That kind of deal was never offered to Modrić - he's renewing constantly. He signed the extension this year which is valid only until the summer of 2023.
Those 'life contracts' aren't even valid from a legal perspective - I think the longest the contract can be valid is 5 or 6 years (and even way less for younger players).

With the exception of the 2017 and 2022 extensions, I'd say that the majority of his contracts were signed behind the scenes. He also received little media attention before Ronaldo and Bale left, and the same could be said of Heguian, who only received widespread coverage at Napoli after leaving Real Madrid.

Both players are happy there and are still hugely important to Real and to Ancelotti.
Therefore it is possible that they agreed on it verbally - but it cannot be a legally binding contract.

I didn't see this until very late and trust me, Real Madrid are not the type of club to not give extensions to the players that perform, even they are not to the level of my club Barca (sad to say this) at the way they mistreat their players! Guardiola gave a statement yesterday saying that City medical service is to thank for Haaland being able to play every match. Then he added that he will be rotated for sure at some games. On the other hand I am sure he is chasing many records and wants to continue.

It is good when we are participating in different pools,this way we are never bored during the weekend and also midweek days when usually the Champions League is.I think it is to early to put the predictions,I will do so tomorrow near the start of the games as I need to know a lot more information regarding each team,players,injuries and alike before making my picks.Not that by doing so gives me an advantage because I am doing poorly so far in the pool but at a psychological level it sure helps me a lot in instilling self confidence to do better in the pool.

Probably such "unfair" odds are obtained due to the fact that the Premier League >> Serie A, plus because the failures of Chelsea with Dynamo and Salzburg are assessed as accidental.
Milan's odds of winning really look tempting, but I think that if we wait for the game to start, they will be even higher.
And I don’t think that by Wednesday the bookmakers will make a noticeable line adjustment - last games have already been played, there is no reason to significantly change the odds in one direction or another and give those who made a bet a long time ago an opportunity to make an arbitrage bet.

Milan for sure is stronger than Salzburg,Milan is one of the big winners of the Champions League and also plays in a much more competitive league than Salzburg does,plus Salzburg only these late years have become a team that have joined the Champions League groups,when Milan was winning Champions League trophies,Salzburg would even not qualify for the Champions in those years.Having said that Chelsea also when played at home under the new coach against Salzburg drew 1-1 so I don't think these are normal odds.Milan with a win would directly jump start to head of the group so surely I will bet on them in the handicap.

Yup! I definitely agree here and have already made good money betting against Chelsea, and that wasn't even a tough team, while Milan will sense no better time to take points. I do like Marseille a lot too but whereas I don't see them in league, I've been watching some of these teams in UCL and Sporting and Benfica don't seem to be the pushovers they appeared to be at KO rounds previously. I mean Sporting was playing amazing football against Spurs, was a beauty to watch. Porto I don't know, haven't watched. Maybe it's early season and their high energy style benefits but they absolutely seem valye odds.

It's suspect, for sure, as I said above, I bet against Chelsea on the group's weakest team... but Milan is expected to play an understrength squad hence the odds -- but for me, it's still 36 hours to the game, I think we see a couple of surprise recoveries. Plus Milan want to end their English record of over 10 years not winning, Chelsea are never going to be more vulnerable than now.
