Two of the toughest European teams will face off in the 2023 UEFA Champions League Round of 16 as Inter Milan host FC Porto on today. These teams haven't played each other since the Champions League group stage in 2005, where both sides walked away with one victory. Fast forward to present day and both teams sit in second place in their respective leagues. The home team enters todays match having won four out of their last five across all competition, while the visiting Porto squad hasn't lost or drawn a match since January. So in this match any side is good to fly.

Let's talk a little about the probability of winning. I don't think the visitors have a high chance of winning the match, there has to be a reason for that. Inter are a tough team to beat at home this season in all competitions, and this has to be the best reason why Porto's chances are so low. Even if Porto win, it is such an unexpected advantage today that they will secure the second leg at home.

An Inter win is to be expected, they are favorites as are Manchester City who travel to Leipzig at the same time. Manchester City and Inter will both win this match in my opinion, but it will be interesting to watch the two unseeded sides struggle today.

The game will be started in a few hours between Porto and Inter Milan, Since we are talking about football and the amazing moment we can see in the future nothing is truly predictable for tonight Iner is the second team if their league and let's say they are not even near to the first place while is on the same position of their league but need just give points and these two team never face each other recently but during the five last games Porto won all the games while Inter won four games and I'm sure we are going to watch an amazing game tonight.

I just watched the highlights and it went a bit different than how I expected. I saw the score before the highlights, 5-2, and I assumed that Real scored bunch of goals first, and then Liverpool scored when it was already decided, turns out it was Liverpool who went ahead 2-0 first, and then Real scored 5 in a row! That info alone is good enough to basically show everyone how amazing Real is at UCL, like that real, which already scored 5 goals in around 50 minutes total between first and last goal, could beat anyone in the entire tournament. I know they didn't look great this season, but when its UCL, they can beat anyone, truly a pure UCL team.

It was an embarrassing defeat. We predicted that Liverpool team will not win against Real Madrid. But nobody expected Liverpool to be beaten so badly. However, Benzema's performance in this match was extraordinary. He proved that Benzema has not aged yet and is still in great form. If Benzema could have stayed with the squad from the start of the season, Madrid would have been at the top of La Liga. Benzema scored two goals and one assist in this match. Apart from Benzema, the youngster VIni played superbly in this match. Vinicius scored both goals in the first half.

I wasn't surprised by the performance of the Real Madrid, they have the squad and experience to pull off such performance anyday. I always knew they would pull a comeback in the game against Liverpool but wasn't expecting Liverpool to score two goals that quickly and maybe that's where the mistakes started from because they began to fill very comfortable and thought they have the game under control forgetting that they're playing against comeback kings that have been doing that in the games leading to this encounter.  It was just disgraceful watching Liverpool get destroyed but that still doesn't take out the argument that the premier league is the better league.

Smaller clubs in the premier league had done more damages this season to Liverpool than what Real Madrid did. Atleast with Real Madrid, Liverpool could score and not just once but twice. Against smaller things this season on numerous occasions, Liverpool has conceded more than three goals without any reply. Liverpool are just having a bad season and I think it's time they let some players leave the club. Players like Mo Salah shoudn't have gotten the salary increase he got instead they would had try to keep Sadio Mane at the club with a better salary than what he was receiving.

Real Madrid is indeed able to show extraordinary mentality. Ancelotti's team is one of the teams that often wins comebacks after previously falling behind in the Champions League match. So with a victory with a fairly landslide score, it is very likely that Madird has locked a ticket to the quarter-finals. Then for Liverpool, their era can be said to be over.

I attribute the poor result to Liveerpool defenders. Manchester city or Manchester united will not do such careless favour in champion league round of 16. Considering 5 goals after netting two goals is not a mistake club like Liverpool should make at that level. I agree with you that defense is the main mistake of Liverpool's defeat that's very strange to see Liverpool conceded 5 goals at home they should be able to control the game. If Liverpool only conceded 2 goals and drew I thought it could still be tolerated but what happened was really beyond our expectations, I don't think Liverpool have a chance in the second leg as you said there is no way to beat Real Madrid when playing at the Bernabeu Stadium unless Madrid get a bad day playing with 9 players   I have to say goodbye Liverpool .

But seriously, I think that was the beginning of the end for Klopp now. Or maybe said differently, the end of the end. The beginning of the end is their performance in the Premier League. Now losing 2:5 in a home game after a lead with two goals, I am shocked and Klopp is probably, too. 

Everyone associated with Liverpool is shocked, you don't lose in that way in front of your home crowd, because at the end of the day it wouldn't be the defeat (or imminent elimination) that matters, but how possible (and quickly) can you pick yourselves up and get ready for the busy schedule ahead, with games set to start coming thick and fast. I don't know for how long before we start seeing agitations for Klopp to be fired, i know he has given Liverpool quite a lot to cheer for in recent years, but the performances this season is unacceptable and i'm pretty sure sooner or later the board would make that unequivocally known to him.

Having this type of result shouldn't cause Klopp to be fired, that is really not the solution to it. First of all, a few of these goals were pure luck based, they just had very unlucky game, sure their own second goal was luck too and Salah was there to score it, but at the end of the day Klopp is the one that took them to this level anyway.

If we are disappointed by Liverpool losing this badly, that is because Klopp made them into a good team, if he wasn't there, Liverpool may not be even in this level, could be a team like Spurs at most, and that is why it's quite important to remember that Klopp is owed so much for the club and should be given another season.

