I still remember when LaLIga a few years ago was the most powerfull in europe winning all in all the tiers.

yeah, this season they could win Europa league, with Barca and Sevilla, and Betis, Sociedad already there, tough competition
but there are also United, Arsenal, Juventus probably, Ajax, Lazio - will be a good Thursday football, IMO, even Union Berlin that is topping Bundesliga is there, and almost all Bundesliga teams are in next CL phase (just Leverkusen in EL, and Leipzig need to confirm their position tonight), speaking about Farmers league - and they had five teams in CL this season

There is just 2 gomes today which really matters. It's Milan - Dinamo Zagreb and Shakhtar - Leipzig. In first game I'm backing Milan and I think that nobody won't understand if they will lose tonight. In other game I would like to see Shakhtar winning, but there isn't many logical reasons to back them. It will be very difficult for Shakhtar to repeat what they done in first game with Leipzig, where they left no chances for their opponents.

Did you guys see the drama in Sporting - Eintracht match? When loosing Eintracht was last in the group and out if Europe, then they turned the match around and managed to qualify for CL knockout stages. Maybe not the flashiest club, but there was a lot if emotions yesterday and I don't mind them progressing trough.

Would be best for me to stop betting in CL altogether, can't get a winning ticket no matter how small or big I try.

Didn't saw this game, I watched ending of Mrseille - Spurs game which probably was even more dramatic. Intracht indeed isn't the flashiest team, but now they showed that they won Europa league last season not without a reason. And this group was real hell until very final minutes.

I have no idea why I wrote Dinamo Zagreb Anyway, Leipzig have easy game against Shakhtar. 0:4 with 10 minutes remaining. These stats tell a lot about game:

it is really a mystery how both of them end up in Group stage of Champions league
but that happened somehow, and getting some fight in the group stage was nowhere to be seen

anyway, Sevilla scored in Manchester, and they are up, all other things are going as expected, waiting for goals in Turin

Not much what to say about today's games. Milan had very comfortable win in decisive game against Salzburg. Giroud reminded aboutt himself with 2 goals.
Other games didn't had much importance in general.
EDIT Benfica managed to take 1st place from PSG. Both teams collected 14 points, their goal difference 16:7, both H2H games ended 1:1. So, away goals were used as tie-breaker and here Benfica leads 9:6. Very interesting situation.

Yeah, Dortmund ruined things a bit for me, but I can't complain, it was really profitable day for me. And when it come to Dortmund, such result isn't that surprising, considering their situation in group.
Though, things aren't going so well in pool for me...

looking at all the potential group winners and the fact that clubs from the same league can't face each other, the best you can hope for is Porto, I'd guess.

Haha no I actually personally prefer to meet stronger teams earlier, it's just something I feel makes it right for you in this kind of KO tournament. Play too many easy games and you get "careless", play tough ones first, and you're set for better performances.

Not to mention I really don't want to meet Porto AGAIN, like we met Napoli AGAIN. I love the competition to see us play against new teams. Ajax and actually even Rangers were really refreshing.

I won't mind meeting Milan again if they somehow top their group, but my preference is Bayern also is nice to meet (remind Mane or get taught a lesson haha) and PSG too, Real... had enough of them!

Too bad for your wish PSG lost the top spot to Benfica, so they're out of the options for now, and so is Milan, with Chelsea also getting the top spot of their group, that leaves you with Benfica, Porto, Bayern and Real Madrid.

I'm sure the name Real Madrid does leaves a sour taste at the mouth Liverpool fans, and I don't think getting a chance to eliminate them at the round of 16 would the best kind of revenge they'd be hoping to get... I think it's going to be a showdown between Liverpool and Benfica for the next round though.

Well, we have ended the group stage!!!  How are you feeling? Do you thing you have a chance to fight for rewards?.

I think we have some considerations in this summary im gonna do.

- KTChampions  its in his own league far ahead in the top.(We have to say he advise us with his name KTChampions and its Uefa CHAMPIONS League  ).

- After him we have Bullrunbro (making a bullrun, again his name anticipated this) , and Tomahawk9 like the cruise missile fighting very close for third and second spot.

- And Below that........ no more names, we have a wagon of people. Only ten points pull apart the fourth (igehhh) from  the 25° (mv1986).

We are really closely to each other in every part of the table, so you need to really keep improvement to get a reward.

A mention of honor to the bottom boys.

Man City against PSG would be like the champions league final early. That duel would be insane to watch and i think there isnt anything better. Real Madrid and Milan for me isnt attracting much because i think Real Madrid would win really easily in this duel. So waiting for that draw to see what intresting things will happen.

Congrats to the 2 yellow capers of this week,I thought I was going to get it but I lost it for 0.5 points.My only error was that I had 1-1 Fc Kopenhagen in the beginning but then changed it for 1-2 to Dortmund forgetting that even City did not win here.

We have a big pause now and we start if I recall correctly the next year,the good thing is I am somewhat further up from the rock bottom of the table and the points difference is not that big now from even 10th place.

Someone has to face them no matter that they would be a nightmare for some of the teams in the 1/16 draw.From the seeded to unseeded vases it is going to be really interesting as we can see Manchester City vs Psg and Liverpool vs Real Madrid which was last season final.

A reminder though to all of us that teams of the same nation cannot face each other at this stage.One thing is sure with such vases some big teams will leave the Champions League early and I doubt will be Real Madrid or Bayern Munchen as they are the top 2 contenders for this year.

I believe after tonight we will not see the table move very much.

That's how these pools work, you have to get an an early lead to try to consolidate in the top positions, top 15 or so, and then it's all about consistency and trying to hit the most points from upsets. Fortunately, there's still lots of games left to play so I think there could be some big movements during the round of 16 next year

That's true mostly but I guess I was referring to now that group stage is over, there are only 16 teams left for 2 legs that's just 16 games (I guess that's a long round then right?).

So that's the equivalent of one more group stage game number.

After than only 8+4+1 game =13 so less than group stage round.

lol how I got 23+ points after not predicting the first two games on Tuesday is still a mystery, my journey in the pool has been ups and downs but consistency was key, good to finish the group stage in fourth place. not a bad one at all

I couldn't stand their fans' noise yesterday, they outperformed us in some areas but lacked the experience to finish their chances.

You forgot that the confrontation consists of 2 games. 16 games will be played in the 1/8 finals, 8 games in the 1/4, 4 games in the 1/2 and one final game. So there are 29 games ahead.

Damn, yeah. I saw that myself, quite a lot of position-changing in final game, final minutes. Those aren't great options at all for entertainment. Porto I'm sick with. Benfica, sure, but it feels like Porto. Bayern would be my top choice to meet (though would have preferred QF onwards) and Real, well, as you said, it's not the best revenge opportunity, we really need to redress the W points in our recent H2Hs but would probably lean towards picking them rather than Porto/Benfica.

You did good this time, but KTC is smashing it every time and I don't know how he is doing it.
I am secretly trying to bribe all other participants in this pool to somehow ban KTChampion in 2023 and accuse him for having super power of predicting future.
Only way he won't win this competition is if he misses one or two rounds, his electricity goes off, or his computer gets attacked by malware.
