Group C is what everyone was waiting for - again an epic confrontation between Barcelona and Bayern, and in addition, Inter, which may well knock out Barcelona already at the group stage 
Groups E and H - it is immediately clear who will take the first two places, but in the other groups the situation is more interesting: despite the presence of a strong favorite, there will be a serious struggle for second place and I would say that the outcome is almost nowhere clear.

What about clear group winners? I think Group D, F, G would tempt me to bet an acca of winners (Spurs/Real/City) or at least I would say Real and City should comfortably top the table.

C is going to be fun, but man I wish we didn't have Napoli AGAIN and poor Rangers haha, but hey they might love playing Ajax and Liverpool.

Yes 25 participants would be unbelievable for this pool because even if it is the most prestigious contest, it will start after all the national championships, and most bitcointalk bettors and soccer fans have already subscribed to those pools unfortunately.
Anyway people are coming back from summer holidays and groups had been drawn now, it could attract some more people hopefully.

That's true, I suppose. There are 5 other pools already ongoing, and most people are already in all or most of them, so asking them to come in for another one was always going to be tough. In any case, if we do have 25, it will already be much more successful than any of the past UCL seasons we've had, so that's wonderful. Today's update:

Holy moly canolie we got drafted into the same group as Bayern lol. I suppose you're right KTChampions we will get KO'd out by Inter if all goes well according to Barca script in this season. But if we win one game against Bayern, and one against Inter, that could be enough

A really easy group for Liverpool, something that is nice to see after a slow start to the season in the league.

I assume we'll be able to focus fully on the PL and still top our group - something that City won't be able to do.

Both Chelsea and Tottenham have preferable draws as well - so overall the draw was nice to PL clubs.

a bit underestimation for Napoli and Ajax, especially comparing to Sevilla and Dortmund, IMO, City have easier group to pass through

Yes, I thought about such a multibet, but I would also add Liverpool (why do you a Liverpool fan doubt its first place?)? so: Spurs/Real/City/Liverpool = 1.45 x 1.19 x 1.21 x 1.28= 2.67 Not the best odds to freeze money for a month, right? I think either to add some less obvious results here, or, on the contrary, more obvious ones (like getting into the top 2, but there are meager coefficients).

Could help but I sort of believe that anybody who wanted to join already heard about this thread. We really have a lot of pools this year and it comes to solid amount of money. I am playing all the football pools and that comes down to 12 mBTC, and then there is also F1 pool and maybe cricket pool, don't know how much entries for those are. 12 mBTC is about 250$ now and was probably closer to 300$ when most of us paid for the pools. Quite big sum of money, especially in some cheaper countries.

Trofo i think like you, but you know and i know we have 61 participant in the Premier League one and so many less in the other footb als pools, and its ok everyone makes want they want, but we know we have a gap of 40 players who only play the Premier League one and can be a potentialy players in this pool.

Also i really dont know why some people didnt join the pools with the high rewards and the freebets or more things we have.

^^^ I've actually been sending out PMs to people here and there and several have said they wouldn't play, others cite there being many pools already and as Trofo points out, quite a heavy load, which is perfectly understandable. Even in my home country, the total commitment is already 1.5x monthly wage!

That said, this is a big prize, a shorter competition (less likely for people to forget to put picks and miss a week). Oh and, from my PMs, some regulars have actually responded NOT knowing about the thread... which really surprised me, as I literally mention it in almost all the UEFA threads and even in the UEFA member league threads every now and then. So yeah, it really baffles me like darxiaomi how we're not getting as many participants.

Perhaps it is because past seasons have never really been big and there is not yet enough awareness of the UCL pool. This does suggest, that next season more people will know about it. We actually already have new faces here I don't believe play in any of the other pools, and if those who confirmed end up playing, this pool will actually have quite a lot of fresh blood. I think that's good =)

I like our smaller pools, 60 is a bit too much for me, 25 is just about right. Big enough to make it interesting and small enough to "know" all the participants. That is my goal for the pools I am running.

In the first two rounds, the lucky ones guessed a huge number of accurate results and it seems simply unrealistic to “beat” such a result. I understand that this is achieved not due to the fact that a person sees the future, but due to the fact that out of 60 attempts (by the number of people in the pool), one turns out to be very successful. Someday maybe I will win, but I stopped looking at the results because the winner is always too far, it's more like a lottery in a way.

My whole life only played maybe max 10 people in a group (offline since betting is not exactly legal or even nice to talk about in public) so these forum ones have been quite a different, unique experience for me.

The EPL pool is strange for me. The most people, but the least active (you can see it's the same few group of people chatting that are actually the ones majority chatting in the other pools too).

So I sort of agree 25 is nice so it seems half are active, and it's nice to know everyone in the chat, but I also really appreciate to see buwaytress trying to get new names in here. This forum can tend to get a bit tight, and hard for new guys to break in, I think myself I am guilty of not really going beyond who I know.

KTC yes, 60 also gives you a big downer in a way to see a bad start so soon. Don't give up there though I won a prize last season but was only in the prize spot in last weeks!

Yeah, well, it is a sort of revival pool in UCL case, one failed attempt last season and even the past seasons not much interest, so wanted the first one to get more love, I would have tried even more if I hadn't been away past month!

And nice spot, I guess this means only 28 then heh! I must have forgot to take cryptofrka out of the list, he's the only one duplicated (already checked).

Also, one sponsored spot (igehhh) is already given away, there were 2 other semi-requests but they haven't really responded back so it's still up for grabs if anyone knows someone who might want it!

I do enjoy smaller pools for sure, World Cup and Euro I hope will get around the same # if those pools start up.

For me it is not pending anymore today I am going to send 50% of the payment and 50% within before the end of next week hopefully.Of course if the organizer of the pool agrees to such term although I think there is no reason as to why he/she would not accept,tonight near the end I am going to send this prepayment fee of 50% and the rest as I said before the next week expires,I just wait for my mining activity and not touching other earnings otherwise I would have paid in full.

More people would mean more reason for sponsors to continue supporting the pool next season, that's something we got to keep on the back of our minds!

People loose interest yes but not those in the top positions and you always have a couple of lucky bastards in each round that get 5 correct scores. Not gonna name them again but they know who they are

Yes, it all depends on the number of participants. I have not checked, but I am sure that in pools where tens of thousands of people play, in each round, several people are close to guessing all the results with an accurate score. But is it really so important if we only care about personal forecasts and results? I make a forecast for all the pools in which I participate in one approach. And I check the results only when the tour is completely over.