Maybe you are right about Manchester City in the Premier League, but I hope they will be very strong in the Champions League this season. Meanwhile I don't expect Manchester City to lose in the round of 16 and they should smoothly progress to the quarter-finals this season.

Winning against Leipzig is mandatory, they are the undoubted favorites today. I support Manchester City especially because I believe they will win the match, maybe I could be wrong but very likely to be right.

It was a good betting round for me from the last matches. I'm not so keen on putting a bet tonight. City and Inter are heavy favorites and with decent odds on ML too but I'm just skeptical since I am clueless on how their opponents may perform. I'm thinking of double chance but odds are just too low for me. Not worth the risk.

Seeing the track record of porto and leipzig in the domestic league and i think that leipzign has pretty bad performance. Porto is still as good as benfica. It seems like that the match between inter against porto is much more riskier compared with manchester city against leipzig. I personally thought that if betting city has more chance to win caused by leipzig is not doing well in bundesliga. Leipzig was also losing against berlin. The match between city against liepzig is quite easy to predict.

The thing that makes me feel doubt about city is city will play against leipzig without its best player de bruyne. We do know that how big contribution from de bruyne for city in EPL. De bruyne is actually needed by city in UCL.

If we refer to the statistics that Porto has, Porto's performance is fairly impressive in its domestic league. in 10 matches in all competitions, Porto achieved very impressive results and wiped out 10 matches with a win. In this match, Sergio Conceicao's squad will be tested against Inter away. but it won't be easy, because after all Inter are one level above them. after all, Inter will not miss the chance that in fact they are playing at home. So, I'm sure Inter will beat Porto with a score of 2-1.

On the other hand, the Leipzig vs Manchester City match. even though Leipzig are playing at home, they know that City is not an easy opponent to beat. moreover, Leipzig will not be strengthened by some of its players. As for Manchester City, in this match City will not play De Buryne. however, Pep Guardiola still has other options as a replacement. and yes, as we agreed, on paper City is more favored than Leipzig in this match. so, it looks like this fight will be owned by The Citizen.

Liverpool had a fast start, but they conceded five goals, which was unbelievable. Real Madrid's left-back was injured very early minutes. Nacho, who was included in the game instead, did a good job. Liverpool were very slow in every part of the game after scoring goals, several of the goals were player errors, Alisson serious error. Real Madrid is again advancing towards the trophy. You remember these comebacks well from last season. The pro of this cup is Real Madrid.

They should have learned how Real Madrid always come back even with so little time left. They had a 2 goal lead in the 14th minute, they should have focused more on defense, but what happened was they made a blunder which was punished with a goal by Real Madrid. Anfiled is a haunted place for other teams, but that is not the case for Real Madrid. I'm not sure they will be able to make a comeback like they did in 2019 when they competed in the semifinals against Barcelona.

Anyway, I'm fed up with Liverpool's game, especially in defense with a 2-goal advantage in advance, why are they worse off conceding 5 goals at home? What is clear is that their defense is worse than being able to control the opponent's movements.

To be honest, we expected the same for the second leg. The chance to qualify is very unlikely because after all, Real Madrid at home will be even more ferocious and to say a miracle, I don't think it will happen.
So Liverpool's hopes in the Champions League are very slim to qualify even in H2H terms they haven't won much from Real Madrid and we have to admit that.

I think I am a very disappointed person with the result of the match between Liverpool vs Real Madrid because I supported Liverpool in that match even when they were leading 2-0 I was happy about that, But that didn't come true when the result was 2-5 where Real Madrid  came out victorious in that fight.

On the one hand I am disappointed and on the one hand I am very amazed at what the Real Madrid players did because they were surprisingly able to turn things around and it was an extraordinary task performed by the Real Madrid players in that match. real madrid is truly king in the champions league.

In less than half an hour there will be Inter vs Porto, the last time these two teams met in the round of 16 it finished 3-1 for Inter with a hat-trick from Adriano "the emperor". but lately Porto has been the bete noire of the Italian teams involved in the Champions League, they eliminated Roma in 2019 Juventus in 2021 and last year they eliminated Milan in the group stage. I hope to see an exciting match, I think Inter have a stronger team on paper but Porto are really tough, who knows! I bet on the over 2.5

Even though there are indeed a number of players who can replace this, I still think the impact will be there for them in the absence of this player as a regulator of attack and supply of passes for strikers.

They have no comeback quality these days. They throw away significant leads during the games. They tie and lose against teams from the bottom of the table. This doesn't sound all that good and please consider that I am a fan of Jurgen Klopp. I have been for a very long time, but sometimes there is just nothing a coach can give to a club anymore. This result of 2:5 in a home game is not like it was close and unlucky. Liverpool also got one goal for free when Courtois failed so hard. And when you then still can't benefit from that, it is a bad sign if you ask me. I would give him a couple of weeks to see what is possible and firing him during the season probably doesn't make sense anyway.

I expect a clear victory by Manchester City tonight. I don't think Leipzig have the strength to resist them much now. I'm aware of how good Leipzig have been in the Bundesliga. And they have done quite a good job in the Champions League as well. They defeated Real Madrid home in a group match. However I think this is the end for them. Besides Real Madrid wouldn't lose that match to them easily if it was a much more important match for them.

Leipzig will come across one of the biggest challenges in the Champions League and fail most probably. A victory by two goals for Manchester City seems nice to me.
