season in the EPL; luckily for them, they will have a friendly game against them first, which will be good to prepare for the coming season.

Pep likes to break records, and in my head, I know Pep will have the eyes to break the Arsenal Invincibles record to win the Premier League without losing any games, and he will like to start from the very first game against Chelsea.

Arsenal is the only 'Invincibles', yes, but that season was actually far from the record in points won.
They had 12 draws and accumulated 90 points and were surpassed by City (100 and 98), Liverpool (99) and Chelsea(95).

2 teams came close to the Invincibles, both Liverpool and Chelsea had seasons with only 1 loss.

Yes, but I was referring to the only club ( Liverpool) who tried to do it in this new era - on the note it would be easier to do invincibles than breaking Chelsea 15 goals conceded in a season. Good old days man!!!!

Don't say "never," because records are meant to be broken, not laughed at, and since it already happened in the Premier League, it will only take some time before another team does it again in the Premier League.

Bayer Leverkusen did it last season in the Bundesliga—51 games unbeaten in a row in all competitions.
Celtic FC did it in the 2016–2017 season.
Juventus and AC Milan have done it in the Série A.
Ajax has also done it in the Dutch League.

At least not in our generation - the chances of Arsenal winning an European trophy is better than any team going invincibles in  Seria A or EPL again.

True but the current Manchester city team would mood walk the Arsenal invincible team in a cold or hot weather anyday, anytime. ( We all agreed on this ..... Last time )

Not trying to take anything away from it, just putting it out there that Chelsea finished the league with 5 points more the following season and that teams had better seasons than that one later as well.
Invincibles is meaningless for me, only thing that counts is trophies. And 100 points per season beats 90 any way you try to spin it.

We are becoming a better team, and with ESR now at Fulham, we can expect another new signing soon, with Mikel Merino being the most likely for me.

Not without a good striker - a problem Liverpool is facing since Suarez left too, Arsenal would need a 20 goals a season striker to give Pep a good fight, I was really expecting you guys to at least solve that problem this summer.

When we had Salah and Mane as wingers the times were good, because Firmino would just drop deep which would allow the to of them go go forward. We didn't need a striker per se.

Now Mane and Firmino are gone, presumably Salah is leaving this summer too, and we are back to life without a (good) striker.

FPL towers would give him FU pricing like they did to so many other players and make him £12.5m.

He'd be a steal for anything below 11.
Chelsea created a lot last season, the only problem is that they created it for Jackson.

With Nkunku in the team they'll create even more, and Osimhen is the guy that gets goals. Strikers that don't shoot penalties (he shot for Napoli but pretty bad - he wouldn't shoot them for Chelsea) are always a risk though, especially if they cost a lot - which Osimhen would.

Unfortunately, Liverpool let both go and were not able to replace them for two good summers now. I believe that's the area Manchester City has an advantage over the rest and has been keeping it close enough (Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko, Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero). These were all 25+ goal a season strikers replaced with 30+ goal striker (Halaand), and the upgrade has been insane. Chelsea won the league the last time they had a proper striker, same with Liverpool and Leicester City 

You can't win/fight for the league title without a proper striker; Pep understands this, but others do not; it'll be the same season over and again until Pep leaves or other clubs start buying like Manchester City.

The only reason I wanted Poch to stay and for the club to get us a proper striker, our problem was quite obvious - get a proper striker and we're good to go. Osimhen £11m? It's doable price ( can still get you Isak/Wakins up front with good midfielders) just pray FPL Managers don't over hype the whole transfer....

Viktor Gyokeres is top our priority, Liverpool are also interested, but I have some confidence that we will get him. From what I hear, personal agreement have been agreed.  Last season he scored 43 goals and had 1 assists in all competitions. If the move is successful to Arsenal, and with the number of chances we create, he can score 20+ goals in a season.

Oh boy both scored 16 goals and city still manage to win the trophy - man only Pep can win the title without a proper striker, do you guys remember how he used Fabregas as false 9 and still win the Laliga in 2010 season ( 2010 I guess)

Chelsea conceded two early goals against Manchester City and four in total again, like they did against Celtic. One win out of four pre-season games is not looking really good to me. Chelsea will play Real Madrid next, another big test.

Arne Slot has integrated better with the Liverpool team than Maresca has, and although pre-season games are not a perfect judge of the progress made with a team by a new manager,  some coaches who just joined new clubs have started showing that they are having a good effect on their new team in preparation for the new season.

Kompany is recording good results with Bayern in the pre-season.

I'm not concerned about the results; my focus is on injuries, and so far, I'm satisfied with how we're handling the Nkunku and Lavia situation; by this time last season, we were roughly 2-3 players down before the season began, with several more suffering with fitness. I'm not going to judge him solely on a few preseason games; we were the best team in terms of chances created and possessions; there were a few blunders from the backline, but we're improving.

Well, so far, the coach is managing him and other injury-prone players in the team properly, doing well to take him off during the game and not stressing him with full game minutes. When the season starts, the coach has to continue like this because it will be more aggressive for the team and players from the very first game where they play against City. It is looking like it will be Manchester United with the bulk of injury problems this season, as they have already started with it.

Reece James should be able to go the entire season, I expect so.
